Excellent hunt Mark! I know exactly what you mean about having a commitment later in the day. You don't feel like you can fully lend yourself to the hunt...It's always in the back of your mind. Thanks for sharing👍
Looks like lovely weather to open up bird season. Seeing the happiness in your face just being out there is wonderful. Congrats on the duck and here's hoping the grouse are less elusive!
@@PolyporePiper Thank you, sometimes it’s the simple pleasures of a beautiful morning outside (as you know) I think the pipe also adds to the feeling. We enjoyed the duck for supper. Regards Mark

Great scenery nice colors in the trees. Looks like some good grouse cover. Congratulations on your duck. Hope your dog is feeling better soon. I had a citori back in the 70s. More content like this would be most appreciated. Cheers Ron

Hi Mark, always look forward to your fall videos while you hunt in the woods. I enjoyed the sample of Thanksgiving Day, I may order some this year as well. Here’s to a great fall! Cheers, Alex
Hiyas Mark, What a beautiful location coupled with a sunny, cool day. I bought some LJ Peretti "Thanksgiving" last year; I thought it was good but hoped it would improve with some age on it. I'm glad to hear your positive thoughts on your 3 year old sample. Serene smokes, Gary
@@oldandintheway1955 Thanks Gary. It was a beautiful morning to be outside in the woods. Thanksgiving Day certainly seems to get better with age, at least the stuff I have. I may have to order more this year. Regards Mark
Hello Mark, nice that you can finally get out doing what you love, pity those grouse were sitting tight and hiding in those branches. Nice Browning you have there too although I’ve always been a side by side bloke, it’s what you are use too and feel more comfortable shouldering. Glad the pouch is coming in useful. Have a great week and enjoy that duck.
@@PiperX1X Ho Jonathan, absolutely love the pouch, use it regularly. Fits perfectly in the pocket. The grouse won today but we will meet many times yet. We actually had the duck for supper and tasted great. Regards Mark

Spectacular Mark. Just beautiful. I wish that I had someone to teach me to hunt when I was young. Autumn mornings in the woods to me are a sliver of heaven on earth. I've never tried any LJ Peretti blend. I might pick up some Thanksgiving Day this year. How do you prepare your black duck? I hear they're like goose - very fatty. Is that true? Cheers
@@BullmoosePiper Autumn mornings are special, thank you. We had the duck for supper breasted out and cut in strips for a stir fry. Mature larger ducks I tend to pluck and roast. Not as greasy as a goose, sometimes it’s all about how waterfowl is cooked. Roast a goose on a bed of onions to drain the fat and bacon on top to keep it from drying out. Yum! LOL Have a good one Mark
