    Bonjour. I love how you emphasize cooking with local ingredients and using what you have on hand and actually cook an entire meal. No need to run to the store for an ingredient not on hand. You make wonderful meals on an induction cooker too. Too many people have large renovated kitchen but never cook. They just order takeout. Not a good idea because you cannot know what the ingredients are (flavor enhancers etc) and it’s expensive. I always cook my own meals even though I live alone. You are an inspiration. Thank you. Joseph.

      Thanks for your nice message ☺️ I used to take out meals at my office for lunch a long time ago. I stopped when I realized how much it was costing me per month for meals that weren't even particularly good and didn't even make me happy since they were to be eaten very quickly in front of my computer. It requires organization to cook and remember to bring my meals. But it's worth it. My meals are 1000 times better, better quality and cost me 3 times less ☺️ have a nice day

    Bonjour. Another excellent video. I appreciate that you will make a recipe even if you don’t have one of the ingredients. That was Julia Childs approach to cooking too. Even if you didn’t have the beef, you could substitute another protein or omit it and make a vegetarian daub. You show us practical cooking tips and are very resourceful. Much better than rigidly sticking to a recipe. Thank you. Joseph.

      @@easyfrenchdiet bonjour. In watching other videos of regular French people buying their food, Ive noticed how many buy prepared meals, snack foods, sugar drinks, fake bread and other items along these lines. It is sad that many of them cannot afford their purchases especially items like meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. Some of them are older, others ill, most are living on limited income. It would be wonderful if your videos could reach more people as a teaching aid for them. At times it can be overwhelming to fix creative meals without guidance. We can all use your help. Just my observation. Joseph.

      Yes I know and I see a lot of people like that in my practice who buy these products when often it costs them much more than if they cooked. The economic argument, contrary to what one believes, does not often hold water. Indeed, these premade products are often very expensive. I advise my patients to cook but very often they don't want to change their habits. It's the reason why I have this channel. To show instead of just saying. Thanks for your support! @@easyfrenchdiet There was a little article in my newspaper about tests with teas and herbal teas. Then I went on the webside of the consumers' magazine that was mentioned in the article and found out that in some countries they use pesticides that are no longer allowed in the EU. Since Kusmi was mentioned in the article and I had some health problems at that time, I didn' t use the tea. It is now on a kitchen shelf because I find it very attractive. But I don't know, if Kusmi is still having problems with pesticides in their teas and herbal tea. Bonsoir 🥰 I would like to ask something please: I see that in France, people do like their butter and cheese. I was wondering if you, as dietitian, have come across people that have high cholesterol and should not be eating this kind of fats. If yes, what is suggested they eat? I for example, am from Athens and although 30 yo and healthy (and in love with butter and cheeses haha) have a chronic cholesterol issue that keeps me from having these snacks. So I am watching your videos to feel like it’s me😅 I wonder, if I was living in France, what would I be eating instead 😂

    • @easyfrenchdiet
      @easyfrenchdiet 4 дні тому

      Hello, your question is quite complicated because high cholesterol does not always mean the same thing and the recommendations differ depending on the level but also on age and comorbidities. So I could not really answer you. In France, in case of high cholesterol it is often recommended avoiding saturated fats and to replace them with olive oil for instance but it all depends, as indicated, on the context because sometimes it is not necessary and personally very often i'm not convinced by this approach. But as I said it's difficult to answer without knowing the person and the context as our cholesterol is mainly produced by the liver. Thanks for watching ☺️

The information you provided was exactly the regimen I have followed for the past 6 months and I have lost 20 pounds so far. I came to the same conclusions you did: whole foods, stop chronic snacking (but not all snacking, haha!), keep carbs in balance with protein and veggies. I didn't give up carbs but now eat, say, a dessert at mealtime, not by itself. In this way my blood sugar didn't spike. The weight finally came off. Thank you for the video!

      Hello. I know it's a controversial ingredient but soy is the only plant that contains complete proteins with all the essential amino acids and it contains 36 grams of proteins per 100 grams. It has been shown to be well absorbed by human whereas proteins from plants are in general badly absorbed (around 50% when meat and eggs are at 100%) So I would suggest substituting beans with soy if you want to remain vegetarian and still have a good protein intake, and not being bloated all the time. @ Thank you for the great information. I eat soy occasionally, but will reach for it first over beans. I love your recipes that I use for the meat eaters in my family. I usually swap the protein for myself.

    First of all, thank you so much for this channel. As a full-blooded American seeing the way you eat and cook really has inspired me to make changes to my own habits. Instead of focusing on large portions of 1 food I’ve been diversifying my meals and having a main protein, always a side salad, and some bread/rice if I need the extra energy. My family normally cooks homemade food, however I always had a problem with eating too fast and too much, then getting hungry very soon after each meal. I now take my time and chew, enjoy all the sensations, and I let my body catch up with my mouth. And second, I’m so jealous because we can’t get raw milk brie, camembert, epoisses, all of the soft cheeses! I’ll have to make a journey to France one day! Thank you!

    Good to know I avoid most of these errors but I suspect I both under and over eat and have no idea what a correct portion size for myself should be.

      Hello, ideally, if you pay attention to your sensations and compose your plates with all the essential nutrients, you should feel the signals of hunger and satiety. But it is not always so easy. Also, I would say that for a woman of normal weight and average height, you should take a normal-sized plate (diameter 17 centimeters) and fill it with about 1/3 to 1/2 vegetables, a bit more than 1/3 meat or fish or eggs and 1/4 remaining starchy foods. Otherwise, you can ask a dietitian to calculate your needs, which are very different from one person to another. This calculation is made according to your age, your height, your weight and your activity level. I hope this can help you a bit. Thanks for watching ☺️ have a nice evening ✨

      And I forgot a piece of cheese of course (around 30 grams) for calcium and proteins! ☺️

      @ Thank you! That is very helpful and I think the issue is I need to eat less starch more vegetables. I am doing a better job than I thought. I also need to have regular meal times. Have a lovely weekend x

      @ that is easy (but I probably should weigh 30gms as I suspect my idea of 30gms is much more🙈)

      Yes starchy foods are mainly for pure energy as they are made of glucose chains and they turn into glucose (so sugar) once in the body. And sometimes we tend to overeat them as they are good and we eat more than our level of activity and our needs for pure energy (aka fat and glucose). And then once in the body, if you can't use them immediately because you ate too much your liver turns them into fat and sends this fat in your adipose tissue (body fat) to store it for later.
