Trying learn the the colors . So I've learned I have ebony , standard Gray, brown , beige chinchillas.

Personally I would not use these for my chins as they would definitely eat the cardboard and the string which can cause internal blockages! Also only certain kinds of woods are safe for them to eat so I’m not really sure about popsicle sticks. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone watching this and wanting to try, I would advise extreme caution

Calling chinchillas your children is a threat when they are live stock, keep fireworks which fit in your childrens mouth away from your children if the get visual of ANIMORPHS or drugs and smoke or ingest drugs.

I think the truly dark veiled, pp, nearly blackm, standard grey ones are still the most "regal" z& handsome...l im judt boting like that way maybe though lol. I Think we ALL LOVE certain mosaic/whites though.... personally ive never liked any kihd of beige or pink skin around the ears/eyes & the redcp or pink eyes give me the total creeps lol. And i think thrpe "gold bar" chins judt look lkke dirty lightbp tan/beige/pink-whites, lol. Oh im almost fpglad u skipped over " chocolates" & throse ridiculously overvpriced "blue diamonds. (The absolutely rarest colors to date Literally bread, but you're just one woman somewhere in Europe.I think I mean yeah, there's probably a few more out there.But that's literally all I've heard of these.I think they were just called charcoal and they were like black and kind of shiny Grish.I can't remember if they had white billies or not, but they're different than any other killer.They were really cool?! Like I think there are too shoes and for that college.Even we recognized as a contributor you could show or whatever yet , but it is a different color completely?! ...i dont Understand everyone's honest thing except for the fact that lake.OK, the color goes all the way around them, so they don't have white bellies.So therefore i've heard them called a 'wrap' too,, That's not even the goofy heart, though. Honestly, it's just like the fact that ebony can apparently come from anything between extra dark ebony. Meaning like yeah, pitch black detail, obviously dark ebony, with just like some sprinkles of Gray and white mixed in with pretty much solid black. And then there's medium ebony, which basically looks like a standard gray just without a white belly Billy, you can also even have a white ebony.What the heck is a white ebony.That's literally the very definition of an oxymoron?!? I have a two months old chin, I'm trying to bond to him but he's still too afraid. He's curious and nibbles and smells me but I cannot touch him yet. Any recommendations?? I don't want my babe to be afraid of me

I am a hopefully new to be chinchilla owner of two baby boys I had degus before this but the cage I have isn’t big enough in any direction for chinchillas I was them to be happy and healthy in a cage fitted to them but I do have a price limit on 120£ ish > or < 10£ I can’t find any good cages are their any suggestions on where to go

I just got mine yesterday he's almost 2. He is slowly getting used to me. I just keep my hand still and he uses my fingers as like a rubbing post. So I think he is showing me where he likes to pet. He also ate from my palm. And rested on my hand while he ate. But he wouldn't come in the palm of my hands. My cousin showed me how she did it. And it he hopped right in her hands. I think he just has to get used to me. This lil guy is so adorable to see him roll in his bath. One step at a time. Today at work was so long because I was worried about him. I know he is 2. But would it be a good idea to get another one? Should it be another male? Like a younger or same age one? I'm new to chinchillas I was helping out a cousin since she just had a baby and wanted him go to a good owner and she knows I love the lil guy

A lot of the recommendations here are wrong. I’m only half way through the video, but the cage that you said was too small in the first half, was big enough for 2 (still a bad cage, but it WAS big enough). Wheels should not be given until 1 year old, and are NOT necessary at all. Also you’re not mentioning the truly important stuff, such as plastic NEEDS to be covered, and the ONLY fabric they can have is non pill fleece. Cages should also not be too tall with nothing in the middle. Chinchillas can fall and get hurt super easy.

I am still hoping one of these days someone will have a chinchilla video where one is trying to talk. So far mine is the only one I have seen. She can't say much audibly, their vocal cords aren't built for speech, but she can mimic and communicate with lip reading. I have a few videos on my page, but it's hard to catch her doing it. "Are you making fun of me," is a really good one, but poor video quality.

I've read on reddit threads that some owners will spend $100 - $200.00 on toys alone. I do not have that kind of money to spend and throw around like that, are hanging toys necessary? Can't I just do things like this in the video and buy them apple ledges and lava ledges? some suppliers (that I use to really love, sell like 2 hanging toys a wreath and 2 little toss toys for like $35.00, I think that's excessive, the hanging toys are like 7 inches. I use to spend towards $100 on hanging toys but my lifestyle changed. I do what I can but I need alternatives. Any advice or alternatives would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I had bulk cholla wood for them to chew, but they dont like cholla as much as I thought they would

Sounds like a horrible pet. Lots of work cleaning after them and you can't touch em much. Cool so why would anyone want one? Just a lot of work and hassle without any reward
