love this thanx
why does it matter which orientation the HT leads go on?
Thank you my friend. Your video was very helpful!
I love the S logo on your tank. Wish my 23 had that instead. I wanna spread the gospel and dispel the myth that the stock saddle is uncomfortable. It's not. I'm, unfortunately right now, 260 pounds and I can sit in that thing all day long. It isn't awesome, but my Corbin isn't here yet. The seat is designed to put you in the proper position for sport riding. Put your back way back where it's supposed to be, hang your hands lightly on the controls, and your feet on the balls and against the rear set. If you're sitting upright like a squid with your butt on the narrow part, good luck riding 30 minutes.
It most likely works because Subaru was part of GM in a way back then.
I have this same problem on my wrx w high pressure line do u need the pressure fitting or can I just slide rubber hose on with high pressure clamps
I see you have that right cover off to see the timing marks. beats having to take the whole timing cover off. Did you have to do/remove anything else to be able to spin the crank? Does it help to take the serp belt off? Also, I’ve heard you can remove the engine mounts and jack the car up to not have to mess with the fuel rail. You think that’s easier or harder way to get that one stubborn cover off? Any info is appreciated, and thanks for making this video.
@spencer would you build a harness for my h6 baja of I sent them in the mail and paid you?
Good luck
What’s that check engine light for ?
Not having an engine in it. Connected to that ecu anyway
hey man, what happened to the Camaro? i want to know more about it since mine I think has a leaking/blown head gasket. was it reliable after the top swap or did it blow up is what I'm asking?
Hey, Camaro is long ago gone. I drove it on that swap for about a year without any issue other than a hotstart problem. I ended up trading for an 89 RX7 and it was driven away. To be totally honest, if I were to do that swap again, I would 100% get an aftermarket or piggy back ECU to ensure you had control of ignition timing and cylinder Temps.
@@Spenceboy94 damn, I didn't expect you to respond so quick. Just out of curiosity, why did you do the top swap in the first place?
@CuckBalls I did the swap because I wanted more power, and I was a kid on a budget. It was an interesting experiment and was different from all the guys doing LS swaps. I, however, would now go with the LS swap.
@@Spenceboy94 my car is having an engine problem and while I'm taking all that shit apart I might as well go ahead and put something better in it's place or not fucked up and possibly warped?
@@Spenceboy94 Im just trying to get somebody to talk to about this because all these old ass posts on forums are from 4-15 years ago aren't gonna yield me any help. I just am concerned about the compression ratio being too high and the things that I have to modify to make it work. Everybody is telling me to sell that shit for scrap but I don't want to give up on it. Its a good car, it just has its gm quality, and 30 years of age.
Was it hard to get the cold start and warmup tuning right? Or does it feel pretty daily drivable with the haltech? I had a megasquirt back in the day and want to avoid the drivability issues I had with it..
Not too difficult to get cold start tuning right. These Haltech Elites are powerful units and can easily be daily driven once tuning is dialed in.
How’d you get the old plastic line out?
If my engine ever goes in my 2018 STI, this is a route I'd definitely look at going for giggles. Subscribed. Definitely interested in learning what is needed for using the Haltech kit on the WRX's.
Any chance you could email me a write up of what I’d need to merge, ground, convert and replace? I have a same year Baja that I want to do this to
how did you get the ecu for the 2.5 to run the h6 Ive been dieing to swap my baja but its manual and was thinking id need to swap all the trans wiring from an h6 if i can not do that this would save days.
Almost bought one of these but went with a 3rd gen outback instead! You think this is easily as doable into the 3rd gen outbacks?
I dont know if youll see this but how did you connect the "chevy" repair line to the main line with the compression fitting? did you just cut the flared end off and use a compression union and run the quick disconnect end down?
Yes in this case, I cut off the flared end and slid a compression fitting on it
@@Spenceboy94 awesome thanks for the response
@@Spenceboy94finally got around to doing it but i cant get this hose to go across the tank for the life of me i can get maybe 3 inches coming from either side is there anything you did to get it through? It seems like theres not enough room at all
@@Spenceboy94nevermind i got it lmao it was getting caught on the clip that the old line ran through
Thanks man. Installed mine yesterday after watching your video.
This Baja is SICK! Great choice on engine swap especially with this lift! I hope to see some more videos of it on road/ offroad!!
Hey man I just had a quick question. If I was swapping and merging a EZ30r into a 06 wrx, i'd need the bulkhead (in engine & in compartment) harness, front wire harness, and engine wiring harness? Which harnesses would I merge from the 06 wrx and the ez30r?
Hey Spencer. This video feeds my courage dog! Did you keep the factory ECU or swap in the H6 one? Thanks!
