Thank you so. Much for this video just purchased the same 4070 super did a google search for iracing settings and found your video and it has been the absolute best I just wanted to thank you for making a non tech savvy person like me be able to access and change settings this easily . Thank you so much !!!!
I've had the HF8 for a year now and really like it. Works very well and adds so much to my gaming experiences. Very pleased with this product.
Gtzx 4070 and can’t get more than 72 fps on iracing.. move all settings suggested but won’t increase the fps Any suggestions ? Many thanks !
Hello, i have a 2080ti, what should i do to make my game look better?? Too much aliasing and flickering, framerate is good tho (72hz 4128x2204)...thank you
That could be a struggle with the gpu you have, but this question has so many follow up questions, can I suggest you ask it on my discord channel - discord.gg/tn774r43 A lot of very helpful and knowledgeable people there to help you.

I am just facing the choice between Csl DD and MR9. You provide very valuable insights and information, thank you for this video.

You bring up a very interesting topic I was looking for, but be more reliable, the T300 is 3.9nm!
Hi, thank you for the comment. This issue has been discussed before and it's down to the optimal cooperation of the T300 vs the maximum power it can output. At.3.9 the T300 has given user issues and it has been thought that 2.9 is the better optimal value for sustained reliability. So I'm both right and wrong :)
Now turn on HDR and start all over again.
I did look into this , but found the graphical improvements were minimal. What's your feeling on hdr?
I asked Copilot. Told it what parts I had my internet speeds, then asked what my debug settings were. It made me realize my ethernet connection was not the right one.
Yes, that can help. I think I reset that a while back for the settings menu, because it had defaulted to a very low setting.
Same system, used your video and it was a game changer - looks SO GOOD now it’s silly
Hi, glad the settings worked for you. I felt the same when I found the right combination, suddenly it was looking at a different sim.
Great video - what was the setting in your Debug? Have the same system and would like to min=mic that set of setting too if you do not mind sharing.
My settings for Debug tend to be fluid, depending on what I am using and in what conditions. If the sim is not stressing my system in VR I usually just have Encode Bitrate set to 450 (higher than this on my system causes audio glitches, which impacts visual performance - but that's just my system) and I have Spacewarp disabled. If I am having issues with performance, I do also use the FOV tangent multiplier and for this I have another video, which you can find here - ua-cam.com/video/ZO9A39eypbQ/v-deo.htmlsi=Tiqo_MNRkYiOUrLN
I think something else that should be said is that for those of us with cockpits such as the Playseat Trophy and other similar units that can’t really have Buttkickers installed easily. This is a great solution. I’m expecting mine to arrive today and will be mounting to the Trophy. Here’s hoping it goes well 👍
Yes, those types of cockpits are ideal for this type of haptic feedback system. Might even improve comfort. Let me know how you get on.
I love you mate, love your videos, but please... it is pronounced "Eh-vo". Ciao!!
I'll try my best :)
Another great video sir, I will turn off SSR right now hahaha and also, I was waiting for you to let us know what others graphic settings need the sim to be closed and opened again to actually see the changes. Please let me know, regards!
I did cover a lot.of those settings in a previous video on optimising the 4070super with iracing in VR. Check that one out if you have time. But mostly, the settings on the far left, at the top, clouds and other stuff like that, can be altered with out rebooting the software, but the stuff in the middle and far right should be adjusted with consideration to a reboot of the sim. I guess the rule of thumb should be, is it you later a.setting and it has minimal or zero.effect on FPS, try a reboot of the sim and see what happens. And try to alter only one setting at a.time.
Hello again my friend, you helped me a few month ago with my quest 3 for iRacing and now you’re helping me again here, I just bought the HF8 today and your video came up at the top when I was looking how to set it up, I was planning to use simhub but thanks to you I’ll try the NLR software first. I didn’t understand quite well if it works or not at the same time with crew chief, I only use iRacing, hope it not a problem with this sim, please let me know about it
Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. I'm not at my computer or rig right now, and can check this when I return, but from memory, iRacing and crew chief should not be a problem when working in combination with the new HF8 software. Don't forget to activate each effect one at.a time, to dial in the settings that work for you, in your rig.
