  • In this shotgun video I show how I use Craig Dabler's Acu-Pour to sand cast objects with a curve to them! This can be tricky but my little technique makes it SO much easier! you can find the pattern and the sand casting system at www.diycastings.com !

Roberta, I just love you for creating your informative (and entertaining) videos. I had no idea that casting is something that appears to be within my reach. With Craig Dabler's system, your combined videos and tips, I can make the jewelry I've seen in my dreams!! Thank you so very much for your inspiration.

Next time just pack the clay underneath the concaves, rest it on top of the clay and push the stem in half way so the hold thing rest at an angle instead of horizontal and put close on and there you go...no need to press the concaves or dig and scrape around the edges...voila! I never sand casted in my life. But i have made ALOT of pro sand castles.

I just got the box for the crucible. And the rings. I can get the accu cast in the future.
    I’m impressed.
Do you have any ring casting molds to show?
I have some ring molds I can work with but I have not started to cast them yet.

Did you carve that little ceramic stand for the crucible yourself? What did you carve it out of? It looks like fire brick but - soft firebrick or hard firebrick?

I came across this film by accident, I watched it due to my profession (Jeweler) I objectively state that you have no idea how to pour in casting clay, each frame is a mistake that causes another error

I would suggest that you elaborate but I don't think that's why you're here. Seems you just want to punch down and criticize that an amateur hobbyist doesn't use the proper techniques that the greatest jewelers such as yourself use. Lol I'm a welder by trade and I bet if you had to build the enormous weldments that I do, you'd be doing a lot of things that will cause you many problems in a later process. However, I choose not to comment on welding videos just to announce my greatness and state that they are just fu** ups lol