I wanna do the something similar to my camaro, however all this swaping parts between the different motors is getting confusing. I wanna change the heads, the intakes, and I assume I'd have to change the throttle body as well. Can you tell me what parts I'd need in specific to do so. I'm trying to build my first car. Also what pistons would I need to swap into the motor to make sure the compression ratio isn't too high.
Which Haltech loom did you use? Any resources you can point out that were useful? I'm doing this same swap with a Gen 1 EZ30 into a JDM Bugeye
This is super cool, but how come you are “gatekeeping” all This wiring info??? H6 the world
Do you by chance have info on the stock ecm pin diagram trying to find where the tach signal is.
How's the intake right next to the throttlebody treating you? Been concerned about heat creep on an EJ20 but it seems much more viable on the plastic body EZ30
Temps definitely did get up there. I did eventually make a longer cold air for it.
Cool, behind the headlight I'm assuming?
Sick video been thinking of swapping my 2010 Impreza hatch with a Forester h6 but because of the canbus system I would have to run the whole ecu wiring harness from the dash to the engine & beyond lol great work though
This is really cool and I might be doing the same swap really soon but I have no clue on the electrical side where to start or how to do in general is there anyway I can personally contact you for a more descriptive overview of the electrical side of the swap?
You in Ontario?
Yes sir
@@Spenceboy94 do you have instagram or Facebook I just got few questions
@@Simple_a4 @spenc.chamberlain
This is called a down grade if it’s a swap. Looks like to me you painted everything red and said fuck it. Can’t believe anyone likes this shit
Thank you Sir 😊
what's the cost of this kind of swap?
Realistically nowadays $800+ for a motor or buy a whole car for $2000+ which will give you everything you need to swap into your car. The original swap into my impreza cost me under $2000 4 years ago
Great video with a ton of good detail. Thanks for posting. I’m pretty sure NGK spark plugs come with a coating on the threads so they don’t require anti-seize. If you use it with those plugs you’re more likely to over torque. I might be wrong but it’s worth looking into.
You're right! NGK specifically says to not use anti-seize on their spark plugs.
How did you route the line. Currently doing the samething and having troubles
I wish there was a “love” button! My Baja is identical, minus the EZ30. I’m dying to know more, I have an extreme fascination with H6 swapping something.
Hope you keep upgrading this Baja man
i have replaced and changed engines, but the wiring scares me.. would love the H6 Swap my Baja. maybe H6 Swap my XT6 :)
What 5 speed transmission are you running on the car in the video I have a ez30 motor from a 03 outback and I can’t figure out what trans to use that’s a 5 speed
I was running a 5mt out of the 2.5i Impreza with a 3.9 Final drive. Now it's a 5mt out of a legacy with a 4.11 final drive.
@@Spenceboy94 what year was the 2.5i cause I have a 07 2.5i Impreza 5 speed no turbo and idk if it will handle the power from the ez30 what year and model did you get your trans from looking for a 3.90 -4.11 what car and year does that come from?
First trans was a 07 and I abused it. It's still working fine with no issue in another car. The current trans is from a 04 Legacy and again I've been using launch control and it still lives. Even if I were to put a turbo on it I would get blast plates for the 5mt before I 6mt swap.
@@Spenceboy94 I very much appreciate your help and advice I subbed to your channel💙💯

I’m planning to do this swap also , what ecu are you running ??

What ecu did you use i have an 07 2.5i with a 06 ez30r
I'm using a Haltech Elite 2500 and now a wide band controller
Did you go plug n play or Universal?
@@bobbyedstrom5688 universal
Was the universal harness kit pretty straight forward? I was going to have iwire do the harness n they don't do h6 harness's any more, so ill be doing it myself, any tips? And wide band o2?
Thank you sir. This was very helpful.
do you remember which belt you used to do the AC delete?
u got any info on how u wired it in ?
This guy is weird it’s like he’s keeping it a secret or something lol I don’t get why ppl make videos like this but leave out details smh like we watch to get ideas and info but he’s like figure it out on your own haha 😂
How did you end up fishing the hose through to get to the pump? I keep trying to go through the driver side hole to the pump and it feels like I'm getting nowhere with it.
Have you noticed any difference in handling after putting in the engine?
After initially putting in the 1st gen engine I'd say i noticed more understeer (slightly) but since then I have coilovers stiffer sway bar and have reduced the weight of the car by 300 lb. so the difference is negligible now
How did you get the old plastic line out?
you can just cut it off since you replace it anyways
So incredibly helpful
Any more pictures or info on fitting the Tribeca fans? What radiator is that?
The Rad is a G-plus Ebay Rad.....and no pics atm but all i ended up doing is hacking the top off of it and drilling holes to line up with the rad
