Blaze didn’t beat sonic in the fight neither did sonic beat Blaze in the fight. It was a draw between Blaze and sonic. Also Blaze deserves a playable character slot more than knuckles but not more than tails.

Should pick up the DS version again and give it another shot, it honestly is really good. It has some better boss fights in my opinion, has good level design, some awesome new suits, and just generally is a pretty great game despite its rigidity. I think both it and the console versions are equally great in their own ways. But hey, maybe that’s just nostalgia talking.

Considering that past games were more stronger quality wise, characterization, Final Boss, and the game still having bugs and issues comparing to earlier titles & other series, its safe to say its still only a step in the right direction because it made the franchise comfortable again. It deserve its success, but its not really outstanding in terms of presentation. More power to ya if u love the game tho, which i know you do lol (ps: sonic was already shot out of a gun/canon... sonic x?)

Pffft! Amy is actually the worst here and her IDW portrayal is some of the weakest there’s ever been. Ian Flynn seems desperate to convince us she’s “strong and independent” and not a damsel, despite him and his terminally online feminist followers being the only ones who erroneously see Amy as a damsel. The rest of us already know that Amy is actually very proactive and fights some of Eggman’s most dangerous mechs along with the others. There’s also this weird obsession they have with her tarot cards. To the point it’s getting annoying and removing her iconic hammer.

I think the reason Sonic was respectful with Sage and impatient with Master King was because of the vastly different context. With Sage, she was his only lifeline for finding out what exactly was going on, and always seemed to know very important information she wasn't sharing with him. The base game, up until his corruption gets really bad, is about Sonic exploring. In this DLC, he is on a strict timetable. Sage tells Sonic she can only hold his corruption back for a limited time, and the whole time he's participating in this trials, his friends are also becoming more corrupted. So when Master King starts posturing, Sonic literally doesn't have time for it.

I don’t really like Flynn’s writing. It comes across as too… fan fictions… ish. Too try hard. And I’ll never forgive the bastard for linking the main series to that Sonic Boom abomination, at the end of the game, by mentioning Sticks. He could have shown Marine the Raccoon a little love, but no, he had to mention that abominable thing with the most annoying characteristics and the weakest design in the whole franchise history. And I don’t really like Amy in Frontiers either. She doesn’t annoy me, but it looks like they’re going the “strong and independent woman” route for no other reason than because it’s what is politically correct on Twitter. Same with calling clearly male or female koco “they”. They’re also overplaying the tarot card gimmick for Amy.

Imagine how hype it would have been if The Final Horizon was the fabled return of Hyper Sonic instead of this new Super Sonic 2 form...

This video is incredible. Showing the sonic team wanting to get the achievements what should be long time ago. The platforming is by far the best part of it, is just the difficulty is a massive step up. And the story direction is well restored. Shadow generations is building from this and I can’t wait for the foundation to be better upon since now the team knows what we like.

The last update gave me hope that Sonic is finally coming back to having cool stories and character gameplay again. And the fact Sonic Team said this was their last chance to making a big Sonic game like this again made me sympathetic to them moreso than their previous works in the 2010s.

FINALLY. I keep finding reviews that are lukewarm about the update and i have nothing but praises. Maybe i'm not a true sonic fan, they usually are more strict than me i guess.

I feel that the best way to handle the chaos emeralds would be to mix up story structures from game to game, like for example: for one game the classic story structure that you said is used, then maybe for the next game the chaos emeralds aren't used at all, then for the next, they handle it like IDW did it, then they make a new form, etc

I like this direction with Amy too, I just had two problems with it. A) it felt like there was 0 transition between the old Amy and current Amy. Her love for Sonic just completely vanished as if it never existed and her cards suddenly reappeared as if they were always there. B) They haven't fleshed out this version of Amy enough, and thanks to that her personality seems extremely stereotypical and bland.

Dude. Sonic X Amy in the games is one of the most horrendous ships imaginable in this series. It would be so much better if they stopped doing any sort of teasing let alone supporting involving that ship and completely scrap it entirely. That’s one of the worst aspects about any Sonic game that has Amy in it truth be told. Also, in the IDW comics specifically, Ian Flynn did forcibly made Amy into Sally and gotta be honest, that is one of the worst creative decisions ever made in this series. Sally is meant to be Sally. Not Amy. You trying to fill that void with an already annoying and tiresome character only makes the issue worse and less enjoyable for the reader. I’ve had enough of that. Stop it entirely.

There's actually a 1.4.1 update that fixed a whole bunch of stuff. The difficulty is much lower, it is still much more difficult than the base game but it is not frustrating, for example in the Titans Trial you now have 600 rings and your attack is 25 instead of 1 and the perfect parry is much easier to use. Knuckles glide is fixed. There is now an option to Restart a cyberspace level faster. And more

One idea I’ve been sitting on is multiple versions of Silver, one from a bad future and the other from a good future, both of them duking it out for whatever reason. Maybe bad future Silver is exploiting time travel to fix his time and good future Silver is trying to keep whatever time travel/multiverse bsery to a minimum as a sort of self-appointed time cop.

Unleashed story was partly caused by gaia turning off the emralds!!! That's one way to make the story different. Find a way to neutralize the emralds!!!! Similer to manina too where the phantom ruby knocked out super sonic, or have something that can rival the emralds or have the enemy use the emralds or their own similar thing. I don't think super sonic endings are a bad thing and the emralds being the power up compared to dragon ball always using the same transformations make it less special to mme. I think using ssj and ssg to get ssb is a great way to keep the forms relevant. But compared to naruto and one peice where the forms are tools for different snearios the power creep does linger in the back of my head. DB is leaning into techniques more but that's why I think hyper albet cool is redundant as a transformation in isolation for the same reason as goku forms. But I think the requirement of the master emreald makes it better.
