    Ho lo stesso piede, dopo aver visto questo filmato me lo revisionerò da solo. Per copletare l'opera didattica, sarebbe interessante inserire un filmato su come si cambiano gli O-ring dei pistoni trimmer e come si sostituisce il cavo marce. Grazie per questo filmato.

    I have recently just purchased a boat with this locking mechanism. I belive the shift cable has been replace a few years ago. The problem I have is that when you shift into forward the cable PULLS the linkage. This causes the latch to be locked in forward position and realesed in reverse. If I switch the linkage to the other side the the linkage works properly but my shifter is the backwards.... I am stumped on what to do to fix this please help

    • @stefanovaleretto3121
      @stefanovaleretto3121 2 місяці тому

      The cable must push while in forward and pull while in reverse otherwise the reverse locking mechanism cannot work properly. If that is not the case, please check the gear lever at the control panel. Probably something set not correctly.

    I have used a engine picker and small straps choked under ujoint collar. It's a lot. Guiding the ujoint bellow, water hose and shift cable in place. But I love the AQ drives, every few years change bellows and every season the unit lube. As long as you don't hit anything they'll run for many years. Wish they still made them. The last 10 years I've bought many 275 and 280. I probably have 7 or more ready to go. To convert to outboard is just stupid expensive.

    I know you posted this 4 years ago, but I just came across your video due to some work on my 270 outdrive. The mechanism for the reverse lock looks identical to what you show in your video. What I'd like to know is what adjustment keeps the pawl lock from grabbing the trim rod when it's in forward? The way mine is now working (I think I messed something up trying to get the reverse lock to work properly) when I pull back on the outdrive (simulating hitting something moving forward) the pawls grab the trim rod due to the spring pulling the locks upward and engaging the trim rod. Seems that it shouldn't do that.

    • @stefanovaleretto3121
      @stefanovaleretto3121 4 місяці тому

      Hi. It is correct that the pawl lock grabs the trim rod when in forward. It is kept in this position by springs but, if the outdrive hits an obstacle, the spring will allow, above a certain impact force, the disengagement of the locking mechanism and the lifting of the outdrive. While in reverse, a cam actuated by the shift lever will move and prevent the locking mechanism to disengage whatever the pulling force might be.

    So I'm getting into old man territory now that I'm in my mid 50s, but I have loved this song since it came out. The 1st time I heard it, I was like, whoa, RUSH just did a fuckin rap! Having witnessed the birth of rap, I was happy that they didn't mind trying something that they were listening to. As an aside, how the hell did no one mention War Paint as women applying make up? Christ I must be getting old.

      Probably someone has replaced it with a non original part. Difficult to remove without the extraction threads. You can make them with a battery drill.

    • @stefanovaleretto3121
      @stefanovaleretto3121 2 роки тому

      Yes of course. Just disconnect the water intake hose at transom shield just for safe, to prevent any siphon effect, since the water pump level is lower than the floating line.

    Nice job that looks like a beautifully restored older boat. Love the simple Chevrolet small block. Only thing I might do different is use ear muffs for water supply instead of the bucket because the water has to travel up and forward quite a ways to reach the engine mounted impeller. A pressurized flow will reduce the risk of dry starts. When the boat is on the water it’s a non issue because hydrostatic pressure fills that hose leading to the impeller. On my 1988 OMC/Chevrolet 4.3 I use the Mercruiser round muffs with the metal clamp that goes through the water intake holes, these are the best fitting ones I have found. Usually my engine will fire up after cranking it over 3 times after it’s 6 month rest

    Hello and thank you for this very informative video. I appreciate you taking the time to show us all. I have a 2010 Stingray 195 LX and every time I take it out to the lake and I haven't started it for a few weeks I have to do this. I also push throttle down to prime it pump it 5-7 times then I crank it and it'll start after maybe second time but then when it does start, as soon as I put it on Neutral it shuts off. How long do I have to heat the boat up until I can actually place the throttle back on neutral? This is embarrassing to me because I have to start all over and I'm already in the water in people's way lol. Do i leave it this way until it warms up pretty good then take it back to the neutral position?

    • @stefanovaleretto3121
      @stefanovaleretto3121 2 роки тому

      One or two minutes are enough for the engine to be able to idle with throttle lever in neutral position. You can also adjust the fast idle cam o be able to idle immediately with throttle lever in neutral position. This is what the fast idle cam us for. In my carburetor I have excluded it because I do not need it but remember that, just in case, you can use it.
