Please Use Headphones. The audio you hear uses line traces to detect the material of objects which controls different levels of obstruction. The jumping and footstep sounds are all triggered by animation notifications. Each different colored area has its own aux reverb. Made with Unreal 4 and Wwise.       Hopefully! My PCVR HMDs all burned out. Hoping the dongle for the PSVR2 HMD works and I can start doing more PCVR dev again.

    In the second blueprint there is a function Set Collision Info Location , you miss to explain how its setup ...

      Apologies, I am just seeing your comment. That function simply sets the location for three vector variables use for the collision info for the concrete, wood, and plaster bounces. I made it a function to take up less screen-space.

    Strange sound balance... In reality Cannon's shot should be 130+dB, engine 80... 50db of difference... It is huuuuuuuge difference in SPL... Well, 16db at least for headphones... :)

      Cool! My focus on this scene was learning how to move car like objects via physics and seeing how the Acoustic components with them. I'll keep that in mind the next time I make a mix for a tank.

    Hi, im currently working on a sound attenuation system within UE4 for my Dissertation. Ive got a sound source starting at my line trace Start and I want it to fade out and stop at the end of the line trace, any chance you've got any tips as im a little bit stuck. Thanks

      Hi Hadleigh, this is a great question. Off the top of my head I don't think Unreal's sound attenuation has that information readily exposed so you can do that. In my video, I used Wwise and ran a RTPC from Unreal into Wwise to do the volume control. I apologise for not clearly labling this in the title. I'm not sure what you're in and if you've tried this, but you could add a sphere (assuming your attenuation is one) collision or mesh, to get the attenuation radius, scale the sphere to match the attenuation radius, and then calculate the distance to the center of itself. This might return distance from center to edge for you to use. I'm not sure how much delay there would be but this is just a thought on how I'd start with something like this.

      Hi Infinity, I am not. I worked with Microsoft engineers on the Acoustics engine when I was making these videos. I agree, the PS5 and Xbox are taking huge strides in the 3D audio space! I can't wait to hear what gets made with all the new software that is being used!
