Forget to add a hallmark? This may work for you! (US)
In this video I am adding a hallmark to a cuff I created because I forgot to add it when I made it! I'll show how I remove a stone from gallery wire, add the hallmark, then re-set the stone!

My silver balls. Turned black
Awesome tutorial 👍
Great vid, Super subject details, not so super shot angles though. Sorry. You might try shooting from your right side, and maybe overhead as well. Stay the course, your good!
Oh yea if I had the time to remake and edit this video… totally would lol absolutely agree on that!
Liked for the informative video and the background song blurry
What is the type of material you’re using to finish off the seam. Can you get them from Rio? Thanks
Oh! Yes ma’am you can - I believe Rio sells them as Advantedge (so?) but they’re little silicone wheels that go on a mandrel you use in the foredom ;)
@@robertapihl76 Thanks❤️
Beautiful and thank you!❤
Do you have the pebble stamp shown in your video using a rolling mill? Also just FYI I've shared your business name to several of the students in my adult Ed class. At least 2 have ordered from you.
Aww thanks luv! And I’ve been thinking a lot about that one lately… I should bring it back eh? 🥰 I have one called River Rock that may be the reverse of it or it could be the same one you’re referring to.
27분 쯤 .. What syringe do you use instead of silver soldering? Your video clip is a good teacher
Miraculously I just gave this technique a "good guess" on a pair of earrings i made and I see I was correct! Yay for me (for once!) Lol. Now I know that I probably should use my chip solder for this 😆. It's all good though. I would like to know if you could show us how to solder an edge if braided wire to the end of a ring. Its been driving me insane and now I have solder all over the ring shank! 😂 Thank you!
Great video as usual!
Roberta can you use that copper "tape" to remove the solder? I just found out that stuff exists so i was curious if you have ever used it and is it safe to use on silver too even though it's a copper tape?
Honestly I haven’t tried it, myself! I think for me the best practice is to always start with less solder because it’s just easier to add than take it away, but if you think it’s worth trying out, give it a go! Be brave and experiment! Then maybe let me Know how it works because I make mistakes too *giggles!* 💕
@@robertapihl76 I bought some accidentally bc I thought it was pre-braided flat wire so at least now I know wtf it is. 😆 I am a wire wrapper by trade but have always wanted to learn more about metal smithing so it's been a lot of trial and error but I'm enjoying the ride! Tysm for all these wonderful videos. I'm learning so much from you! Take care!
I taught myself how to solder and I have had a lot of learning mistakes on my curve and you explain things so easily that I have learned so much just from the few videos I've watched so far. Thank you so much for your easy application and instruction. I have so much paste solder and I get it everywhere and then nothing sticks and I end up having to pickle it and scrub it and start all over. I feel like hugging you I am so happy that I have figured out the things that have been puzzling me for so long. I have ADHD really bad so it's hard for me to pay attention to most UA-cam tutorials and yours have been not only the best but the easiest to follow so far. Thank you so much for your videos. I'm so glad I subscribed yesterday.
I just started doing Viking knit, and I've watched several videos to teach myself, and yours was by far the most helpful, and you explain things in a way in which my ADHD brain can understand, LOL. Thank you so much for this video, and I just subscribed to you.
Glad that helped!! It’s just a few things I figured out and why I shared it 💕💕
Cool.❤
Great tutorial …. What do you mean old music! If it’s old that means I’m old IT AINT OLD!!! That’s my story n I’m sticking to it 😂
AWESOME!!! I would love to hang out with you and pay you to make another one with you together hands on!
Just the video i was looking for Thank You and subscribed
Very nice work. I enjoyed the entire video, and the cuff was beautiful. Out of curiosity, how much would a cuff like that go for ? For a guy ? Soldier on
Thanks very informative ❤
Hi Roberta! Do you know if ferric Nitrate will etch silverplate? I do a lot with up cycling vintage silverware and wondering if this would work on spoon bowls? Thank you
Hey! Ah no it won’t - it only works on the silver portion which is extraordinarily thin. The main metal is steel..
Do you have a video on how to recondition used conchos so they can be used again?
Wow, You have skills :) Love to see your work :)
You didn't show how you bent the silver to get the body of the piece
Oh! Sorry!! It’s been a while since I made this video! After I soldered it on I used a ring mandrel and nylon hammer to shape it ;)
Great tutorial! i hope this will work adding silver balls to a ring also, but why not! thank you!
They make better tips to use just to help you out
Thank you for your prompt response. What i meant is since the tri sterling wire is a pyramid shape. How can i stamp the bottom part of the wire. I do have the jig that you have on your video to stamp the sides of the tri wire but how about the bottom of the tri wire ? Thank you
Just curious how to stamp on the bottom surface of the tri wire? I would like to stamp " 925 sterling " on the back of the tri wire but do. not know how. Any suggestions ? Thank you
Of course! They actually make stamps that say that - check out the Pragmatic Artisan at www.etsy.com/shop/PragmaticArtisan?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1134160926&from_page=listing If need be you can ask her to make you one. Her name is Meesh, tell her I sent ya!
Wonderful!❤
Just what I needed to see today…wonderful tutorial thank you for sharing

Great technique.
Great video, I loved the tips you give.
great video. Any suggestions on where to get Native American metal stamps ? Thank you
Yea try The House of Stamps ;) www.thehouseofstamps.com
To your measurement you need to add the thickness of your metal. ❤
Awesome...
Thanks for the video. I'm ordering on of those crucible holders.
Thank you❤
I only have a butane torch. I havent had luck with the tripod is this why?
Depending on the size of your piece, you may require more heat. I have a $40 plumber’s torch as well for those situations but you have to remember to moderate your heat control so you don’t just melt everything ;) hope that helps!
Adding to that, steel is a heat sink and a butane torch won’t put out enough heat. ;)
Roberta, I have been looking for such a video, for months now. I soldered on a bezel, but with hard solder😢. It moved, before I had thought to buy Elie Ghanime's hummingbirds, so I sm stuck with a bezel that's crooked!😭. Will i be able to remove it? I would hate to lose the textured backplate it's on, and all that work. Hard solder tends to be well soldered. I hope you can help me🙏🙏🙏
so clean and helpful, thank u!
Good Reacher. Congratulations
how can you combine or splice two viking knits chains into a single chain?
Does anyone know how to make it waterproof?
I use a spray enamel but I have to be careful or the colors bleed together. Just a little squirt at a time, let it dry, squirt again.. so far that’s the best I’ve got
May be due to it being "alcohol" ink, the substance is fine unless it comes into contact with alcohol or blending solution.
Another great video, thanks so much for sharing.
Great video, thanks so much for sharing all the information.
Nice!
I sell a lot of discs and want to start making my own embossed discs and washer and rings. Thanks for the demo.