I’m having a problem with my quest 3 freezing in the middle of races. Seems like a massive frame drop. I’m using a link cable. Pc is up to date and graphics are turned all the way down. I’ve tried redownloading all software but nothing seems to work. Also same setting as yours on the debug tool. Link cable I’m using is a usb 3.0 maybe the 3.1 is what I need I don’t know. Anyone having same problems. I don’t want to run an official race and take the chance of losing even more irating or ruining anyone else’s race. I’ve been running strictly hosted races for trial and error. It happens so randomly like it runs fine and then out of nowhere it freezes. Any tips tricks/advice ?
I would first of all check device manager on the PC, and make sure power saving is disabled for all your usb ports. Let me know if this makes a difference or not.
@@OlderGamersPerspective did not work. Thought it did for a little. Ran 2 hosted races with no problems, but on the third i ran a couple laps and reset then it freezes
Also i can run 200 fps on the monitor but on the quest 3 i can only get 70

Do you need a pc to play WRC VR om Meta quest 3s with a wheel setup. Or can you install a game on your MQ3 and connect the wheel setup to the MQ3
Far as I know, you can only use WRC on the PC and then the Quest 3 connected to the PC.Never used WRC myself, but the reports I've heard about VR performance have been good.
Thank you ;-)
My pleasure
Setting it up isn't the problem at all. The problem is that the AI drives at different speeds. If you set 100% at Monza and cross the finish line first, it can happen that you end up in last place at Imola with 100%. So you have to find out a different percentage for each route. To do this you have to complete each race once. That's the real problem, not hiring a championship.
I wasn't aware of this, I hope they sort it out in the 1.6 patch.
Do you have a monitor at home to compliment your VR driving ?
Not on.my current rig. The one before it I had both, but this one I bought as I was getting into VR and so haven't yet fitted in to it. But it will.happen in the near future.
We all like freebies! 😂
Indeed we do :)
To check on ports... open a command prompt by typing CMD at the windows start menu. Then type netstat -ano and press enter. You'll see all ports listed, along with their current connection status. Great video by the way.
I've been trying to figure out these two settings: Pixels Per Display Pixel Override Encode Resolution Width I'm on a 4090 / 14900k. I am trying to get the best possible picture quality and aiming for 72hz. Should I bump up the pixel override, or just keep raising resolution in open xr toolkit instead? Reading up on this setting it sounds like both of these paths are similar (supersampling)?
It's an either/either situation. You need to do one or the other, but you need to try out which one looks better for you, and which one is best for your system. Personally I would go with the Open XR toolkit solution, as this one is easier to adjust once in the Sim. But either will work, and either one does pretty much the same thing, but with a different approach. Possibly open xr toolkit is the clearer of the two, for understanding what you are changing.
AMS 2 still has terrible physics. Cars sliding like stupid and updates don't fix it much. I love to play this game because of excellent VR performance but I hate spinning during most of the races. I don't believe that they going too fix it with update 1.6, rather I'm looking forward for Assetto Corsa Evo release ,
I have seen that patch 1.6 is going to address these issues, so I am more hopeful, but I understand your doubts. More testing is going to be needed, when they release the patch. Hopefully soon. Evo I tried at the Expo, video on my channel about this, and that was cool, but the FFB didn't impress me as much. But the version I was using had Pre-Alpha on the splash screen, so make of that what you will.
Great video, what’s weird is on the meta options for my quest three the highest it will go is x1.5 at 90hz (that’s as far right as it goes) I only get x1.7 like you when I change it to 120hz but haven’t tried playing iracing with 120hz. I have a 7800x3d and 4070ti super (neither overclocked) so unsure if it would run 120hz. I get 91fps based on all of your settings and around 30-40% left on the GPU…
I believe that when Meta updated the App a few months back, these settings changed and the maximum that is now available is less than seen in this video. Not sure why this was changed, of if it will be changed back, but at the moment, this is what it is. 30-40% headroom sounds awesome. Happy racing :) for 120Hz, I can run that, if I want to, but it does stress the system a little more, and can cause a lot of issues on a crowded grid, or in the rain.
What’s it like compared to their other wheels like the tgt 2
I can't tell you as I have never used that model, but I can say that it is very comparable with my usual wheel, the Moza R9.
