Origins of the Mennonite Self-Defense Units in the Soviet Union | The Selbstschutz (CLIP)
Following the Bolshevik Revolution (1917) and the ensuing Russian Civil War, civil unrest and anarchy swept Ukraine, where an estimated 100,000 pacifist Mennonites were living. The Mennonite colonies were subjected to brutal attacks and heinous pillaging. For many, it was too much to bear silently, and some choice to pick up arms to defend their families and their women.

    No one mentions the genetic similarity this group has, which is part of its longevity and success. It is secular heresy to say this of a White group. But if the Bruderhof were ANY non-White group, there'd be choruses of praise for their "deep common roots." For the same reason, Islam (Which is a religious form of Nazism) gets a huge pass because it is treated as non-White group and therefore handled with kid gloves.

    I'm Roman Catholic but I believe the church has been very very sick since 1045. I propose the last supper table needs to be the ideal we hold up in order to reunite East and West under Christ. The last supper table is where all of the leaders Christ chose were fully united and listening to Jesus. Yes Peter was the observable leader of the group after Christ but he was NOT the king of the group. The group was fully necessary. The 12. The concept of the 12 was so important that when Judas killed himself, the 11 picked Mathias to fill Judas's empty office, and that's in the book of Acts. The last supper table is what Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants can all work for to convert this never ending dividing and weakening of the people trying to follow Jesus Christ and restore what Christ begged the Father for. "That they may be 1..." -I'm a convert from Atheism.

    It's absolutely hilarious how protestants today downplay the division in protestantism. Oh it's just small agreements but we are unified in SS and SF. Luther and Calvin begs to differ. They ruthlessly persecuted all sects and denominations back then. These are the founders of your churches folks. If they were alive today they would drown and execute all 8000 denominations. Luther and Calvin did not tolerate the divisions that protestants nowadays accept.

    I teach on the Bumengart Hutterite Colony in Manitoba. I showed your excellent video to my grade 7 students. Their first questions were about the 8 freed slaves. Where did Salomon find them? How did he free them? Did they re-unite with their home colonies in Moravia? Another topic of interest to me is colony Hutterites' last names. The names of early Hutterites have disappeared from colonies. Current names don't seem to have been there early on. Also, there are a fairly limited number of Hutterite last names now common on colonies (there are only about 13 last names of Hutterites now, excepting a few recent married-ins and possible "new" colonies formed by missionaries in other countries and cultures.) This has made for a limited gene pool and some genetic issues, which Hutterites are very aware of.

    What a stupid thing to die for! Baptizing a baby doesn't hurt the baby! It is only bad if people are so stupid that they think it saves the child! Presbyterians believe in infant baptism and believers baptism! One is representing the promise God made to Abraham, the other is about sealing your confession of faith. It is not complicated! Thank you for video!

  • @gogos869

    So even back then, they didn't understand the purpose of infant Baptism? What a bunch of idiots! It is simply a covenant replacing circumcision! Neither Circumcision nor Baptism saves anyone whether you are a child or an adult. John the Baptist said: "I baptize you with water, but there is one coming who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit" John's baptism was a forerunner to Christ's Baptism. They are Old and New Testament respectively. The Bible is all about covenants. Thank you for this video!

    My 2nd great grandpa was in Custer's army. He was already in South Dakota before the Hutterites arrived. By WWI, my 2nd great grandpa was retired, and had very different ideas about going to war over sea. In 1910, my great grandpa Edgerton, who was born in South Dakota, and my great grandma Steiner, who was born in Montana, got married in Keremeos, BC. Then they settled and built a home in Oroville, WA. They used their home as a stop-over for some 50 families who migrated from the Dakotas to Canada. My great grandpa Steiner came from area of Bavaria that many of the Hutterites fled from.

    1. Schisms also happened before this with many orthodox groups splitting. Think of the Armenian and Coptic splits that happens earlier. Every time the Catholics get to a certain corruption level, there is a split. 2. The west had NO right to add the phrase in 1054. The doctrine of the trinity evolved over a few hundred years. Retroactively changing creeds obscures our valuable history. I’m a Pentecostal. 😂

  • @brendagula6290
    @brendagula6290 2 місяці тому

    I am protestant but definitely not Calvanist or Pentecostal. I find it rather funny that the Orthodox church feels like they are the true church and then the Catholics feel they are the true church. Another thing I find interesting with Catholics and Orthodox is that they both claim authority over the canon of Scripture when the scriptures were God breathed and authored by Holy Spirit and written by people God chose to do the writing so scrioture belongs to God not a certain church or denomination. Christianity is considered as a major world religion & has several branches: Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Protestantism. Defined this way, Catholicism is one division of Christianity. But true biblical Christianity is not a religion in the sense that one “joins” it by becoming a member of an organization. Jesus simplified what it means to be a Christian when He told Nicodemus that one must be “born again” (John 3:3). That new birth is an individual experience between God and a repentant heart and is not dependent in any way upon a priest’s blessing, baptism, or any other outward action we take. Ephesians 2:8-9 is clear that salvation is by grace through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as full payment for our sin. When we enter into that saving relationship with God, we become “new creatures” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our new nature is not a slave to sin as we once were (John 8:34; Romans 6:16). This new nature produces righteous living, not in order to become saved, but because we have been saved (1 John 3:7-10).

    Tnere isn't any Eastern Orthodox Church, as Church is never in the Bible used for any "denomination." There isn't any Methodist Church either nor Roman Catholic Church -- there are denomination using that name, but they are not the Church, the one Body of Christ. You abuse the word Church (ecclesia) using it for denominations. And your 3 group leaves out the Trail of Blood of True Christians who are not papists, not Eastern & not Prots. These are men who trust Christ as Savior but their tradition does not come out of the reformers who left their papal organization

  • @lufknuht5960
    @lufknuht5960 2 місяці тому

    I am a member of the only & one Church which has ever existed, the Body of Christ -- not a denomination. You enter this Church by defining Christ correctly & trusting Him as Savior (not Chance-giver). Then by Spirit baptism you are place into the Body of Christ, the Only Church which has ever existed. You may be in some denomination, but the qualifications remain the same. Joining a denomination is irrelevant except to the extent that your denomination may be apostate & deny the gospel.

  • @lufknuht5960
    @lufknuht5960 2 місяці тому

    Christians have no obligation whatever to join with fake Christians who do not actually trust Christ as Savior, as evidenced by them not knowing where they will go when they die or by denial or basic doctrines, or believing in salvation by good works or by worshipping idols like Mary, bowing to statues.

    What is your justification for using Billy Graham as a symbol for Prots? Graham was a baptist which so far as I know has not connection to the persons who came out of the Papist organization. There is this "Trail of Blood" Christianity which came from the early Church, but was not under the pope. You should have put some Lutheran as a symbolic Prot.

One question I have some people look at the harsh treatment of Ana baptists during the radical reformation and justify there harsh treatment because they were considered dangerous radicals , the Munster rebellion gave them a bad name , the courage , and comitment most Ana baptist have is truly amazing.
