Daily Rider Nonsense from Zac at RevZilla!!!
LiveWire S2 Del Mar hit piece resulting from RevZilla placing vendor relationships ahead of their customers. Zac should know better. LiveWire continues to introduce revolutionary electric motorcycles that offer us the only future for our sport. There is no future in gas bikes and RevZilla needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

    Uneducated on rare earth minerals and the co2 footprint to get them to market...😂 this is why hillbillies will never listen to the need for newer tech to get around..your either lying or just dont know.. a simple hoogle search will set u straight. How to you think these batteries get to market? Slave labor and killing Parts of the earth that will.take 500 years to repair itself

  • @dasshape00

    How many tons of CO2 is dumped into the air, getting out the rare earth minerals out of the ground, to have this electric bike? you need to be counting that also.. its worse then gas cars.. strip mining the ground in poor countries. With big dozziers and huge dumb trucks and excavators.. and the ships to ship it to where ever to make these batteries... your killing the plantet way worse then using gas. Especially now we have clean emissions in the west.. apples to apples.. electric fans never considered any of this and dont care... im all in on electric.. but lets not act like its good for the environment..or even better...

    Agree 👍 This bike and the S2 Mulholland that just came out were designed for congested cities with abundant level 2 charging, and those that aren’t going 100 miles a day, or care fuck all about group rides. No shifting, no clutch, no gears, instant torque, is worth every penny, and very practical for urban commuters. Yes, there’s a premium for being in the EV space because it’s new technology backed by Harley Davidson with proper dealer support. For those that have a level 2 home charger and a charger at work, you’re essentially paying cents to charge to full for a 20-30 mile round trip, you’ll probably pay $60 for the entire year with zero maintenance. All the ICE heads in the comments are triggered because they don’t like strong opinions about electric motorcycles being better than gas. It is better and far more efficient when you use the bike for its intended purpose.

  • @dankosek4274
    @dankosek4274 Місяць тому

    The Del Mar is still too expensive… I can buy a good number of iCE bikes in the $6-10K range and the Del Mar is still 2x that cost. A price premium for being electric is not realistic. This model needs to be $12-13K, including a base charger. Level 2 and 3 charger options needs to be available thru the dealer too. The better aftermarket seat should be standard and that appears to be the only other complaint I have been able to find. I recently found a used one for 12K and now I’m seriously considering buying it, even though it will take a long trip to pick it up.

    Great video, and I agree Zac was looking it through an ICE lens. It doesn't make any sense to get these reviews from people who don't own electric bikes. They fixate on things that don't matter (e.g. highlighting the 15K pricetag, without knowing what the cost of ownership is going to be like)

    Thank you for sharing. I recently purchased a new 2022 LiveWire One. I am a very happy Ford Mach-e GT owner and this platform has set my personal expectation of EV performance, reliability, connectivity and range as advertised by the manufacturer. LiveWire One's hardware is amazing. The fit and finish, components and build quality are of a premium motorcycle. The connectivity and software support on the other hand are wanting. This week my servicing dealer did a software upgrade on a new bike, so now it will charge at an Electify America charge point without a phone call to an in house tech support. But! A big but, my iPhone 15 pro will not pair and the LiveWire App will not activate, still. My Mach-e ownership has taught me how important connectivity is, so I wonder what's it worth?

    Well said Jack, I totally agree, some people have no idea, bike is amazing and the power in that 0 to 60 makes it very safe for street and commuting, I would say 0 to 80mph because I ride the freeway all the time too, lane splitting KING, bike has way too much torque and the Bosch electronics are a must and they work so well on all these new bikes. This is the most maintenance free, fun, torque monster, agile, and best commuter period. Nice pic, I may know that guy… lol