@@OlderGamersPerspective no problem buddy thanks for getting back to me I do appreciate the reply I am going to buy it when it comes in stock In uk
@@Isa-t6v3v Did you see my show video? I have a very brief overview on there of my first impressions. I would say the only down side I can see is the relatively cheap looking wheel, but this can be replaced, and the fact that the body of the wheel housing is taller than a standard DD wheel.
@@OlderGamersPerspective Il check it out now mate and I agree I don’t like the look of the wheel I really like the tgt 2 wheel I hope that works with it

Date? Tickets?
March 7-15, 2025 in Austin, TX
Also, not sure if you need tickets but Badges range from $1695-$730 and the game industry events seem to be open to all badges. Some events at sxsw are free but there’s nothing indicating the integration of Sim Racing Expo yet, from what I can find
To clarify: SXSW 2025 is March 7-15 but the "game industry" events are March 9-11. I'm guessing the sim expo stuff will be integrated into that programming
Sounds like a cool event. Thank you for the extra information.
As a last point of clarity(sorry I'm learning new information as I go)... ADAC posted on their bio in Instagram that it will be March 13-15th. I'm trying to go, so I've just been digging for information but it's not as clear as you'd think. They haven't made many formal announcements. That's how I even came across this video! 😂

@@cheekyheinz0010 thank you. Hope you found this video useful
I'm using the same settings as you with PSVR2 on a 4070 and while I had good headroom in the dry, rain absolutely tanked my FPS to 50 making it choppy and unplayable, on Okayama with moderate rain and 16 cars, SSR off. I feel so disheartened with iRacing when it's so much work to get it to run well on a $2000 gaming PC, while GT7 on PS5 with PSVR2 looks far better and runs flawlessly.
Rain is an issue in the rain in VR. Have you tried lowering MSAA to X2…? And also, try the headset at 72hz. Both of these can help keep a stable frame rate in VR.
Can you please try T598 if it's there and give us your opinion please?
I was very impressed during a session with GT7 and then ACC. I will post a more in an ADAC Sim racing video to be posted soon Also talking to Thrustmaster and hoping to get a review unit. Although I can't promise the second, but I hope it happens. My initial impressions are that the T598, at this price point, could be a game changer for the direct drive market.
👊
It was a cool experience
MORE plz :D
More to come when I post the full show video early next week

I love to use LMU in VR without HUD and will never turn it on again.
How do you manage with black flag messages and that sort of thing?
I need to switch from T-LCM mode to T3PA mode, for this i need to press left shifter paddle and the Mode button for 2 sec at the same time, the problem is i got a wheel with no shifter paddles, i have no idea what i could do. Heeellllppp please someone 😭🙏
So ignoring the price and the battery, which headset was more comfortable with less pressure? Or was there no real difference between the S3 and the CMQ3?
Ignoring the price and battery, I would say the CMQ3 has the edge over the S3 in terms of comfort. Let's put it this way, after I made that review, I left the CMQ3 on my quest 3 and it is in fact still there. I think the padded head strap is slightly more comfortable for seated VR experiences than the S3. Not much in it, but enough for me to stick with the CMQ3. For standing VR experiences such as fitness and the like, I am less convinced by this head strap, but that was the same for the S3. Halo straps are king for seated VR, but for standing I think you really need the elite style
Say: *Luh Mawng’
I will do my best, but I fear my English accent will always butcher such place names.
The hud needs to be scalable, it’s just to spread out. Crew chief works well and helps with penalties and flags. Also the mirror resolution, is too low and cannot adjust right hand mirror. Other than that the VR is pretty good. I would recommend bypassing steam vr by using openVR toolkit, helps with fps. As far as the driving goes, it’s leagues above anything else currently. The FFB is incredible and the tracks are the best versions in any sim IMO. But you can tell it’s built around rfactor 2, same old frustrations and bugs.
