I know this probably won’t get a response, but I just want to share how appreciative I am to live in an age where people of marginalized groups can speak out and have a platform and share their experiences. I myself am white, but I’ve done a lot of research on the history of misogynoir for a college assignment, and this bit 17:27 reminded me of an article I read from the Jim Crow Museum, about the history of the “black brute” stereotype. Basically, black men were depicted as savages that would SA white women, even though in reality it was much more realistic for a white man to SA a black woman. That stereotype was used to justify black people having fewer rights, for the sake of the “safety” of the “pure” white woman. Looking at not just that clip, not just this entire situation, but so much more through that lens has been really enlightening and fascinating to see how the myth of the “black brute” lingers in the 21st century, and the people who perpetuate it, intentionally or not. In some sick, twisted way, I’m glad this woman wants to monetize her breeding kink, and I’m glad other people are chiming in, even if their takes are extremely unpleasant.

i like your message about community, but I don't have much desire to meet my neighbors. I think we need to broaden our concept of community and maybe use new terms. A church or school is just as much a community that doesn't rely on immediate proximity, and you'll at least have more options for friends. I think people are too quick to reduce community to a litteral interpretation of Jesus's "love thy neighbor" message. A great message, but one said at a time and place where society was on a different scale. The normalization of substituting institutions for social interactions is a really good point. Its hard to tell of people are being reductive on the topic and just not seeing the nuance, or if they're doing it on purpose because it supports their ideology.

I totally get what foreign is saying at the end here, I remember growing up in a neighborhood that was like a village. Everybody knew everybody, everybody looked out for everybody's kids, we all knew what was going on in the community and helped each other out. The problem now though... is that as an adult who is queer, with a trans partner, living in the south - I'm afraid of my neighbours, man.
