6.0 LS gains with a tune!

The truck is a 6.0 lq4, has a cold air intake, and a set of duel exhaust with mismatched mufflers, I know there was maybe 2 tenths left in the tune, but this is just an idea on what a tune will give you on one of these old gassers. I know the new pistons and rods should have been put up but I was running out of space in my garage and was on the last cylinder, the pistons went in moments later

You did a nice job softening the C chambers and removing the heat sink for the spark plugs. Couldn’t tell if you widened the openings any, I like to open cathedral heads .100” or 1/10 of an inch using FelPro paper gasket as a template and then blend it inward, remove bolt Boss and eliminate swirl ramp completely .
You have simple logic in mind for theory of flow. 👍

Im sure its been figured out by now but 94% hurts it, a little bigger valve might help bring the angles back in, which it needs to help turn the air. You dont put a bigger door in without changing the door jamb, bigger door bigger door jamb. In this case they put a bigger jamb in but they left the little door on it. You have to work the percentages, the throat and bowl has to be proportionate to the valve. A little shrouding from an oversized valve wont hurt as much as that 94% throat.

Sounds good brother. I've got a 2016 sierra 5.3 2wd. It's stock besides a 93 PHP custom tune. I believe I'm going to buy these header with Y pipe and leave stock exhaust on. In my videos it's the 0-60 truck
That's awesome man. I had a 93 Mustang GT years ago with the stock AOD transmission, Flowmasters, 4.10 gears and 13 degrees of initial timing. It only ran 9.40's in the 8th on street tires. That's impressive for a quad cab truck

Did my 1st #operationls & now awaiting oil and oil pan gasket from Amazon I lightly gasket matched and smoothed the inner surfaces better than stock Chompada? Cam from Texas Speed with springs and pushrods, Michigan Motorworks? Rocker arms and put washers in oil pump, and centered oil pump using all the tricks I learned off youTube

Something’s gotta be wrong, my fathers bone stock 5.3 crew cab 2wd with 2.23 gears and stock 4l60 ran 16.7, after truck Norris cam only on just a 93 tune it ran a 14.8, I’ll gladly send you proof and tell you who does our tuning if you’d like
With spare tire and tool box in the bed and full weight including air bags in the rear because it’s a dropped truck
I got a cammed 5.3 just straight piped it and it’s quick plus I got a 1200 stall perfect for my cam next up a intake and a tune
It blows my mind I drive a 99 Dakota rt and it pulls a bit better numbers than Newer trucks lol

Alot of people drill/bore out the iac tunnel on the cheap Chinese TB. I don't think the Chinese throttle body is bad. It just needs to be worked in order for it to be good. If you're willing to put the time and effort into it it's not a bad TB

I got two question which you might have said in the video but i couldn't hear, Are you able to hook up the 1 3/4 long tube headers and Offroad Y-pipe up to the stock exhaust and do i need to get a tune immediately?

What gears would you recommend for a 2003 5.3 built from the block up it’s a daily driver but I’m wanting more top end but also wanting to keep acceleration and towing capacity

I live in CA. Have you had any problems with Emission or getting the Truck Smogged if thats needed in your area

Hi i did the same build an ly6 6.0 in a z3, i went to the drag Twice and broke my axle twice in 2nd gear..What axle are you running i have 550hp and 255 rear tires.. Thank’s!
I know this is old but looks like u need push rod guide plates to stabilize rockers and push rods might have caused the failure
