What i enjoy about planetside 2 is that there is a main goal of capturing the continents. And then you can go about in whatever way you want to do that. I am a casual player who struggles to get good but keeps trying new things from time to time. I'm lacking in the game theory, map knowledge, firing patterns, vehicle movement

One of the few people I seen with the will to say the truth that yes the VS are OP as they got some busted shit just in weapons alone, not counting the Magrider. Yet people keep claiming the VS have the worst shit in the game or often get the worst shit. The TR have received unjust nerfs for some of the same reasons some VS weapons are busted and the TR wont even OP to begin with.

Don't know about PC but a good tactic on console version is to buy a Cronus and ensure you have that dialed in.

Trust me when I say your PC is not the reason you’re getting low FPS my PC hasn’t been upgraded in like four years and I can still run it at 120 FPS with ultra graphics

I might be new to the game but it’s clear as day what the true issue is. TR = headless chickens who qq in chat all day Nc = some Harry Potter stuff sometimes they practicing there spells in the corner and you don’t see them sometimes they slaying the realm. Vs = mostly interested in pushing / playing the game and letting there skills talk for them while the rest qq and all them cheaters Me personally iv played a lot of other shooters came here for 1 week and was getting accused… that’s kinda sad you got 10+ year vets getting stomped by noobs then qq and report them for being better lol what have you done the last 10 years ngl this entire community seems like a big bunch of pathetic cry babies I started on TR and left like 3 days later to join vs best choice ever no good player wants to be stuck with those idiots that’s why they lose

Merging the EU servers would merge the vanu overpop from Cobalt to Miller and kill that server too. The overpop issue needs to be fixed first because it kills basically all the alerts on cobalt. The overpop was slowly progressing over the last years and might be the reason most players left (at least I did), further increasing the overpop. At the moment it's just spiraling out of control. Looking on ps2alerts the stats for the year 2024 say that vanu alone won half of the alerts. imho merging this with miller would be a bad mistake and could kill the EU community. But after all I agree it's still a great game, theres nothing like it.

They could bring back old Esamir, nerf scout rifles and infil and id be happy. Everything else is pretty much just copium at this point. Nothing else is wrong with the game

Imo it’s 100% the players I started on TR and quit them after 1 week they didn’t work together they were completely brain dead my 9 year old has / uses more common sense then them lol 😂 you tell them they are stupid idiots they yell no we are not then proceed to flame each other in chat calling each other stupid lol 😂 tried joining a bigger outfit also n they were pathetic imo randoms on VS play better then organized TR groups I can say that without a doubt I honestly wasn’t even having fun on TR once I switched I began having a blast playing the game farming all those chumps oh well they should of listened now they can enjoy the spawn room lol 😂

You are 💯 correct on flying ESFs I play on ps5 (most of the time) and PC and flying for me is the hardest part of the game to get good at. I could probably practice more often but with ops with my outfit on Playstation I don't have lot of time for practice, and on continents at least on the Playstation game I am basically a sitting duck for the flyers with lots of experience

Nice to hear the subject of outfit and faction balance being mentioned. For me, the decline in organized NC outfits, has been part of the reason I no longer find it entertaining to play on Cobalt. It requires too much effort and planning to gather even enough players to field 3 Vanguards, while VS, and in particular TR, can field both organized air and land vehicles to the battle. Moved to Miller NC - hoping for a server merge in the future.

Flying experience should be improved by a lot to make it easier for beginners. That would help a lot.

Air anomaly and maximum pressure alerts. I like them, however if they bring them back. They need to not make aircraft free or maxes free. Making it free reallly just encourages spamming during these alerts and isn't healthy

The fact that the devs still do not see that LAs having the ability to wield C4 and rocket rifle and now the ability to move swiftly through the air in a single loadout is insanely moronic. If they care so much about spawns then get LAs need to be put in place, but we all know they do not have the intellect to grasp it and therefore the game remains eternally broken.

More people would be flying I think if the controls for flight didn't...absolutely suck. Unless something has changed recently. Worse, the flying controls are used sometimes almost as a gatekeeping mechanic, because it takes so, so, so long to become remotely proficient with them. I've played plenty of flight games (X-Wing, the old Jane's games, to modern like Elite Dangerous), I have a HOTAS setup (nothing crazy, just a TS1600M), and the fact I can't use that setup bugs the absolute shit out of me. Worse, the mouse+keyboard would be more doable if they were more refined and/or manipulable in the settings. But there just isn't that much in the way of fine-tuning. It's needlessly tricky and difficult and serves as a massive wall to taking part in flying in the game. And particularly for casuals/newbs, that's an easy thing to prioritize out with so many *other* things to do in the game. I know the controls used to be a lot more intuitive before the Playstation days, so surely there's some sort of PC-side fix they can implement to restore that. Just my 2 cents on the flight thing.

Average pop is decreasing by a few percentages each month, it's been getting worse for a year now if not more. If they don't wanna merge servers, then I don't know how the game will survive, ps3 is probably the only way out. Just my two cents...

