Uganda - More like Ugh!-anda
Uganda has Submarine Surveillance. There. We got that out of the way early. It has an ASW tool that you will use occasionally at best. The range means if you are close enough to use it, you are often about to be sunk. But it has it. Everything else about this ship is middle of the road, at best. And the weapon systems are near, or at (torpedoes) the bottom of the pack when compared to other cruisers of the same tier. This is a ship to use your Free XP to pass right over, imo. Thanks for watching and as always, your comments and questions are welcome and appreciated!

Delhi - I Actually Enjoyed This Ship!
Переглядів 15914 днів тому
While it does not have the "best" of much at all, I feel the ship is pretty well rounded. You have fast reloading guns, long-range hard-hitting torpedoes, and a rolling smoke that is a lot of fun once you get the hang of using it. (Stay at 1/4 speed to remain unseen.) And you also have Submarine Surveillance (I did not get to use it in this game) which is very handy when in a game loaded with s...
T-22 - Favorite T5 Tech-Tree DD?
Переглядів 9214 днів тому
I have a lot of choices at T5 that are not tech-tree ships. But many players do not. So, I wanted to highlight some ships everyone has available without spending any money. I did two videos on Minekaze. And one on the Podvoisky. And now, perhaps my favorite T-5 tech-tree DD: T-22. It has hard-hitting AP that shreds broadside light cruisers, solid torpedoes with 7.5km range, and a mere 5.7km det...
Podvoisky - T5 Gunboating DD Primer
Переглядів 7721 день тому
Is Podvoisky the "best" tech-tree DD at Tier 5? I can't make that claim. But the guns are solid and, if you have to get close, the torpedoes really hurt. As promised in a recent couple of videos about the T5 Minekaze, I wanted to offer a gunboat DD for those looking for a direct fire alternative to the heavily torpedo-reliant sort of DD. Next video will be what is perhaps my favorite of the T5 ...
Aslain's Modpack Primer
Переглядів 4721 день тому
I have had quite a few people ask me about Aslain's Modpack. I did a couple videos on the Modstation a couple years back, which is also available and does many of the same things. I switched to Aslain's because he tends to update things sooner than WG update the Modstation. I used to use Aslain's years ago. Switched to Modstation because some years back WG made a point of saying only the Modsta...
Derfflinger - Rocket and His 7-Kill Miracle!
Переглядів 28721 день тому
Derfflinger is not a good ship. In fact, I would call it a straight up bad ship. lol. But Rocket positions himself well, shows patience, selects targets wisely, and has a phenomenal game despite the challenge of playing the Derp-flinger! Thanks for watching and as always, your comments and questions are welcome and appreciated!
Agincourt - Decent Secondaries
Переглядів 6528 днів тому
Agincourt has great secondary guns for the tier. But getting to use them can be very tricky in an environment where players YOLO rush with torps in nearly every game. Still, if you find yourself having one, or facing one in a game, it is helpful to have some idea of the capabilities of the ship. Getting close to one can cost you a lot of HP. Thanks for watching and as always, your comments and ...
Minekaze - T5 Torpedo DD "How-To" #2
Переглядів 108Місяць тому
Took me a while to get this video finished. But with apologies, here is the second of two videos about the Minekaze. Though not the terror of the seas it once was, even these less effective torpedoes can be enough against cruisers that push too close. Great stealth can help overcome very slow torpedoes that do not hit very hard, and guns that take for-e-ver to load. Thanks for watching and as a...
Minekaze - T5 Torpedo DD "How-To" #1
Переглядів 360Місяць тому
Someone suggested that I create something of a "Best Of Tier" series. I thought it would be helpful to the few new players that might come across it. So, I will be working on this series over time. I have one more Minekaze video, then will probably do a video or two on the German T-22, which I think is a very good tech-tree T5 DD. Then I will likely focus on a couple gunboat DDs at the same tie...
Petropavlovsk - rbelenos Makes Petro Sing!
Переглядів 136Місяць тому
Petropavlovsk is a great ship. But as is generally the case, the captain is what really matters. And rbelenos really knows how to play a heavy cruiser. I have another of his replays in Petro, and one in Puerto Rico, that I look forward to highlighting for you here at some point. In this game we see him essentially take on the red team more or less by himself, with an assist from the friendly CV...
Toulon - It's a Difference Maker
Переглядів 1502 місяці тому
Toulon was initially a ship I tried but failed to enjoy or do well with. As I often will, I circled back to it with some fresh ideas. And I am so glad I did! A new commander, with different skills, along with a little better perspective on how to play the ship to its strengths, provided me some very fun games. This is a looooong video, with detailed info about the ship, ship module selections, ...