    I must say considering how overall positive Zac was on the Del Mar, I feel like calling his vid a "hit piece" is a bit unhinged...if anything this ridiculous response vid is the actual hit piece. For starters, just because the Del Mar is at the bottom of the list doesn't mean he thinks it's a bad bike and he even had the "fire" sticker next to it indicating that it was an exceptionally fun/rowdy ride. Maybe you're new to this video series but being easy to commute through the city is not the sole criteria for rankings. He ranks the bikes as if he was personally recommending them to an unknown person as an only bike that will be used for commuting AS WELL AS general pleasure riding (which is a very broad use). While the Del Mar does commuting through town very well, that's kind of all it does...and most other ICE bikes (apart from supersports which also rank poorly) are fantastic at commuting as well. For $15k+ most riders are going to expect more usage beyond just commuting and the daily rider rankings reflect that.

  • @KinglyKitten
    @KinglyKitten 3 місяці тому

    I think we watched different videos from Zac. In the one I watched, he did nothing but sing praise for the livewire and said it was a great bike, just not a great daily rider. As someone who is a daily rider for several years now, I have to say I agree with him despite having never ridden the bike. The range just would not work for me or many people that I know. Also, the list you posted of "daily rider must haves" seems completely like an opinion. I ride a DR 650 every day and I have for several years now and it has about a quarter of the items you listed and it is still a great daily rider in my opinion. Zac definitely did not post a hit piece. This video is more of a hit piece than his was. He has an opinion, and so do you. It does not mean either of your opinions are wrong, but yours just makes you sound like a fanboy that got upset cause someone ranked your bike lower than 5 other bikes.

      @@freedomiseverything I'm flattered mate, but I'm not very young. Just not as hilariously sensitive about others disagreeing with me as you are. Anyway, I had an electric for a while. Did about 100km. Perfect for me at the time, but when I need to do more each day it ceased to be practical. So I got a vstrom. Truly great bike. EVs don't work for everyone, I was even stuck with a model 3 as a company car for a while and given my building does have charging facilities it is so wildly impractical to have an EV. And batteries just aren't energy dense enough yet for bike. If you suddenly decide to ride more that 50% of you range away from home you gotta start planning where you go and the wonderful discover of just riding doesn't happen. Lastly, why would anyone buy a livewire product when there are far better EV bikes out there. Harley spent so much on these things and for some reason didn't build the Bronx, it's as if they don't want to make money.

    I wanted the DelMar to be good. But 15k and 80 miles range? Ridiculous. *Especially for a 'daily rider'. Great form factor. Looks great. But the only thing sillier than the price is the practicality. (See ya on the side of the road.)

    Spot on, as always! Long time motorcyclist here, test rode a Livewire One on a whim, ended up loving it so much I traded my BMW GS and to my surprise over the last year I ended up using the bike as a daily commuter unintentionally almost daily. Before I would just ride my BMW (and Ducatis before that) mostly on the weekends and the occasional work trip. I didn’t buy it as a Daily rider, but it’s just too good!

    A real-world riding range of only about 70 miles is completely unacceptable, unless you're only wanting a Point-A to Point-B vehicle, rather than something to ride for fun. It's a cool-looking bike in need of better battery capacity and quicker recharging. There are too many other possibilities at that price, until EVs become as affordable and convenient as ICE (in a few years - hopefully).

  • @caffeineman72

    This is $15,499 - if you ride in an area where the infrastructure can support electric, and you're riding range allows, and your wallet can support it, I am sure it's great. But, a daily rider isn't just about daily commuting, it's also about riding on your day off, riding with others, riding for fun. You defined what "commuting" means to you, but you are not me.

    and here is why I think Del Mar might be good fit for you but is absolutely useless for me - I commute to work, over weekends drive 100+ miles trips and I live in a flat. In short electric motorcycles are basically expensive decorations for me, even a 50cc scooter will serve me better. Unfortunately electric bikes compared to ICE bikes are even worse of than cars. In couple of years once the charging infrastructure is also outside of cities and highways, batteries improve the capacity and charging times this will change, but for now and couple of next years ICE bikes will always be better general choice.