Yes indeed, the HUD needs placement and scalable options, something similar to the Content Manager mod in AC, which is just brilliant for that sort of thing, in fact I don't know why all Sims just don't find a way to do exactly what Content Manager in AC does. The mirrors... Yes, I noticed that a fair bit, although the car I was in used the Rear Camera setup, so I was more focused on that, but the mirrors I did use looked very pixelated. FFB is impressive, I am not sure it's as good as AC can be, for cars with good physics models, but it is a pleasure to drive. I did find the GTE a little light on the brake, in that the brakes didn't feel like they were doing enough, but that might just have been me not being used to the GTE. Tracks are also great, very much better than iRacing in my opinion. And yes, I did encounter a few RF2 bugs from yesteryear, which is a bit disappointing. Hopefully they get that sorted before any eventual release date. Crew chief I will try with LMU as soon as I get a chance, for this first impressions video, I wanted to look at LMU Pure. Thank you for the feedback.
I just started on iRacing yesterday and I was struggling with my framerate on my 4070super and AMD 7500f using PSVR2 for HOURS. UNTIL I found your other video about VR settings. For some reason I never thought to turn off dynamic objects. Anyway I copied your settings and am now grinding my way out of rookies on a buttery smooth 90fps refresh rate. Thank you _so much_ , you deserve many more subs!
Hi, thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. Glad to hear that you are now running smooth. Bare in mind that some tracks, with a heavy grid, or that great nemesis, rain, will cause you to see a performance drop, in which case, drop to 72Hz (if the PSVR can do that, I've not used it), and also consider turning down MSAA to x2, but only for these extreme races where frame rate is consistently hard to obtain, or maintain. Those sort of races you are likely to encounter once you come out of Rookies and go to the D-Class, the Production Car Challenge, for example. Also, some tracks are not very well optimised, so if you see issues, don't always think it's your setup. It could just be that iRacing is pushing it too hard on some of the less well optimised tracks. How are you finding the PSVR2?
@@OlderGamersPerspective I‘ve yet to encounter rain but my hope is that dropping MSAA to 2x will help maintain framerate. Unfortunately the PSVR2 only offers 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. A 72Hz option would surely be nice to have, if only as an emergency option. Who knows, it might be added in the future. That said, I might experiment with 60fps reprojected to 120fps as it never bothered me much in GT7. The overall polish and ease of use in GT7 is exceptional in VR of course, but I’m having much more fun with iRacing as it is just better racing and simulation. I still might get a (used) Quest 3 at some point but I’m in no hurry. Keep up the great work :)

Thank you! This helped a ton. Myself a little bit older as well, old enough to remember the original Audi R8 open and closed cockpit debate at LeMans… anyway thank you for the help on the settings. I have the exact same setup and was getting major vr headaches while racing and am much better now. Thank you again!
Hi, good to meet another older gamer, and one that goes back as far as the R8 debate of last century (just ;) ) Glad the settings helped, probably be outdated when the actual V1.0 is released (or whatever number it will have), but I will bring out an update when that happens. I was also having a lot of issues with LMU, and one thing that I didn't mention is I found it helpful to delete the Config_DX11_VR.ini file found in the LMU game folder/UserData folder. This did seem to help in my case, and seemed to be something I needed to do after an update. Needed to setup all the graphics settings again, but this didn't seem to effect the wheel binding, which is a relief. Anyway, if you want to chat with other sim racers, often of an older persuasion, I also have a Discord channel that you are welcome to join, if you do the Discord thing. discord.gg/vrYag8HF
For me the pc is saying sim not found and won’t launch great video must be something im doing wrong
Have you installed the OpenXR Toolkit?
Well I play ACC in epic settings (4070 + 5800x3D) diminishing FOV TM to 0.7; 0.5 in ODT, and when I say epic I mean epic including shadows and whatnot, maybe it would help a little to try and use that, if possible of course. Honestly I just can´t take RF2 and LFM there are other much better options.
I have used the FOV TM before, but I find it a little intrusive. But you are right, with it on, performance is likely to be better. I will take another look at ACC, although I have trouble warming to it as I see some odd rendering issues while racing, which I am told is to do with the Unreal engine. but I can give it another go.
Have you tried the openVR toolkit to improve performance? I think for VR you need to have at least a consistent 90fps for a pleasant experience.
I'm interested in this game but still waiting for 1.0 if that ever happens..
Yep, I can understand that. I was tempted to wait myself, but was sucked in eventually, by the HUD update.
Everyone who waits, contributes to this sim possibly never reaching V1.0... Support simracing development.