October Revolution - Joe Sets Up the Win!
Переглядів 662 місяці тому
October Revolution hits very hard for the tier. Especially at close range. And in this match we get the chance to see that firsthand. Joe plays a solid game and positions his teammate to secure the win! (Three mics here, and had the wrong one active, so the commentary volume and sound will be less than optimum!) Thanks for watching and as always, your comments and questions are welcome and appr...
Harugumo - Not a Cap Contester? lol
Переглядів 642 місяці тому
It's not often that Harugumo is used to pick up capture points. But in this game Segaby_Revano picks up not one, not two, not three, but FOUR caps all by himself before the game ends. Which is truly amazing given what you will hear me read from the WoWS Wiki; "Harugumo is NOT a capture-point contesting destroyer." And on top of that he sinks two red ships, lands almost 400 HE shells, 4 hard-hit...
Jäger - Tiny Killer
Переглядів 632 місяці тому
Jäger is a terrific destroyer. And very fun to play. Whether by stealth, torpedoes, spotting, or some combination of all of three, it can help your team to victory. Just don't forget, staying unseen is critical. Getting caught by a DD gunboat can mean a quick trip back to port. Many are faster than Jäger, so positioning is very important in order to avoid being chased down by something like a M...
Groningen - Bland and Situational (Commander/Build Info + Highlights)
Переглядів 752 місяці тому
Groningen is essentially a Dutch Friesland. Pretty much the same ship in every respect. And while it can be effective, it lacks any sort of alpha-strike at all. I found the ship to be, in a word, boring. I dislike playing it for the same reason I dislike playing the U.S. DD Sherman. Your best chance for damage is to find a spot where your teammates can spot for you, smoke up, and try to land sh...

Loyang - Reliable and Comfortable. But Power Crept.
The ship is fine for it's teir. Had no problem with it.
I am glad to know there is someone who thinks it is not terrible. :-) Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
If it looks like a dog, smells like a dog, barks like a dog, and pees on fire hydrants, then it's a dog.
Mmhmm. Exactly. Thanks, Joe! <O
Ha that's how I feel about Vasteras, total yuk! Bad when top tier, Horrible in same tier, and Catastrophic when out tiered. You did a good job of doing what you can though! GG
Thanks, brother! Much appreciated! <O
I found Delhi to be very strong, but the Hobart wasn't anywhere near as good. After grinding the whole line, overall they feel clumsy and much without purpose.
I admit that I skipped right over Hobart and went to the Uganda. It does appear (in line with your "without purpose" comment) that the line is designed to help against submarines as a first priority, making them somewhat less useful than other ships of the same tier in terms of damage potential and game impact beyond sinking subs. Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
@@icopgaming the high tiers are pretty good damage farmers. The problem is they feel like a worse version of Goliath. With regards to ASW, it doesn't feel good enough to warrant being called ASW ships. I think Zao has better ASW capabilities than Cerberus and Zao isn't exactly a monster against subs. Radar is more useful again subs since you can actually spot them on the surface and force spot them if combined with your own sub. This lines sub surveillance doesn't have enough range or duration to be effective and the ships themselves are too fragile to get close to a sub.
Love your Commentary
Thanks, brother! Really appreciate you spending time here! <O
The real downside of Delhi and the line is the slow traverse of the turrets. They make Pensacola's look speedy. 🙂 But the guns seem to be accurate as witnessed by your hit rate. I may have to give Delhi a run after watching your video. Of course, at T5 now you either get a team full of bots or you are bottom tier to a bunch of T7s. I was in Agincourt the other day and was the only T5 BB on my team. I'll take the bot games over that!
Hi Joe!
Yeah. Gotta use the module and commander skill to make it a little better. Range is not long enough to just sit 20km away and never have to turn like you can with some other cruisers. :-)
Hi Tim! <O (I know I am not Joe, but still. lol)
Been awhile I have seen one of your videos still very good and the narrative put on the screen is verg good
Thanks, brother! I sincerely appreciate your kind words! <O
I would have never known about the AP. Thanks for the info.
Happy to help! <O
The bots cheat lol I about fell off my chair when you said that ha ha. An 18 1/2 minute tier 5 match these days? Rare. Great game.
