  • October Revolution hits very hard for the tier. Especially at close range. And in this match we get the chance to see that firsthand. Joe plays a solid game and positions his teammate to secure the win! (Three mics here, and had the wrong one active, so the commentary volume and sound will be less than optimum!) Thanks for watching and as always, your comments and questions are welcome and appreciated!

Great game Joe . Lots of good action , I enjoyed your commentary once again Ronin . I sure hope they find a way to attract new players. Its certainly not the price . Ive been trying to get a good friend of mine to play but he keeps saying its to slow for him . Once your in a battle its anything but slow , I say . I think he just has a mental block against it . Thanks Ronin

Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! As for the game being slow... in my opinion the time between shots, maneuvering and positioning, are filled with a lot of calculations that make the time pass very quickly. Where was the last known position of that red ship on the mini-map? Where might it be now? If I was playing it, where would I have gone? How should I position my ship to gain maximum advantage when I spot him? Should I have HE or AP shells ready? Or torpedoes? There are a lot of decisions that are more or less constantly made that can mean victory or a quick trip back to port. For those who only want to point and click, a game like this probably does seem slow. If you are not filling the time with careful consideration, there is a lot of dead space. Respects.

This was one of my first games after taking a 2.5 year break. I will say, some things (like remembering to use the RMB during times of high stress) are not like riding a bike. :-} As for the game, in addition to fewer players now, WG has made it really easy for new players to quickly move up the tech tree. Far too many of these players choose the higher tier matches without learning the basic mechanics of the game. Not only does their poor play frustrate seasoned players, their lack of participation in the lower tiers has created almost a brawl effect where teams are composed of 75% bots. I play a lot of lower tier games, and often times the human players are very experienced. Obviously the guy in this match playing the Arkansas has been around since the early days of the game. I must say, however, that coming back from the long break from the game allowed me to really notice how much fun the game is to play despite the obvious (at least to us old timers) flaws. Thanks to @atctimmy who gave me Oct Rev and to Ronin for sharing my comeback to WOWS.

Gloom and doom lol. Yes I wait a-lot longer for games to fill up.
There's a-lot of blow out games many lasting only/less than 10 minutes and that's higher tier matches, many only have 9 players too.
WoW has really screwed up so many times now that the game is falling apart in so far as the number of players
However: Winter is over so that's at least somewhat normal/usual BUT the player base overall is getting thinner and is definitely less skilled.
Truly good games are becoming less and less common.
    GG here though!

Glad to know I am not alone in that view. But it's sad to see things continue to move in what I consider the wrong direction.
