    Those cupboard latched were like 8 dollars each last I saw

      These ones cost $4.53 per packet, but after cutting them up that gives you enough ball bearing thingies to make 4 bench dogs.

    I saw 'improved dogs' and got excited, this video was very helpful but a mild disappointment from my initial expectation

      My workbench top is only 1200x550mm. There's no way your dog would fit on that.

      No idea. It's probably just an English-language name for them.

      That sounds like a good explanation, but I think we'd have to go back in time a few hundred years to ask the guy who invented the term.
      Language is funny, "dogging" used to mean hammering wedges into place to tightly close doors or hatches on a ship, now it means something VERY different. 😀
