Decrease bloating by avoiding these sneaky gas-inducing foods
Get the bloat-free fiber you need and use code VD25 to get 25% off your first order at Bellway bit.ly/3QEPdvY
Bloating is uncomfortable. Period. Nobody likes to feel bloated and gassy. But unfortunately, bloating seems to happen more frequently when we start to eat healthier and try to lose weight. So what gives?! Well, if this bloating issue is happening to you, then you might be sensitive to FODMAPs (aka fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols). FODMAPs are short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that the small intestine absorbs poorly. So in today's video, I dive into what are some high FODMAP foods, how you can find what you're most sensitive to, and how to still get your daily fiber in without the bloating.

This is interesting, though I'm not a fan of leaning away from something because "it leads to unhealthy behaviors". Human reaction to data shouldn't be a consideration for the data. I think they might be a decent indicator to get leads of foods to at least experiment with to see if there actually is an inflamation. I'm not sure if these tests should be -banned-, but maybe should not be labeled as a "allergy test" and should be required to disclose the details of what they actually do.

I'm so confused now. My functional provider had me take the food sensitivity test. It showed high levels of IgG response to all dairy except camel milk and eggs, along with things like watermelon and honey. She had me eliminate these foods based on the results and begin probiotics, prebiotics, and a GI detox to take care of H. Pylori, strep, staph, and to balance my gut bacteria. She said that the goal is to get my stomach to heal and produce digestive enzymes again so i can add those foods back. If IgG is a memory response that indicates a better tolerance, why didn't I get high levels for things like chicken or beef, and other foods that are staples of my diet like rice?

Hi, I feel the same I torn my acl 18 months ago and I feel like I'm stock now I have more swelling than last year, and I don't understand why. I want to go see my surgery doc again to see maybe take MRI to see if anything is wrong on inside. I'm very frustrated now I can't play soccer as much as I wanted to, and I can't get my knee straight when walking a lot of days now. I feel I was better 12 months after surgery than now.

Your initial injury you described in your first video about poping your calf muscle before your ACL injury, I'm curious about which leg that calf strain was on. Same exact thing happened to me 2 to 3 weeks prior to my ACL injury but on the opposite leg. I've wondered if it was from over compensation of using my right leg more because of the left calf muscle strain prior. Just interested in your experience and thoughts. Thanks

Very well said. You did a great job of articulating what I have been feeling for quite some time. Sticking with the simple healthy basics such as good food choices, daily movement, sleep, less stress, not smoking , no drugs or alcohol has kept me feeling strong and healthy for 62 years . Granted, knowledge is power and both the phd vegan and the phd carnivore have many studies to back their claims so both have their merits. For me, a diet of meats, veggies, fruits, good fats, makes me feel my best. To each their own I say.

I had a catastrophic parachute landing injury in 2012. Broke my neck, back, collarbones and lost mobility from head to toe. I developed my own rehab system using loaded stretches, knees over toes training, and calisthenics. Ended up being stronger than before the accident and finished another 9 years of service without even getting on profile! Cool to see this kind of program went mainstream.

Congratulations Victoria. Great update. All your videos were very helpful for me just before and after my surgery. I had my ACL surgery and meniscus repaired in two places in December 2023. Till now I regained full extension full flexion but I have some weird symptom which is strange even for my physiotherapist. When I try to fully extend my leg from around 15-20 degrees to 0 degrees I can hear some pop and can feel that something is moving within the knee but in very minimal way. Very unpleasant feeling as it is happening almost every time and it is very uncomfortable during exercises like leg extension. Did anyone have similar symptoms?

I partially tore my acl and meniscus almost 2 years ago and still can't walk. I didn't get the proper medical attention. Now going through PT but I feel the pain I have when trying to apply pressure is causing me instability and my knee twists and then falling. I too had a problem with my calf muscle a few weeks prior. I had been considering making myself a sled, but was worried that ones I have seen on UA-cam would damage the grass in my garden. Then I noticed the enamel roasting tray that was in my old oven (and is now surplus to requirements and in my study). It is wide and smooth, with useful holes to attach straps to, for pulling. I have put a carpet offcut in the bottom to prevent damage from metal weights, and now have a free sled. I may also add a central pole to hold the weights better.

Our stories are so similar but I am just a lot older (mid 40’s). I have always been extremely athletic my whole life and played Level 1 sports even throughout college and beyond. I have had injuries but NOTHING like this! When my ACL tore and then when I had complications (infection in the knee & knee cap broke) shortly after surgery, my mental health tanked. I am still recovering. 6 1/2 weeks post op and thankfully I feel like I am finally making progress. I can’t thank you enough for making this video. I could not imagine sitting down and putting a video together much less filming my PT grueling appointments due to the pain and… let’s face it, I’m still going through it. I may definitely going to have to see about searching for these support groups. I didn’t even know they existed. This video has been a blessing! FYI - Incrediwear support wear has been god send! It works! I wear the leg sleeve 24/7 and I also have their knee brace. Love them ❤ I also highly recommend them for anyone. Thanks again for sharing your experience with the rest of us.

Have you achieved some hyper extension back in your knee? I ask this because my non-op knee is def probably 5 or so degrees under 0, def has natural hyper extension. I am currently almost 6 weeks post op and I feel like the answer I keep receiving is I won’t ever get hyper extension back in my operative leg. I also had a bucket handle meniscus repair + ACLR, so I have to be careful going forward how I rehab this knee in recovery. I’m not even weight bearing just yet. But I do feel like unevenness poses a risk to my left leg. Thoughts?
