This video clip shows how I have rigged my boat, and also brushes over the splicing, whipping and knots that I use. I cover a few topics that have been requested recently. Filmed during a trip out, but was not enough wind to sail and too hot to do anything else! Twas only meant to be 20 minutes long but unable to heavily edit.

August 28th 2023, Running the Selva 130 6HP to wake it up and gain some confidence in it. Not much happens in this clip (nothing much at all!). The ST1000 Tillerpilot was doing a great job, as usual. Yes, I kept watch.

Should I use my 6HP Selva 130 model on my Seawych? It came with the boat, but has proved VERY difficult to start. Hence why I use my very reliable and trustworthy Seagull Silver Century. Both engines are the same age, but the Selva has had very little use all of its life. It’s in great condition. How I launch my Seawych onto a slipway when the tide is out. I realised that 4 blocks on the ground is better than 2. Someone else was present, but I completed this alone (although I did ask for him to kick one of the chocks out at one point). How I drop and raise the mast on my Seawych. Not so sure a Jammer for dropping the mast is necessary and toying the idea of lashing the Roller Furling to the ladder or Pulpit as It always gets in the way when raising. How I do it here though, is how I`ve always done it.

The reasons, preparation, equipment and positioning of my Seawych to haul onto a trailer without dunking it. This is the method I use and may give you some ideas on how you can develop your own technique. My GoPro camera ran out of battery, hence why this is done in 2 parts. The second part will show the process of tipping the boat and winching onto the trailer.
