    I said the Mini 4 pro was "sub 150gram", I meant to say "Sub 250gram". I now have the Mini 4 Pro, so I will be making a few videos about it.

    I live in Hawaii and I own a Mini 3 Pro and an Air 3, for me the wind is the biggest issue, the mini series simply isn't great in the wind. It can handle a lot of wind, but at the cost of battery life and overall stability. The mini 3 does show movement in heavy winds, it's not crazy, but compared to the Air 3 which is rock solid, it's a pretty big difference. Like you said the tele lens makes a massive difference, and gives your footage a unique feel compared to the rest of UA-cam. The mini 4 pro is a great drone, and if you're outside the U.S. then it's probably the better choice due to regulations, but in the U.S. I feel the Air 3 is the better choice. The Mavic 3 is honestly in a weird spot, its not quite pro enough for pro's and its to pro for most of us amateur want to be film makers (a.k.a. UA-camrs)...Thanks as always for the content and comparison.

      Yeah the Air3 really does sit in a sweet spot for outdoor content creators.

      Basically if you don't want to register you RID then the Mini user 250g, but if you're wanting more than 25 minutes of flight & not to fly slow doing it then get the Air3. Given each battery has a 200 cycle lifespan the Mini 4 costs $1.94 per flight & the AIR3 costs $2.59 per flight(not including accessories or charging costs). Plus the 100 watt charger offers 82w of charging so it's faster than the mini at getting in the air even if it's sitting on the shelf.

    It'll be replacing my air 2 that I've been flying for a few years. Thanks for the video, I really am excited for it's arrival. I'll be selling the air 2 to my cousin as his first drone, which should perform great in that role IMO

    Ah decisions, decisions! I had the original mavic air from when it was launched 5 or 6 years ago and lost it into a flooded field a few weeks after a motor malfunction. Now don't know what to do between the mini 4 and Air 3. Like the size of the mini for hiking and camping in Mournes etc but like the 70mm lens on the air and the flight capabilityin wind. The mini fly more. Can be got for £880 now too. Bugger!

    Few days ago was release date of Mini 4 Pro and... next day I've ordered an Air 3, it's gonna be my first drone ever! Anyway Mini 4 Pro is amazing little drone but second 70mm lens on Air 3 is for me a game changer, especially because I like mostly lenses around 50mm on my APS-C camera which is equivalent of 75mm. Amazing shots and I'm really glad I've found your video. I have 3 questions:
    1. Air 3 has two different fixed apertures, so what ND filters you suggest to use? As I know Freewell released split ND filters so one stop difference between lenses (for example ND8 for 3 x and ND16 for wide angle). Or it's not a big deal and it's better to use standard ND from DJI or Freewell (one glass for both) and just tweak up ISO or Shutter Speed when changing focal lengths (I don't know if switching is without lag like in iPhone)? Also if it's better to use NDs which also have polarization?
    2. About regulations (mainly in EU) with this paid "license/certificate" which you mentioned, you can fly almost with the same convenience as Mini series? I'll do a lot of real estate shots so I must fly in the cities and I don't want meetings with local police too much.
    3. Mavic 3 Pro also has 70mm lens but as I remember darker aperture but same sensor. So Air 3 shouldn't be better with this lens in low light conditions than Mavic 3 Pro?
    You mentioned something important which I haven't heard in other videos. Longer flight time in crucial moments like sunsets or sunrise. Great video anyway with beautiful cloud shots, thanks!
    Greetings from much less windy Poland 😉

    • @stevestechemporium
      @stevestechemporium  11 місяців тому +1

      1. Honestly I almost never use ND. Most of my drone filming is in situations where the light can change quickly so 99% of the time I don't use them. If I need the motion blur, I can add it in post. But most of my style of drone shot, ND filters don't help much. But I would recommend the freewell ones with the different values, would make it easier.
      2. You would need to check the EU specific rules, I'm in UK so it's slightly different. But yes the cheapest certification removes a lot of the restrictions. Although I need to keep 50m away from uninvolved people. but that's common sense.
      3. I think it's the same 2.8 aperture on similar sensor size, but I've heard that the Air3 70mm is slightly better.
      Haha, Poland may be less windy, but I bet it gets a lot colder in winter!

    very informative however you are a professional and the air 3 would be better suited for those individuals. could i not get the same affect with final cut pro to zoom into shots like your 70mm lens does. i just bought the mini 4 and own the mini 3, what nd filters should i get. right not they have 32, 64 and 256

      Crop is not the same as a different lens.

    • @stevestechemporium
      @stevestechemporium  11 місяців тому

      That’s why I said at the start that the Mini 4 Pro is probably the best for most people. Zooming into shots in Final Cut isn’t the same as changing lens, it won’t look the same and it’ll also severely degrade the quality as you’ll be zooming into 300%

    How does the A2CoC reduce separation distances? I thought it only did that for drones less than 500g.

    • @stevestechemporium
      @stevestechemporium  11 місяців тому

      once C2 drones start appearing (weight up to 4kg) the A2CofC reduces the separation distance down to 5m. I was sure it also reduced the distance for non-classified drones 500g - 2kg from 150m to 50m. But now struggling to find that information. it's a complicated mess and common sense needs to be applied.