So glad you enjoyed that little bit of humor! Thanks very much for watching and commenting, brother! <O
GG Ronin, T-22 is a great all rounder and handles being uptiered pretty well too. I’ll try the AP as you suggested, didnt realise the HE was so weak tbh. Fun ship
Thanks, brother! Really appreciate you watching and commenting! The AP can even do some damage against angled opponents if you aim for superstructure. <O
Good DD. Well played!
Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! <O
Well played🎉good job
Thank you, brother! I appreciate you watching and commenting! <O
I've often wondered why he has not gotten a Microsoft subscription for his app. I'm sure the warnings keep a lot of people from using Aslain.
Probably true. I have never had an issue. But many will likely not try it, seeing it as a potential risk.
I don't play DDs very much but I like playing the gunboats more than the torpedo boats. Thanks for sharing.
Gunboats are (imo) much more consistent. Torpedoes are a roll of the dice pretty much every time. Thanks, brother! <O
360 degree turrets are V-nice, they allow you to switch sides in being dodgy and still maintain all of your fire power. GG!
Agreed! Perfect for the run and gun Russian DD play style. Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! <O
Hello Ronin really enjoyed your video as always very informative
Glad you enjoyed it, brother! Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
Getting Agincourt into a brawl with another T5 battleship is always fun as your secondaries work on burning the enemy to the waterline. As for Tier 5, I find it to be either full of bots during the day or bottom tier with T7s ready and willing to send you swimming. But, a fun ship to play when bottom tier is Rio de Janeiro with her HE burning the T7s. People can get upset when you pound them with Rio's HE or Agincourt's secondaries. I love playing both ships. As a side note, I fought against Flea_CDP (top of the board in your battle) not too long ago. He is a Phoenix specialist with over 5000 battles in her. We were in a ducking, dodging, weaving 1 on 1 brawl until our Clemson joined the fight on his other flank. I was glad to have the help. 😁
Yeah, that guy plainly has the ship dialed in pretty well. :-) Thanks for watching and commenting, Joe! Always love reading your comments! <O
nice
Thanks, brother! <O
I have always enjoyed Podvoisky. Good video.
Thanks, brother! I appreciate you watching and commenting! <O
cool!
He really did have a great game! Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
I've been playing the game too much and got behind on the videos. Nice watching this one despite the fact I don't get along with Minekaze at all. Actually, the same can be said for me and DDs in general. Perhaps I'll play them more after watching these. Tks Ronin!
Thanks a million, Joe! Always appreciate your comments, brother! <O
Very nice I've never seen any of this.
Thanks for saying that, brother! Mods can add so much additional information to the game. At this point, if I am forced to play without them (might happen immediately after an update for some mods) I feel like I am wearing metaphorical blinders. But Aslain is great about adding updated mods, which you are told with his updater in your port (if you have that mod active), as soon as possible. He might have two or three updates in a single day following an update. He really does a great job of bringing us updates to the mods as quickly as possible.
Great game, Rocket! Excellent video and narration, Ronin!
Thank you, brother! Much appreciated! <O
Nice video; I do love my Agincourt. Her secondaries are painful against those that get too close, although on the flip side those guns don't seem to help much versus carrier aircraft and subs - much like in real life I suppose. Still, a great ship :)
It's a fun ship to play. And at lower tiers opponents are sometimes willing to get close enough for the secondaries to get some work done. Thanks for watching and commenting, @TheDeadbone1961! Much appreciated!
Great game Rocket , made the Derfflinger look like a good ship to have . 7 Kills with that thing , wow . Thanks for your presentation of it all Ronin . Well done .
