WOWSIE, You got bombed good and proper Mark. Carolina Rose is so very kind and generous; what a wonderful parcel of goodies. Is that yer first Lovat? A member of the Canadian family of pipes styles; so very appropriate that you have at least one of those. Really cool that Alex got you some Rich Dark Honeydew and Condor samples; he is also a very kind, generous and top shelf fella. I was lucky enough enough to purchase some R.D.H-D at JJ Fox in London when my wife and I last visited the UK. At that time you couldn't buy it in the US; I'm glad that changed as it is lovely baccy. Congrats on the GAW win and serene smokes. Gary
Great prize package from Caroline Rose. Enjoy it Mark, Janez
@@pipetobak Thanks Janez, such a thoughtful package from Rose. Lots of goodies. Regards Mark
Great video Mark. I am a big fan of the Tinderbox Wiltshire blend. As well as their Sherlock. Wiltshire is supposed to be the same as Lane limited Q1. Cheers Ron
@@ronaldpoppe3774 Thanks Ron, first time trying any Tinderbox blends or 1Q. Looking forward to it.

Hello Mark. Rose certainly knows how to pack a box of goodies and a lot of thought goes into them too, but its always great to see someone’s reaction when they get a YABO and the smile on your face on this one said it all. Have a great day my friend.
@@PiperX1X it was wonderful to see!
@@PiperX1X Hello Jonathan. Wow, does she ever know how to pack a box of goodies. 😀 Such a thoughtful GAW. I felt like a kid at Christmas. Regards Mark
Wilshire is Lane 1Q. Lane sells 1Q to Tinder box and they rebrand it as Wilshire. It is my understanding that you can no longer buy Wilshire from Tinder box. Not sure if they dropped Lane or if Lane dropped them.
@@HoosierMarshal that would be too bad, if so.
@@HoosierMarshal Very interesting, thanks for the information. I have never had 1Q, but have always heard lots about the blend. Looking forward to trying it. Regards Mark

Some great goodies there Mark! , condor is the only blend I can buy locally in Ireland, I'm slowly starting too enjoy it!
@@conallgriffin7261 Thank you, was a very nice package of goodies. Condor is not available here in Canada sadly, but it is definitely a favourite of mine. Perhaps it’s my Irish heritage that makes me enjoy it so much. Regards Mark

Hello Mark! We have warmed up to -3 F this morning as I watch you (Tuesday). Enjoy your rambles ...
Thank for watching Dave. We are definitely in some cold weather this week, but oddly enough I enjoy it. All the best Mark
You just can't beat slow cooked Venison stew! Love it. That same cold front came through here too. It was colder than -20c the last few days, we have above freezing daytime temps later this week. The weather all winter has been up and down. Enjoy the pipe Mark. Good not to be in the wifes way when shes cleaning, lol. Have a good week.
Howdy Mark! Boy u a different kind of animal saying 6 degrees is mild 😂 we got down to 5 degrees in the early morning hrs and I'm all but hugging the wood stove 🤣 well I'm not that bad but it's definitely a chill for me lol I enjoyed the video 👍

Hi ya, Mark....Long time no see. Haven't had a PC for quite a spell, but I'm back and now I have to remember how to post video to my channel. Going to -22 tomorrow night, yuck! I've just about finished the last of my stash; some 2015 vintage Pirate Kake. I went to my corner store the other day to get something to smoke; I couldn't believe it; all they had was Borkum Riff, yuck, and get this, it was $60 for 50g......I nearly had a second heart attack. Are the prices as bad on the east coast as they are here in Quebec? Here's another lesson I learned, I am not legally allowed to buy tobacco from another province, only within Quebec. Guess I'll have to give Blatter & Blatter in Montreal a call and see if they still have their house blends. I recall they used to have a very nice mild English. Enjoy your Peterson.
@@danielsidaway719 Good to hear from you and welcome back. Yes the prices here are crazy with tins getting close to $80 and that if you can find any. Not many options here anymore all the tobacconist have closed mostly due to the government restrictions. Regards Mark
Parsnip is an under appreciated vegetable!
@@Dose_Of_Dad I really enjoy parsnips and yes I agree. Regards Mark
Ya, we got that polar air last night, -15C this morning so no siting outside today. I just learned the Mac Baren's is finished - bought by STG. I must be the last to hear about these things so I've been looking to get some stuff that won't be available soon. I do like S.G's St James Flake and Squadron Leader but I haven't tried Bothy Flake. I'll have to give it ago. Cheers Mark.
@@86beeman It’s gonna be a cold one. Yes, I would say stock up on what blends you like if you can find them. I am yet to try St James Flake, I had Squadron years ago and it was good. Regards Mark

Good too see ya Mark yeah no fun this weather especially when one has to drive in the freezing conditions some black ice about keep safe pal.
@@welshpiper62 Good to hear from you Mark. Drive safely at work. Regards Mark
That stew sounds a lot better than the cardboard pizza I’m currently eating Mark, can’t beat some quiet time with a pipe, it’s like chewing on leather!😂 last time I had venison was when I ran one over fortunately my cousin was following so he grabbed it as the law stated that if a person hit a deer technically it was illegal to claim it for themselves but the following car could, crazy I know but apart from one quarter the rest was ok as we bled it straight away, it takes some beating does venison it really does. Have a good week fella.
@@PiperX1X It was a delicious stew and so much better when you harvest the meat yourself. If I could send you some I certainly would. Have a great week Regards Mark
What kind of pipe is it and where can I get it?
Hi Mark. We had above freezing yesterday and over night the bitter cold set in. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your meal.

Good to see ya. Love the classic style of that pipe. I've never tried the Bothy Flake, but I just got some G&H Balkan Flake and it smells like a blacksmith's forge. Peaty and smoky and just beautiful. That stew sounds lovely. Never thought of adding Guinness to a stew, but will have to try it. I'm Irish, after all. Hope you enjoyed your bookish afternoon. I'm about to have a similar reading evening.
@@PolyporePiper Hello Naomi, if you get the chance to pick up a tin of Bothy, I would recommend it. That Balkan Flake sounds good, definitely a great time of year to enjoy the full flavour blends. I have been adding a can of Guinness to my stews for a while now and it’s tasty. Lots of recipes online. Enjoy your evening reading. Regards Mark PS, keep an eye on your mailbox 😀
Hiyas Mark, Yer Sunday sounds idyllic to me; a great pipeful followed by a tasty stew and perhaps a wee dram later. My wife made a big cast iron pot worth of chili yesterday; it should be prime eating tonight. I took your advice and let my Bothy Flake sit out to dry a bit; I was afraid that I'd lose that lovely peaty/whisky note if i did. No worries, it was an excellent bowl. My Hardcastle Zulu love that blend. 😊 Enjoy the remainder of yer weekend, serene smokes ✓ Gary
@@oldandintheway1955 Hello Gary, hope you’re enjoying your Sunday also. Ah chilli, like a stew always seems to taste better the next day. Hope you enjoy it. I have a Hardcastle Zulu on the way, couldn’t hold off any longer. Perhaps I will save the last of the Bothy for that pipe. Regards Mark
there is definitely an art to smoking a pipe, an art I'm slowly learning.
@@thecleverpeasant3006 Once you get it figured out and what works for you it can be a lot of fun. There’s a little frustration and learning curve, but it can be a nice change from cigars and a little more flexible when it comes to time.
