To be fair, if your economy can't support fielding at least 100 planes, you probably shouldn't be investing in an air force anyway. In my opinion, anyway.
@@nickstoneham5629 It's mainly a problem with larger planes. Most minors can pump out 100 fighters/cas but it's gonna be a lot harder for them to pump out 100 heavy fighters or 100 strat bombers.

The thing I hate the most about the turkey and the Ethiopian tree is not only are they not fun to play they also screw your game when you’re playing a historical Soviet game and turkey declares war on you while you’re still fighting Germany. It is the most infuriating thing in the world I do not want to fight the allies at all most of the time to be honest and Ethiopia does a similar thing. it screws you over if you’re playing as the British because of the constant revolts, its actual hell! that being said, I do like the Brazil game. Sometimes I play Brazil as historical and support the allies like I do with Canada it’s pretty fun game. I don’t mind it if it’s an on historical game with the AI focuses off, but with historical focuses on, they should not do those things.
I love playing Ethiopia personally as it is a great challenge. I do think that some of the focuses are way too long though and I end up just by passing some in the console, really only the ones after the war
@Rufusdadoofus Yeah, but that's basically the problem. Both turkey and Ethiopia both suffer from this. If your nation is only viable in the late game, you're not going to have a good time. And after you beat Italy, there's really not much else to do, but I do agree that the Italy war is pretty fun. It's the same thing with the Soviets I like fighting Germany as the Soviets but I don't like fighting the allies. so I usually stop the game before then
The issue between the Greek and Turkish focus trees is that I feel like Greece should have the longer focus times, while Turkey should have the shorter, I mean imagine waiting 70 days to get a doctrine bonus, and then the other country gets a 35 day focus to core the majority of the Balkans and/or Middle East
Arms market is good and all, but I've learnt recently that even in the base game now that you've together for victory integrated, you can use the request lend lease mechanic to cheese things in the mid game. Like as long as you have like a 100-150 convoys you can just improve relations with South American minors and request them for guns and support equipment. Very useful if you're torturing yourself as Egypt to get that damn achievement, since you get like 6 civs but 3 dockyards (so enough convoys, but very limited industry) and can effectively scam Chile, Brazil and Colombia AI out of guns to build an army far larger than what would be allowed by like the 3 mils you get out of the generic focus tree.
One perhaps easier way of doing Freegypt is to use Britain to build up all the Egyptian land with some infrastructure, railways, civs, mils, and dockyards, and only then release Egypt.
Fr, it's like the best spanish civil war out there (yeah, I think it's better than in the mods) because it challenges you with the colossal wreck and chaos it was in the real life and how it really wasn't all that possible to finish the war in a couple of weeks of making snakes for the enemy's VPs.
Honestly spy agencies are really strong. That there isn't a popup of some kind to inform you that you can do stuff with the agency like there is for a research slot makes me just toss some spies in my enemy then forget about it in most of my games.
This is actually super useful because I haven’t played the game in years (been vicariously keeping up through your videos) but I want to get back into it.
My issue with the DLC is that there are still bugs and broken cores that have been in the game for years at this point the two that annoy me the most are Italy balance of power, the lost cores modifier activates regardless of what land is lost and never goes away, lossing random land in China and pacific can trigger the Italian Civil War Turkey, Ottoman path let's you make a faction with Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan via event and puppet them with the following focus, however the focus is auto bypassed if they're not already in a faction with you, and since the invite is done via event, there is a delay between it being sent and accepted while the focus is unlocked and bypassed instantly so unless you specifically set things up you will not get 3 puppets, that are guaranteed to you via focus....

My only complaint with AAT was the MIO's for Navy I swear dude upgrading the Naval MIO's and then having to let your ships upgrade for like nearly a quarter of a year just to increase AA defense by 10% is just brain hemorrhaging. The way you do the Navy MIO's is to build nice ships for a while, select all the traits you like, set the policy for extra funds gain, and then once you've gotten all the traits, only then refit all the ships. It does take a bit at that point in time, but it's only one refit round and you can take the navy bonus to increase refitting speed for 35 navy xp.

I'm surprised they didn't give all of South America focus trees because even if individually they were mediocre, the fact that they would all coherently interact with each other would have been neat.
