Ailsa First Holy Communion! 年味饺子 Chinese Lamian Restaurant Kimberley St. & Cheng Woh medicinal hall
A Special Week: First Holy Communion, Outdoor Fun & Dumplings Delight!
Welcome to this week’s vlog, a heartwarming and delicious adventure! The week started with Ailsa’s First Holy Communion at the Immaculate Conception Church in Penang. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I want to express my gratitude to the teachers and organizers for making it so special. The children performed a delightful song and dance after the Mass, followed by a fun class party! 🎉
The vlog continues the next day with a family outing to the Taman Permai playground, where we had a casual lunch outdoors. The kids loved eating sandwiches on swings, and I took a moment to chat about the week’s highlights.
For the final segment, we enjoyed a family breakfast that’s a bit unconventional for Penang but gaining popularity. At 年味饺子 on Kimberley Street, we savored delicious la mian and authentic Chinese dumplings, pan-fried and steamed, dipped in tangy vinegar and ginger. The flavors were amazing!
After the meal, we explored Campbell Street and visited Cheng Woh Medicinal Supplies, a fascinating shop offering dried goods, herbs, fruits, and traditional Chinese medicinal items.
👉 Watch to join our family’s memorable week and tasty discoveries. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more adventures!

Congratulations again Ailsa on ur First Holy Communion..... soon it'll be Issac's turn.... May God continue to bless you and ur family, Always🎉❤🙏
The so call ‘ knife cut noodle’ doesn’t look like hand made. It’s looks more like from a retail store that u can buy from a Chinese store. If it’s hand made, it’s don’t look like this. 😅
Thank you for sharing the awesome footage of Alisa's FHC and Congratulations too. Hope your vehicle will be back soon and great joy watching your family outing videos. Stay blessed and joyful always.
Congratulations Alisa God Bless you ❤❤️
@@beatricecampbell7566 thank you so much... it was a very nice ceremony
Hi, I chanced upon your video and I find that you're naturally talented and excellent at what you do. And your family is great too. As someone who is born in Penang, I sometimes find it hard to really find good food in Alor Setar when I travel there for some work, but with your video, at least, I can now have options to patronise the food vendors there. Thank you and all the best to you and lovely family!
@@patrickktpc1513 thank you... I am sure there are many more great new places to go... I will share whatever I know!
Was at Chowrasta this morning +-9.30 having b fast at the coffee shop behind Chowrasta. Last came to Penang almost a year ago noticed foods portion getting smaller but the worst experience was last night CKT at Lebuh Carnavon, saw CKT shop with a big banner proclaiming as 1st runner in CKT competition, out of curiosity ordered a plate, RM10 for a small plate, expensive and totally not worth it, if such quality can be 1st runner up than Penang CKT quality has deteriorated☹️.
I guess we haven't been able to escape inflation... the only thing I eat at Lebuh Carnavon is the wan than mee and maybe the curry mee. Why not try Seng Ghee CKT at Jin Cafe in the morning? (CLOSED ON SUNDAY) maps.app.goo.gl/S5uPyuMqBadFtDbbA Only RM6.50 per plate, full of wok hei. I eat there 2-3 times a month!
Great shots of Alisa's FHC. May your family be Blessed Always 🙏....and don't forget to keep them great clips coming ya 😁
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
Hye Sir, what is a Holy Communion?
It is the breaking and receiving the Body of Christ during Mass for Catholics, and you have to receive a few years of religious instruction before you can receive it. Ailsa and her friends have learned about religion at Catechism for a few years and so they have been deemed ready for Holy Communion.
The Chinese noodles looks like mee huen kueh to me
Not very far off... but the texture of these noodles I would say is firmer and has more bite. And the shapes they are prepared in is quite unique.