@@EricW6800 It would be cool if we all had enough money to do this, but times are tight, and not everyone can afford to jump into a sim that may never, as you say, reach V1.0. I think the decision by 397 to release DLC that needs to be paid for has also caused problems. In early access, people shouldn't be asked to risk more money on a product that may never reach a full release. There are lots of sim titles and lots of DLC packs for them, an only so much money in peoples pockets. That being said, I do hope that this sim gets a full release and thrives as it drives really nicely.
@@OlderGamersPerspective I can agree to some extent but many simracing enthusiasts who are on the fence have a Iracing subscription, or a decent PC to play on, other hardware like steering wheels or pedals, etc.etc. I was not pointing to people who play simracing titles on a old laptop and a second hand game controller. It probably won't even run LMU. The being on the fence is often coming from a group who have the resources. By not buying in that case you are basically contributing to the loss of available platforms, or having less simracing platforms in the future.
@@EricW6800 Yes, you are right. And it would be a bleak sim racing world if only iRacing were left. Although these days, it sometimes feels like that. Hopefully 397 can find some funding to finish the job and give us another cool title to use.
Great timing, I have been struggling getting it set up properly for my quest 3. Many thanks 🙏
Cool. I am glad you found this video helpful, and have fun :)
In the end, I decided to go the other route...brute force. I was running a 5600x/6700xt AM4 system with my Q3. I watched this video months ago and followed a lot of your suggestions. Most settings on low or off, except car detail, that's always ultra! Spent more time juggling settings in Windows, Oculus Debug Tool and in game than I did playing AMS2. Just got tired of the compromises and the giant time suck while tinkering. My first attempt, throw a 7900xtx with my 5600x at it. Well, that got me partially there. So, just last week I built a new AM5 system with a 7800x3d and the 7900xtx and the compromises are all gone. I was going to start my tinkering with everything set low in AMS2 and work my way up. But said screw it, let's see where we are, go to the top and work my way down. Set the Q3 to 90hz and 5408x2912. Jammed everything in AMS2 as high as it would go. My headroom drain is always Daytona in front of the grandstand, so went there. Full 30 car grid, and holy cow...hovering right at 0 headroom, almost zero frame drops! Move MSAA down one step to medium, and there it is, full AMS2 with headroom to spare. Didn't notice a difference between high and medium MSAA anyway. I really feared that the x3d hype was overblown...it's not. Sure it cost me a small fortune, but now I just race.
Epic. Really glad it worked out for you, and congrats on the super system. I am sure you will enjoy racing on it :)
The most I able to set on my system is 1.3x resolution. Is that due to a lower quality cable maybe… or is the application even that smart
I think what happened is, Meta updates the PC app, and when they did that, some of the resolutions were changed. It has upset a number of people.
@@OlderGamersPerspective Thanks Mate... love the content.
Thanks for the video. I have owned a HF8 for about a year and only used it for the first month or so due to lag. I will check it out now. To check which ports are used by any applications you can open up an elevated(local admin) command prompt console and use the following command: netstat -ab The ports used will follow the tcp/ip address associated. This will likely be your local loopback address of 127.0.0.1:port Hope that helps!
What about your Nvidia settings on one video it advises to have anisotropic set to times as it can’t actually be switched off and have it 16x in nvidia settings
I have tried both Methods, and my testing is still in the early days, but I've personally not seen a huge improvement in performance when using the Nvidia settings option for AA. But like I say, I am still experimenting with it.
Hi man....here again.....one question.....is able 80 Hz in quest 3....in this case, what do you think about using this frequency....is something between 72 and 90, is´n it? thanks.
I would say that 72 is probably the better bet if your system is struggling. 80hz always feels like an oddity to me, and I have seen some unexpected performance issues when using it on my system.
Need to see Razer's Freyja comparison. At $300, I'm leaning towards the HF8 but Razer will probably have more compatibility with non-racing titles. Thanks for sharing your setup!
Thank you for the tip, I have not heard about this product, and have reached out to Razer for a review copy.
I use this with all combat, flying, and racing games. If you like Tank games, try this with World of Tanks. First time I fired this up on WoT, it was truly startling, and I'm a WoT veteran(7years). It was, and still is incredible to actually feel the explosions going off all around you. Very cool.