Maybe, but considering how long this has been going on for, it sure doesn't FEEL like the sort of stuff they could have gotten done in time for initial launch
2:00 I remember the very first time I played HOI4, I played as Germany and lost to not France, not Poland, but *the Netherlands* because I had no idea how the fighting mechanics worked lmao
Good take. Maybe a tier list of the various vehicle manager equipment like heavy MGs for planes or light/heavy cruiser meta. Or a tier list for each focus tree, though that would be a hot mess and a half with how many there are. Either way, keep em coming, always fun watching your take on HOI4, both gaming-wise and input-wise
So from my understanding with the hate towards By Blood Alone, is that while there were a few small features that got changed or added that weren't overly popular, people hated the new peace conference system. Especially in regards to the AI fighting you tooth and nail for a piece of land halfway across the world, locking you out of your achievement or focus. On top of that, the border gore was way worse back then with the AI. Despite the fact that those features came out in the free patch that released alongside DLC, and had nothing to do with the DLC itself.
As someone who played with mods when I played HOI4 (Kaiserreich and Road to 56 back when that was a thing) the focus trees were always secondary to actual gameplay mechanics added with the DLCs. La Resistance making the “spying” mechanics more complicated with less proportional reward is a reason why in my opinion it’s one of the worst DLCs. Then again I haven’t had time to actually sit down and play a game since before No Step Back… I just get my fill of the game by watching you and Bo.
I like the idea of the MIOs but honestly, they never really feel worth it. I feel I can get pretty much the equivalent of what all those companies do just by adding a couple levels of engine and armor to tanks. Also, I enjoy the Italian tree but I don't like how progress is blocked by being at war with a major nation, especially fixing the military industry which would be super helpful to be able to do to get ready to fight the majors!
I hate that the only nations that have meaningfully different and unique mios are goddamn scandinavia. I get that they came with the mechanic but it’s stupid that majors only tend to get a lot of mios, but not nearly unique enough mios
Together for Victory did add 2 very important things, the spearhead order, which is much better for making encirclements with than offensive lines, and the ability to release nations as a puppet.
For BBA the plane designer isn't even a huge problem, its remembring what planes your missing, like you could spend forever making what you think is all the planes and then you realize 3 hours later that none of your carriers have naval bombers
I've been playing only base game for about 3 years, and they indeed keep updating the game mechanics and even the focus trees. When the last DLC came out, they gave the base game around 15 new focus trees for free. There are still no agencies though.
Is it a possibility for you to use this channel to post in-depth HOI4 tutorials and strategy guides? Obviously on your main channel you have to be the funny map game man but since this is still such a new channel that would be a very cool and useful series to see.
Honestly I appreciate the division guys. Allows you to promote unit leaders who got cracked bc of grinding and stuff. Super cool how you can promote a ready general
I actually love all the dlcs because personally I will always prefer a country to be playable (with a focus tree) rather than being forgotten about. Now it only comes down to personal preference and personally, Battle for the Bosporus is one of my favourites from what I've seen, because I love the countries in the pack. The focuses could be better for Greece and Turkey, but I love them.
Ethiopia has an S-tier beginning with F-tier late game. It begins with so much challenge and so many options. Like the Spanish civil war on hard mode. The war escalation is a really cool set of milestones to achieve as you slowly survive and beat the Italian invasion. It’s simple yet grueling. But beyond that WW2 has already probably been ongoing and you are isolated from the rest of the world. GG I guess? Play again?
I'm just glad we've reached the point in Hoi4's lifespan where we can honestly consider hoping the devs could squeeze in some content for a country like Iran or Venezuela without the entire community screaming bloody murder because they want an updated Italian focus tree, and being willing to lynch people with spaghetti.
Honestly, they should simply hire like 3 devs from the top 10 most popular mods and have them rework all the old DLCs. They'd have 30 devs who made some of the most in-depth and beloved mods for this game. Imagine what the KX devs could do. These people made mods objectively better than vanilla for free. It is clear that they love this game. Even for a modest sum they would accept to do it.
we just need a rework for Together for Victory and Death of Dishonor, but also Germany and Japan rework and we can add Belgium (who was at the centre of attention of ww2, not south america) and one for Austria
I actually quite liked Yugoslavia's (And regional hegemon Romania's) focus tree back when DoD released. Much more than the TfV ones, at least. I feel F is quite harsh for DoD since Focus tree's should partly be judged against the DLCs released around the same time, not current focus trees which are much better.
I'd be interested in seeing a Tier List about the most popular mods on the workshop, talking about the pros and cons of mods like Kaiserreich, Millenium Dawn, New World Order, Old World Blues, and so on.
Hey isp, love your videos bro! You’re looking at Turkey focus tree in a wrong way, going fascist is way more powerful and you can take the whole balkans pretty easily. I agree the other paths are bad, even if you do go fascist you have to justify almost all of your wars yourself, but at least your focuses make it easy to justify :) have fun bro
The "Release as Puppet" and "Play as" features when releasing a nation was in the together for victory DLC, which is kind of stupid but you had to own that DLC in order to have those two options when releasing a nation

Either way, keep em coming, always fun watching your take on HOI4, both gaming-wise and input-wise
The best focus trees offer the most freedom and movement within the tree. Basically everything opposite of the swiss tree.
