Curious to know what the hiking poles you’re “attached to” are? I need some recommendations for good poles.

Any setting that needs to be adjusted to hear the audio back through the phone speaker with the recorded clip on black magic app after the clip is shot? Only way I’ve been able to hear what i recorded is to disconnect the mic from the iPhone and it plays no problem. Is this normal?

Being Able to see the infrared light is a deal breaker. Totally defeats the purpose of them. But thanks for pointing that out. It's a critical detail that needs to be known.

Looks like AKASO is going crazy with their YT marketing. It's second video I see about it made by a hiking UA-camr. That said, I hate the pointless 4K mode and the ridiculous digital zoom. This makes it sound like some cheap toy. These are purely marketing figures and have nothing to do with the capabilities of the device. The video resolution should be matching the usable resolution. Some digital zoom is OK in the field, but at the highest settings it just looks like ants fighting. But in the end this device gives you something that you cannot achieve otherwise. I bet it is fun to use.... or it is frightening, because everything looks like you in the Blair Witch Project.

I am considering options as I film outdoors in the UK and am trying to combine image stabilization and being able to capture the views and the landscapes of where I walk, with also being able to talk to camera, but the lack of weatherproofing just knocks out the Pocket 3 sadly

The permanent blurry background is a major minus for the Pocket 3.

Another very poor image quality action cam. The world needs more of them.

Using headphones and could definitely hear it with the active stabilisation off also. I reckon something wrong. The sound is definitely there on/off.

I'd buy the Sony and turn stabilization off.

Why Stephen! Why!? 😭 I have the mk1 and use 2 sigma lenses 16mm 1.4 and 10-18 2.8 on my 7a's it's all Sigma except my 70-200 is the only sony I have. Your absolutely spot on with the noise of the lenses with built in lS even worse if you use a gimble. I won't be upgrading to the Mk2 as much as I like full frame I have a bad habit of dropping my camera on the odd occasion 😬 👍

So decided not to move over to upgrade from the zv1 and have been using Nikon z5 . I got the viltrox 20mm which has been absolutely brilliant.

My issue with the RS twin is that you cannot take 360 photos, like the x3 can if I understood correctly.

This is a dandy camera for the money, if anyone wants better performance then they should get more expensive equipment. Nice review, I think the camera works great when Kayaking or cycling which is what I do. Finally, very often videos or photos will be processed on the PC. Even stabilization can be improved on the PC. Good job.

I agree..I have both drones..But that is the only reason....The Neo is far cheaper and way more capable than the X-1.

Dear Steve, On the 4:30 you are showing a daylight; and on the 4:45 you are showing a lowlight comparison between Insta360 Ace Pro and DJI Osmo Action 4. I strongly dissagree with your conslusions. You are severly out of focus on the daylight image on Ace Pro. The same goes for the night image, where every letter is clean and clear on the Action 4 without being oversharped, and wobbly and unlean on the Ace Pro. Therefore I consider you either a madman or a blatant shill to call Insta360 Ace Pro a winner in these scenarios. I really enjoyed the statments in the other chapters, you gave really strong and appealing points, but they are tainted in desbelief for me due to the prior reasoning

Why do I have to download a third party app, this is so frustrating

This is interesting because if you have a DJI Neo, you can use the mic to record audio (voiceover) to the iPhone while using the Neo controller app, and it will cancel out the sound of the drone. And you won’t need a wired connect to the mic.

The issue is the deadcat gets in the way if you're recording with the rode.

Not worth the added expense for X1 Pro max.

Great content, but the limitations are always going to be size, cost and performance. And like you said, it's essentially on a stick, weighs almost nothing, has mechanical stabilisation and does 4k 120fps.

I use 2 x opposite facing Go 3S inside a 3D printed pod lowered into the sea by a DJI drone - this in order to derive 360 degree video at 10m depth. PERFECT camera...
