Even though some of the main channel vids have showcased the AI breaking in some pretty spectacular ways (cough cough 50+ divisions in a single province because all their convoys are sinking) I've still found that the AI improvements in Gotterdammerung have completely filtered me out of the game. Here's hoping some of these tips can fix my skill issue. And if they can't... uh... well, I'll cry a lot.

As somebody that stopped playing the game right before La Résistance was released, I really appreciate this video. When I got back into it around the holidays, I was really overwhelmed with everything they added. One thing I was hoping for in this video was information on the spy stuff. I tried using it in a Germany run, but I had no clue what I was supposed to do with it. In your videos I constantly hear about collaboration stuff, but I just couldn't figure out how that was supposed to work.

Ive played the game for 1000+ hours and there are still things I learned from this. 1. Clicking the conversion button in the Production tab (I thought the game did this automatically) 2. Notification for Navy 3. Doing the quick assign on planes. 4. YOU CAN QUEUE UP MIO UPGRADES!?!?!?

Nah man, the US sucks as a starter nation unless you're playing Kasierreich IMO. The US is powerful and can do anything but it also can be overwhelming for new players because they're so much to manage. Its cool if you wanna mess around and learn how to build and design stuff but to do anything war realted you also have to learn navy

You should play the game my way: everyone, possible, is on a monarchist path and no paratroopers allowed.

Bonus points for starting as US: the game design does a REALLY good job of helping you understand how National Focuses and all the "not war" stuff works, because not only are you safe for like 5 years, you also have a very obvious goal: get rid of the Great Depression Extra bonus points: even if the enemy DOES somehow reach the Americas, you have the most factories of any nation on earth, and enough fuel to basically just dump it over your enemies and set them on fire, and still have leftovers

The video that sealed the deal for me was when you decided to casually turn off Historical (big mistake) on 2017 Waking the Tiger era and proceed to fight a Comintern with Germany, Soviets, USA, Britain and a coalition of Austria Hungary and Brazil as France, alone on your own. You left that video scarred emotionally and i left dying of laughter. Also you had to annex Japan to the Philipines because they were crashing the game Mind you, this was a few weeks BEFORE artillery only. And the whole premise of the video was What if the Ardeness was impassable? (Ardeness impassable terrain mod) which turned to be USELESS.

I may not be the best to comment on this, cuz I think the game is so incredibly stupidly set up that I use console commands a lot. Having real military experience is not a good thing when you play this game. It's like when I watch "Hitler rants" and I do speak and understand passable German. It kind of ruins it's a bit. 😂😂😂 So, that said, my comment is: hearts of iron 5 would be the perfect time to fix the approximately 50% of gameplay that is either stupid, illogical or just plain dumb. It would be awesome. EDIT: in spite of being in my late 50s and having bad knees, I would consider a happy happy joy joy dance. Just sayin'... 😂

I've bought the game and No Step Back. What other DLCs do I need to unlock all the gameplay mechanics?

Ah yes, two and a half minutes of yapping about spending money on a *DLC subscription service* (hey, remember when we were anywhere between slightly upset and livid that microtransactions in general as a concept became a thing?) when, you know... unlockers exist. Worry not your lawful little heads about doing it, Paradox ain't among the ones deserving or needing a second thought when it comes to hoisting the black flag - and they know it, otherwise they'd do something about the ease with which their DLCs are unlocked. Pay them if you don't respect your wallet (the thing you supposedly "vote" with according to some, well I ain't voting for their practices) or feel like they earned it _after_ sampling the product.

Also regarding the conversion tip, always pick dispersed industry as it gives production efficiency retention so when you switch technology it doesn't lose as much. Especially with major powers who will switch tech a lot it's a must have. I think the only time concentrated industry is actu better is if you know you won't be switching technology a lot, like having very few research slots but I believe such a nation would need one slot only and most nations start with 2 so concentrated seems like a pretty niche use. I think it would be better if they made it so concentrated gives more build slots percent per state because concentrating your industry closer together it would make sense if it would make you able to put more if them in one place than dispersed but that's just me I guess