Despite the fact that those features came out in the free patch that released alongside DLC, and had nothing to do with the DLC itself.
they need to make it where we can save designs of tanks and planes, its tedious
14:45 for saying that, I condemn you, ISinProductions, to capitulate the soviets without making a collab government
Death or Dishonor added the Spearhead order
@@zacharysilver911 that’s incorrect, it’s in the together for victory dlc notes
@@jeremyglass4283 Wow that’s crazy. I’m rarely wrong about stupid little things like this. That makes DoD suck even more lmao.
Field commanders should come with some traits depending on what that commander has done in combat or what kind of division they lead
... it literally does? a commander from a tank division with enough xp becomes a panzer leader
Father, we NEED the rat
i love hearing your voice because it reels relaxing. Subscribed to all three channels rn. :D
For BBA the plane designer isn't even a huge problem, its remembring what planes your missing, like you could spend forever making what you think is all the planes and then you realize 3 hours later that none of your carriers have naval bombers
New Zealand focus tree is actually bussin
Give Slop! I desire Slop!
Slop! Slop! Slop!
Finnish supremacy league into Nordic empire by mid 38 was actually kinda awesome.
"iSorrow"
I understand you, ISP.
I've been playing only base game for about 3 years, and they indeed keep updating the game mechanics and even the focus trees. When the last DLC came out, they gave the base game around 15 new focus trees for free. There are still no agencies though.
Isp's opinion on the soviet tree fills feedbackgaming's head with rage
Isorrow, Yousorrow, everyone sorrows for sorrow!
As someone who has Ethiopia in the top three nations played, man you've understated the tree imo. Its very different from a traditional nation.
Is it a possibility for you to use this channel to post in-depth HOI4 tutorials and strategy guides?
Obviously on your main channel you have to be the funny map game man but since this is still such a new channel that would be a very cool and useful series to see.
As someone who's relatively new to HOI4 and looking to buy a DLC or 2, this video couldn't have come at a better time! Thanks, iSorrow!
Really speaks to TfV’s quality that he just completely forgot an entire country’s focus tree.
Waking the Tiger also gave a Germany rework to bring the Kaiser back
This guy has potential. He’ll definitely make it big someday.
GG I guess? Play again?
when the isorrow isn't producing
Not gonna lie, I actually enjoy a lot the romanian focus tree, sure might br better but all considered you can do a lot of damage and have with it
i love armored cars but hate the intelligence agencies and focuses trees
When artilery only
thank you islopproductions!
finally someone not being a trashy hater from trial of allegiance
4:50 ISP forgetting about how romania is actually a very fun country to play in hoi4 with its balkan dominance path
Are you going to do a mod tier list ? I have a couple in mind.
Bruh I never knew there is a mini map in the corner
Romania’s focus tree’s a blast, even now
Honestly, they should simply hire like 3 devs from the top 10 most popular mods and have them rework all the old DLCs. They'd have 30 devs who made some of the most in-depth and beloved mods for this game. Imagine what the KX devs could do. These people made mods objectively better than vanilla for free. It is clear that they love this game. Even for a modest sum they would accept to do it.
"Japan is the new italian focus tree"
*God, that's the worst low possible*
remember TfV added the breakthrough order. Without that dlc you just didn't get it
Foot reveal with BokoenJuan and AlexvonRambler here we go.
Romania is the best DoD focus tree
götterdämmerung s+
I can't wait till the foot reveal on 20K.
we just need a rework for Together for Victory and Death of Dishonor, but also Germany and Japan rework and we can add Belgium (who was at the centre of attention of ww2, not south america) and one for Austria
Asia is also just generally pitiful. There needs to be more historical stuff for China, Siam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
@@孙威-k5z I’d actually agree on that
an idea for a video series: try setting a high score for yourself on the steepest k:d ratio you can get as like finland or swizerland
I agree the other paths are bad, even if you do go fascist you have to justify almost all of your wars yourself, but at least your focuses make it easy to justify :) have fun bro
have you heard that there is someone impersonating you? ISP
Foot reveal reading mein kampf artillery only at 300k subs let's go boys
The "Release as Puppet" and "Play as" features when releasing a nation was in the together for victory DLC, which is kind of stupid but you had to own that DLC in order to have those two options when releasing a nation
I love la resistsnce tbh, i really enjoyed the addition of spy agency and i really like the France having bigger Focus tree :/ for me its a B tier
