    How do I find a way to keep it safer in the buildup but once I get to the final 3rd, for my playmakers to be making more risky passes and such? Sometimes it feels like they’re taking unnecessary risks on the buildup, but being super stale once we get to the final 3rd

    Just want to say thanks for this video. I used to watch the games full match, but I didn't have the additional insight before watching this video. Got victory in two difficult matches with a healthy xG lead. My main takeaways were definitely the off the ball position of your team's players during possession. I also agree with "less is more" thing.

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad 12 днів тому

      I don't, but that's because I tend to glean that info from full match and player movement - check my Build-Up video. The pass map provides a good look at the patterns your tactic is generating, though, so I definitely see the value in watching it for a few games and then drawing conclusions. Checking the pass map for the opposition is a good idea though since you can check their build-up patterns and press or mark the key areas

    Half way through this play list and it’s massively helpful. I am getting back into FM after a 10 year hiatus and a lot has changed. I don’t like videos that give you tactics or AI glitches, I like to formulate my own ideas so these explanation videos are extremely useful in understanding the what, how and why to then use how I wish. Great work. That said, I do prefer the videos where you show in game footage to show how the players operate in game.

    Late to the party as I just now watch the video... anyway, never too late to learn, good stuff! I really like the poacher here, it seems it's the role that pins the backline the most. would you say, a Pressing Forward does it the same way once the ball is in own possession? Or AF? Greetings my fellow manager loving the content and how it teaches you how to play rather than plug n play. I struggle to identify my team strengths and weaknesses more so on the squad comparison screen for league averages. More so on what each team attribute means and what each one does. How can one be used effectively to setup a tactic that suits my team. Can you help

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad 16 днів тому

      good question. I like to try and figure out a "benchmark" for that league, like a point where the crucial attribute for the job is usable. Like 15 in EPL, with anything higher being pretty good and lower being below standard, up to 18+ being world class. Then I'll go 1 point down from that to championship, and one more per league, with less demand on other attributes across the board as well as the standard lowers. I know that's not really what you asked but hope it helps a bit, I'll look into the squad comp screens a bit more and maybe pipeline a video there

  • @javorgeorgiev6130
    @javorgeorgiev6130 27 днів тому

    I used to go with a tactic based on what my best players are. Now I take a look first how good my players are compared to the rest of the league and if I think we're bottom table quality, I'll go with a defense first formation. Then as we progress up the table I'll move the press further and gradually ramp up the possession with different roles and introducing more technical players. A good thing about the game and football in general is you can take any formation and arrive at any other depending on the players you have. You don't need more than three new starters to go from a counter attacking team to one that keeps the ball more. If we are destined for relegation, or got promoted recently, I'm very likely to play a 3-5-2 (or 5-3-2). As we get better that can become a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 or 3-4-3. Next season a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
