12-hour Speaking Clock
Переглядів 4255 місяців тому
If I ever tell you I'm going to do this again, please stop me. This happened because of a programming exercise. When I'm training or evaluating new computer programmers I like to use the "Write a program that outputs the text for a Speaking Clock" exercise. I was doing this myself in Python recently, and thought "Rather than text, why not use video segments for the output?" Getting the rough ve...

Pallet picnic bench part 2 - finishing and delivery
Dude! My mind is blown, a drill guide! What the hell do I need my huge and heavy press drill for?!
Well they're not for EVERY job, but they can help with a decent number of them...
I've never seen epal pallets come apart so easily. I've tried this method and every time the heads of the nails pull through the boards or the heads pop off.
I have about a 50% success rate (slightly better when I use the EPAL pallets made with compressed sawdust spacer blocks). Practice helps a bit, but there's still an element of chance in it - I had to record 3 takes to get this video, and even in this one I ended up with some broken firewood pieces.
A tip: if you get an old tire and put the logs you're splitting in the center, it'll hold the chunks upright as you split and remove the need for picking up the individual pieces for further splitting. Pack it tight and the natural combination of slight elasticity and steel cords will keep the pieces together... Came across that a while back and it's made the process of chunking through the firewood stack next to the house much easier. There's a certain satisfaction to spending a day logsplitting - the timber keeps you warm three times, once when you cut it, once when you split it, and a third when you finally get around to burning it!
Thank you Mr Wakely, I'll definitely add that one to my Top Tips List for next time. 👍 I must admit though, I wanted to capture the "split blocks violently flying apart" on my high-speed camera to add a bit of drama and interest to the video. 🙂
I hope you didnt recieve a splitting headache.
I wonder what he wears when he hangs around in bars?
"Women want him. Men want to BE him."
Brittle, brittle ironbark.
"I WISH ID BEEN A GIRLIE LIKE MY DEAR PAPA" I wonder why i had those lyrics running as the soundtrack?
It was the video that Red was born to make.
@@TightwadWorkshop 🤣
No Clickbait this time, I promise!🙂
That was thirsty work mate. I had to pause it to go get a beer!
The old GoPro works well for slow motion when you use the 240fps mode, eh?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Um... Canada and Mexico are both North American, and both metric.
Whoops! Duly noted, apologies for making that mistake, I suspect Canadians and Mexicans get it quite often.
@@TightwadWorkshop We're pretty used to it yes. Our southern neighbours tend to be the more vocal kid in class ...
excellent video though!
I got cork sealer on my Uggs not knowing it would make the fabric harden, is there a type of liquid to remove it from my Uggs or a fabric patch to cover it??🙁🙁
I think you're stuck with it, but on the positive side you've probably made them 100% waterproof!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When does this drop? :-)

By definition, whealth is all about money
She worked her ass of to be where she is now , money won't buy happiness but it sure helps , and damn well she deserves everything she earned. She also has a supporting fanbase and family , and a loving boyfriend . Shading a successful woman is not a good look .
Shade? I think you missed the joke mate
It’s a joke…
If it comes down to it, I'm choosing Taylor.
I think you've made the right choice there.
What an awesome video! I love the home made awl and the live audience! Thanks so much for taking the time to make.
Thank you! I'm happy to report that my Ugg Boots are still going strong, almost 2 years later!
This is the most underrated woodworking channel ever! As a tightwad myself I recognised those Craftright tools right away!
Why thank you! I'm a firm believer that "Cheap Tools" are almost always better than "No Tools At All". 🙂
Great video. I'm curious though, what made you file the locating notches in rather than use your milling machine? Was it just for variety, or is there some other reason? All the best!
Well spotted! Yes, it was mostly to show a variety of techniques, and I also enjoy the "bench work" using hand tools. Thanks for commenting, and you might also enjoy this one: m.ua-cam.com/video/BCH4dFwiA_U/v-deo.html

That will definitely make the repair more difficult, but I believe in you! 🙂

It's definitely a unique colour! The lady who owns it now arrived to collect it wearing a shirt of the same colour, so I really think she likes Turquoise. 🙂

@@TightwadWorkshop job done! And water tight hooray!. Bit ugly with the angle grinder as it slipped but nothing a bit of paint wont hide. Thanks again.
Ha ha, that’s great . One of my issues is when I find a treadmill, I can’t resist cannibalising the motor and controller unit . Yeah, I too need to get more fit, do try to do push-ups in the morning .
Bravo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You've captured the show I want to produce every time I exercise, it always feels like it deserves a commentary.
Nice explanation of what is going on, moment by moment.