You need to do about 10+ years worth of research and history for the "alienating Wrel" comment. Gimme a fucking break.

vanu players generally are more skilled/sweaty than players of the other factions, that said, its probably because when sweaty tryhards first join planetside they see guns that are hard to control (TR), guns that have recoil (NC), and guns with no recoil (VS) and obviously pick no recoil - every other stat is subordinate to the control factor since they dont matter if you don't land your shots. that filter then snowballs until you have a whole faction of players who are good at shooters/aiming with a more sweaty culture. i know from talking to other PLs on connery that leading vanu platoons is much easier compared to the other two factions, people on VS just have a culture of trying compared to NC and TR. but bottom line is that the guns are the main reason for the disparity. regarding infils i actually think your suggestion a couple months ago is the best, get rid of SMGs for infils (obviously), swap bolters from infil to engi (or, alternatively, just deny invis bolting, infils can have their bolty they just cant pop in and out of fucking warp), personally if we get rid of primaries for infils like that i'd like to see them be able to dual wield pistols because im a filthy casual XD but i dont think that'd be nearly as rough as it is now. I don't care for dok's solution but i think it'd probably have a similar result to just banning the SMG. its still going to be incredibly annoying to be doing everything right and then get traded out by some .5 KD infil because your teammates are blind, or to just get two tapped by some shitter in a corner, and without just removing invisibility or nerfing infils into the ground idk how to fix that in particular.

When you have one faction with better accuracy stats than the other factions, there is always going to be a disparity. Always.

Every day that servers are not merged ps2 is bleeding players. Merging servers can in my eyes save ps2 for 2-5 years more. If they dont do that soon the average game pop will soon go below 500.

Why invisibility removed from Planetside 2: Simple just because yu arent vs 10 invisible enemy against you every 5 min. none on PVP has invisible enemy since PVP games ever released. Just here in PS2 someones make it and its for noobs who just want Directives or whetever kills etc. Please stop defend people which exist just bacuse they have free kill while invisible. its just bad in game and didnt have anything with PVP i hope its clear. No need 10 min video for it.

There are several improper arguments here. New players not helpless: I have made new characters and even a new account with someone. Most stock guns or cheap variant are very good. Certs early on are easy to obtain and invest. The 1st thing to invest certs into is is a medic or engineer. Heavy is "good to go" except to upgrade their over-shield and gun attachments. The exception is implants, it takes a fairly long time to get decent ones, like Survivalist 5 and Sensor shield 4. Yes, public platoons are inferior to coordinated platoons, but that is something players can aspire to or be in awe of (seeing or being on the receiving end of). That door is always open to anybody who wants to play that way. Public platoon leads understand they are effectively "herding cats", but generally steer people in the right direction and give general advice, with enough vets interspersed to make up for gaps. Sometimes, its also worth overpopping a fight 60-40, if it means capping the base decisively. "Concentration of force" and "defeat in detail" are good Napoleon tactics for PL's to remember. Recently, I ran a public platoon on Esamir (SW warpgate). On alert, I led 1 public to fight 2 squads at frostfall overlook. I gave orders for vehicles, sunderers, squad leads and setting up positions. 2 minutes later, it was 50-50. Last 30 seconds, it was 60-40 against us. We won. We later captured Terran BL-4, but the TR went for us. We held out against double our forces, and held that base for 20 minutes until overwhelmed by 35 vs 65% pop The TR beat us back to Elli Forest, where we made our stand. We beat them convincingly, despite only having 40% pop to their 60%. Many TR left. I ordered an armor column to BL-4, set up, and won 50-50%. We made a new armored column, flanked Frostfall overpass and won, with enough time to recapture Ymir, that became cut off. We barely won with 35% map control. We ended up winning the alert. While our platoon didn't win the alert on our own, I know we created value against a greater force, and had a good time. Platoon and squad leaders who know when to leave fights, when to initiate fights, and set up for a fight (+ good beacon placements) is good enough for me.

Not an issue for me. Ofc there is a guy who spent thousands of hours playing infantry. He's going to take you down 1 on 1 most of the time in any situation. Well, find another way to be useful. Eventually things work out and you'll be able to wipe your enemies out of the point. If not, it's also fine. You don't need to have k/d more than 1.0 to enjoy your gameplay.

I played PS2 since 2014 or something, I spent over 2 months of my life time driving a harasser and I remember how after the Bastion update we hade 3, sometimes even 4 continents open. I played yesterday (sunday) evening on Cobalt after a very long break and there was 1 good fight on the entire map and everything else was 12 people or something. Really feels like the last days but I will enjoy it and run you filthy infantry fuckers over nontheless. <3 The biggest problem of PS2 in my opinion has been the lack of a consistent experience. And with the recent pop drops it has been getting worse. Unless you are a degenerte like me who will hack a vehicle terminal on NC/TR land as Vanu, with the skill to survive that deep in enemy terretory as a fury harasser, you just can't play. You have to pray for the continent to stay locked to 3 lanes in the middle for any consistency. And consistency has always been a problem. Back in the day you were either getting zerged or you were part of a zerg, which is both extremely boring. Sundies are soo squishy that a fight can be ended by a single LA, forcing you to redeploy. The devs never really understood what made the Planetside experience great and unique and I almost think the Bastion update was an accident on their part. Giving players a common objective to fight both against and towards was amazing. I feel like PS2 could have been really fucking big if handled properly.
