Chinchilla breeders have always been exploring the different chinchilla mutations. Mutations are another word for colors of the chinchilla. In this video, I will be going through how chinchilla mutations are based on genetics. To get a better understanding, I suggest you watch "different chinchilla mutations and colors" before this video. There are so many chinchilla mutations currently being bred and it'll be so cool if you knew how their genes work and which combinations of color will produce particular mutations. I will be going into detail explaining how chinchilla genes work to produce these color variations. Hope you learned something today!

I have a lot of chinchillas in colors: std, white, pink white, violet, Blue diamond, Sapphire, goldbar, Black velvet, Brown velvet, Black Pearl, beige, ebony and Much more - i have studying the genetic very much because of that, but you gave me the last answer, i couldn’t find how many chromosomes they have. I’m bad at english, and there are not very much about chinchilla genetics in danish 😊

I want to breed my goldbar but I heard the other parent need a goldbar gene to be able to produce goldbar. I also heard it's bed to breed 2 recessive gene chinchilla together. Not sure if that's the case or not tho. I'm also having a hard time finding a goldbar carrier. I do wonder, though, what would happen if I breed a goldbar with a mosaic. Or a beige as a pink white carrier to a goldbar? 🤔

How about extra dark ebony how do you get that mutation

Sure, in order to make the ebony darker (maybe the solid black ones you might have seen), you can breed lighter versions of the ebony. For example. If you breed two medium ebonies, you have have a chance of producing a dark ebony and even a small chance of producing an extra dark ebony (about 10%). This results from the increased number of ebony genes they have.

Yes, I'm pretty sure standard gray x ebony TOV ebony silver can produce any of the following:
- different shades of ebony (silver carrier)
- different shades of TOV ebony (silver carrier)
- standard gray (silver carrier)
- Black velvet (silver carrier)
**These are just my predictions**
ps. It would not be possible to produce another silver baby since silver is a recessive gene. :)