Stay in Malaysia because you were too old to make a move to my country of New Zealand and you should have organized yourself a job before you decided to move to New Zealand.
Ailsa with her "power word".... Soooooo Amazing.. 🙄.. Both Her eyes glared widely.... Fuyohhhh... Future Connoisseur..
I think she watches too many Mark Wiens videos... hahaha
New Zealand is a difficult country to migrate to if you come from a country that has a low exchange rate for money. Many migrants under estimate that factor. Also being a small country the professional skilled worker who holds experience from working in other Western Countries for a good length of time has a better chance of employment. The New Zealand Professional Accredited Societies are a tight group and becoming Accredited to them takes time and can be easier if you hold degrees or diplomas from some Western Universities. I have known Doctors from Iraq having to do more study to become Accredited in NZ, this can be expensive. The advantages tho can be that the accreditation is recognized in Australia. Also some people don't understand that giving birth in New Zealand doesn't make your child a New Zealander. Only valid Permanent Residency or naturalization to New Zealand Citizenship held by foreign born parents allows a child to be a New Zealander. Some migrants delay having children until they achieve PR. Your story is important for potential migrants to know about.
Absolutely correct. I do have a degree from an accredited university ( I studied at the University of Glasgow in Scotland) and I had 20+ years of experience in engineering and manufacturing. But I didn't apply for jobs in that sector as my first line of thought was to get settled in proper while earning enough for some of the bills, we did bring enough money to last us 2 years at least to be frank, but in the end it was just the family stuff which made us rethink the strategy. All in all, it was tough. It was tougher than I expected because having to juggle everything on top of settling in to a new place did take a toll on me. But we live and learn, I have no regrets, knowing what I know now, I'd still go for it at the time. The boy was healed and perfectly healthy thanks to the NZ medical system. And I do think I left at the right time because if I had to stay indoors for a year or so during the pandemic it would have impacted my mental health. So everything happened as it should have and we are all better for the steps we took. Life is amazing, we just have to do, and learn... I do hope my sharing will help someone out there in any small way. 🥰🥰
Is this place in Penang ?
Yes madam... it is on Sri Bahari Road... I think there are 2 or 3 Nyonya restaurants there.
Durians, ahhhh my favourite but in Singapore not cheap. Will hv to make a trip to Lim brother's one season.....
It's all supply and demand, and also durians don't have a long shelf life. Eating it fresh the same day it dropped makes a huge difference in the quality. Many durian farmers rush down the durians by lorry to Singapore as soon as they are collected. It is a tough job, although they only work during the fruit season

NZ is now one of the most expensive country in the world. Not only property, petrol and groceries more expensive these days.
stay in your country filipina
A lot of you travellers don't realise NZ 🇳🇿 is an expensive country to live in, because its so far away from everything. But there are some good sides to living in NZ 🇳🇿. Free health care free education up till University where you have to pay. Also the lifestyle is awesome the natural beauty of the countryside no poisonous animals beaches where you can walk for miles before you see someone, and we have a pretty good minimum wage $23 an hour.
You certainly get your tax money's worth I would say! Clean air, clear waters, beautiful countrysides.... the very first day we arrived and checked into our Airbnb I felt great! What I did find expensive was property and rent. With some smart hunting and shopping food wasn't too high for us because I cooked all our meals. I wish I had gone fishing when I was there. 😄😄
The biggest problem with foreigners who move to NZ 🇳🇿 is they move to the main cities, where most of their own kind of people live. But if they would move outside the main centers to the smaller citys or towns they would find it easier to find good paying work and accommodation and a more relaxed way of life. So do your homework before coming to NZ 🇳🇿, about accommodation jobs the area you want to live in. It will make moving to NZ 🇳🇿 easier then turning up and having to find everything all at once. There are online NZ 🇳🇿 company's you can go through that can sort it all out for you, so when you get here you can move in to your new home or start a new job kids can be placed into schools or daycare.. They make it easier for you to migrate to NZ 🇳🇿.😊😊😊😊
Absolutely... The whole experience was eye opening for us, and I hope people will learn from what we did wrong and also how lovely a country overall New Zealand is to us.
Typical Msians thinking the other side is greener than yours. Yes Msia has its problem, namely the racist government policies and the racist so called people. Then you have the 3R. Do you know Msians have a bad reputation abroad, eg punctuality, always thinking they can do many things but in fact they can’t, their stinginess, poor mannerism, etc
You are doing a good job, dad. Children are blessed when they are taken care of by their own parents. Your eldest daughter is getting very tall now, and she does a good job looking after her little brother.
Oh thank you so much... as parents we don't really know what we are doing sometimes, just by trial and error LOL! And yes, Naomi is quite good at taking care of her siblings... Ailsa is the cheeky middle child, and Isaac is the spoilt boy hahaha
I started watching your vids about last week as I was sesrching for penang Indian food. I joke about you and Naomi are like my eldest and I because we both love Indian food! Lol I have to agree with others here that this running scene is very wholesome! Which drone did you use to shoot this?
Oh we love Indian food, but somehow she likes Indian vegetarian which is strange because she is not a big vegetable eater! 😃
@@pishedbloke well good for her! At least shes getting fiber from somewhere! ;) Seeing her react to indian meals is so convincing, I think you should start endorsing indian restos

I love Penang n the people there.
I think every country has good (and not so good) people... we all also have our cultures and little nuances. I have friends in Singapore I still keep in touch with since I lived there in the 90's. It is a blessing to meet people who become lifelong friends!
Don't you find it expensive in Singapore. I do being a Singaporean.
I think if I earned a living in Singapore, it is still OK. But for a Malaysian.... of course it is more expensive. :)
Thanks for sharing your story. You are right in that moving in your middle age is definitely harder than if you had moved when younger.