Thanks for watching and for your kind words, brother! Much appreciated! <O
Independance (and Yorktown) are fun to play, both offer aircraft smoke screens thus "team-play". Independance has good speed and great conceal but the planes are awful. I played them mostly in Operations in trying to improve my AA game "by spying" in seeking CVL weaknesses. (and in healing my damn hand) I actually enjoyed both and particularly Yorktown for its decent aircraft. """I know, Off subject here but, GG to my ICOP Brothers here!""" I hurt my damn hand again and have had to sloooow down-playing the game much in the last week. Getting better/healing up. Still thinking about resetting a line for Research points, not much I want in that respect but I guess the Daring mod would be worth the effort. Got the Halland mod which was well worth it. A fast Halland? Yep, very fast including acceleration like a bat out of hell lol. I now like my most hated ship ha. Still just a damn torp boat though! In the games I played with her the AA was "incredible" Boom! Not sure why you struggled with that: My setup? Maybe why: her research mod speed did help a-lot-lot-lot in the AA game too. Cheers Dutch_Tiger Robert
I have not spent much time with the Indy, but it looks like the torpedoes are very closely spaced when dropped. As for my Halland game with only 6 aircraft shot down; the newish Super CV (Stupor CV?) aircraft with rocket boosters and increased HP can get in, make a drop for big damage, and be gone before you can shoot much down. It's not always that way, of course. But some games... it's awful. But I did manage to shoot down over 50 aircraft playing Halland a day or two ago against a T10 CV, which was pretty nice. All of that said, I still think AA is much less effective, especially in ships that are set up for it, than it was before the CV rework began. I have not picked up the Halland legendary mod. Sounds like it might be worth the effort. And finally, take care of that hand brother. Get yourself all healed up soon. Respects. <O
@@icopgaming You are entirely correct that against a Super CV even Halland gets beat up. The Halland research mod is awesome. 1. The extra consumable frees up your superintendent skill to be used as "other". 4 is enough, 5 is too much? 2. The HP restoration buff seems to eliminate non-reparable damage "too". That's kind of crazy and very beneficial. 3. The 8% added to the consumable speed boost got me to 42.3+ knots and doesn't shorten its action time. The acceleration is incredible BTW even from a dead stop, WOW! How TF? Holy crap! & Bye-bye! Think what that does for Halland... Yeah! 4. It goes in slot 6 so you don't lose conceal but of course you'll lose your normal take. It's definitely worth it at least for my open water playstyle although in it being mostly a torp boat, I still don't play it much but with this mod I'll at least play it "sometimes". Your patient sneaky playstyle would benefit hugely with this mod. Cheers: Robert
Thanks for the added info, brother! Much appreciated!
Funny, I'd almost consider taking turret over the speed mod on this one... interesting.
Would be an interesting experiment. I did not take the turret traverse increase because I played the ship a bit like a cruiser. Stay at range. Look for the best target. Try to land big broadside shots. Getting in close where you need the traverse rate would be fun to try. Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
Keep up the great commentary Ronin really good
Thank you, brother! I appreciate your participation and feedback! <O
I took Agincourt into the Utah Beach operation and got 10 kills with the secondaries. If you can get close enough, they are murder.
Yeah. This video really does not do them justice. Also, 10 kills! Wow! <O
@@icopgaming Against the SBs, it wasn’t hard.
Agincourt (in 1415 as I recall) is where the middle finger 1st came to be. The French outnumbered the English by literal multiples and told the English to surrender or they would cut off their middle finger (because you couldn't be a Warrier without it and especially you couldn't operate the English Long Bow of which the French hated because it could penetrate even the best armor of the richest French Warriers. (Give them the bird meant shoot them with an arrow (feathers, right?)) Guess how the British (Oops English) responded? Yep they all displayed their middle fingers and loudly proclaimed, "come and get it". The English won the battle of Agincourt if you wondered. Damn I love history! lol There's more to the story but that's a good short version GG by the way!
Thanks for the history lesson, brother! <O
Still up to this day showing TWO fingers is interpreted as "go f... yourself" :)
What game mods are you running?
Hi @NickGonsalves! I am running over 20 various mods. Honestly can't remember them all by name. Used the WG Modstation for years, but switched back to Aslain's Modpack not long ago, as he often updates things a bit more quickly. Maybe I will do a vid on what I am using now. Already have a couple vids here on the Modstation. So, I probably should make at least one on Aslain's. Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
@@icopgaming specifically for ship angle, Badopst mod not available anymore
I don't have a mod that shows me the actual firing angles, brother. Not sure there is one. But if so, I have not used it. I think the wowsft.com site used to show firing angles. But that site is not around anymore. Wish I could offer you more info about where to find firing angles for each turret. But if it exists, I have no idea where to find it. <O
If you mean the angle of your target relative to you, and your angle to the target, for firing purposes, I am using the Battle Expert v2, centered, mod. Can hardly play without it anymore. <O
Fun battle to watch. It almost makes me want to play an IGN torpedo boat. 🙂
Heheheh... "Almost." :-)
Hello can i send you my replay ? 😊😊
You bet! You can find me on Discord or email the replay file to: icop.na@gmail.com <O
Very nice game, especially the kill on the Gremy. Excellent work and a great video.
Thanks very much, brother. Much appreciated! <O
Great game Joe . Lots of good action , I enjoyed your commentary once again Ronin . I sure hope they find a way to attract new players. Its certainly not the price . Ive been trying to get a good friend of mine to play but he keeps saying its to slow for him . Once your in a battle its anything but slow , I say . I think he just has a mental block against it . Thanks Ronin
Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! As for the game being slow... in my opinion the time between shots, maneuvering and positioning, are filled with a lot of calculations that make the time pass very quickly. Where was the last known position of that red ship on the mini-map? Where might it be now? If I was playing it, where would I have gone? How should I position my ship to gain maximum advantage when I spot him? Should I have HE or AP shells ready? Or torpedoes? There are a lot of decisions that are more or less constantly made that can mean victory or a quick trip back to port. For those who only want to point and click, a game like this probably does seem slow. If you are not filling the time with careful consideration, there is a lot of dead space. Respects. <O
Great game ICOP and as always an informative commentary . Im currently running the Akatsuki T7 . Im having lots of fun with it . I really like the Japanese DD line . Thanks
Like you, I am a big fan of the IJN torpedo DD line. Akatsuki is a favorite of mine. So much so that I have a 21-pt commander in that ship. hehe. It is an absolute beast. Thank you for watching and for your kind comments!
Tier 5 is soooo slow lol. I play Visby every now and again. I've Weak commanders in low tier ships too so sometimes no conceal. Fun for the old maps though. Very Well played, Seriously that was v-nice! Cheers: Dutch :-)
It's pretty sobering to go from playing high-tier ships with 21-pt commanders to a T5 with maybe a 10-pt commander, for sure! I really do get that. Frustrating. hehe. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting, brother! <O
Good game ICOP. The reload and turret traverse on the IJN DD's is always a frustration for me and at times, can be uncomfortable to play, especially in DD gun fight. It's about time WG reviewed the torp line.
I agree that the IJN DD line could use some help. A little more speed on the turret traverse would make the line much more enjoyable to play, I think. As I think was pretty evident in this replay, it is very challenging to land shots when the ship itself can turn faster than the turrets. I am not suggesting that the turrets should be as fast as the US DD Nicholas (12s/180-degree traverse). But at 30s/180-degree traverse, the Minekaze turrets turn at the same rate we see from most battleships. While this may be based on historical fact (?) it does make the guns much more challenging to use. A 20s/180-degree traverse would still be higher than most other T5 DDs (maybe all other?) but would be much better. Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! <O
9 Citadels , Sweet . Good ship . Great watch , thanks Ronin .
Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! So glad you enjoyed the vid! <O
I occasionally play the Minekaze. A nice change to play low tier and against normal ships.
I could not agree more. I have been in a bit of a rut playing T10 almost entirely. Thanks for watching and commenting! <O
Excellent tip about deselecting before loosing torpedoes on bots!
Glad it was helpful!
Every now and then I play tier 5 Visby. thing handles like a Ferrari but everything else seems like a slow-mo time warp lol. Best thing about tier 5 though is "new maps" well... old maps that I never see anymore of which some are pretty awesome. Cheers: Dutch
Yeah. New maps for higher tiers would be such a godsend for this game. T7 used to be my favorite tier to play. But these days, it's a painful experience. I play mostly T9-T10. But even that can be brutal when facing "Super" (stupor?) ships. Thanks for watching and commenting, brother!
Ronin, I don't really play anymore but funny thing. I still enjoy watching the videos. Appreciate the video and hope you are doing well my friend.. I think I sold my Minekaze many moons ago.
I totally get it. I am so glad you enjoyed the video, my friend! I hope you will visit regularly. Thanks for watching and commenting, brother!
Great game rbelenos .14 Cits , wow . Very informative talk Ronin . Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Really appreciate you watching and commenting, brother! <O
Super nice game, rebelnos!!! Petro is on my list of top ships to play and you gave us on a lesson on how to play it well. Thanks for sharing.
He really does know how to make good use of a heavy cruiser. I have a few more of his replays in the wings and look forward to posting them here. :-)
Very well played game! Great video! I’ve never had a Petro, but I find them very hard to kill with anything.
Very tough ship to counter if played well. Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! <O
I forgot how much damage I took at the beginning. I shouldn't have survived that match lol
It really was very nearly a, "Well, I guess I am going back to port now," game. lol. But you absolutely SMASHED. Thanks for sending me the replay, brother! <O
Hmm, great game. but it is an OP ship. Only running 2 heals though?
It's very tough, for sure. <O
Now that there was a great game!
He really did play a great game. Especially after eating so much damage early. And a +1 to the friendly CV player for the well-timed smoke! <O
Interesting ship and good game. 28 sec reload though...
Yeah, that reload ultimately caused me to play the ship very differently than when I started with it. <O
