    ACL injuries are continuously increasing, especially for female athletes. But why? And how can we do a better job at preventing them from happening in the first place?
    In today's video, I discuss some of the reasons that ACL injuries are one of the most common knee ligament injures, and how you can incorporate Ben Patrick's (aka the Knees Over Toes Guy) ATG program to help strengthen your knees and make them less susceptible to injuries.
    HUGE thanks again to Ben Patrick and the whole ATG fam for letting me pop into the gym and see behind the scenes. You guys are an inspiration!
    NOTE: The ATG program is not meant to be used as a replacement for physical therapy after ACL surgery.

    ATG program will certainly change the sports environment in the future and being 35 40 or 50 won’t be synonym of retirement. I’ve always found the idea of 35 year old athletes being “too old” absolutely ridiculous.

    Thank you for the videos on your ACL recovery. I’m a little over a year and a half post op and while I don’t have pain, I still don’t have full range of motion either. I have also watched several of the knees over toes videos and greatly appreciate you sharing that it does work, I will definitely look further into his program.

    I’m about to start the ATG Zero program, can’t wait! I’m so tired of foam rolling to eliminate, what I’ve been told is nerve pain, the nagging pain for 30 minutes just to get a leg routine in. Even with the foam rolling, the idea of playing basketball or trail running is challenging. I want to bulletproof my body and the ATG and functional strength training stuff seems legit for longevity.

    Amazing work! Thanks for the video! Last week I got ACL surgery for my other knee. It’s been a year with my first ACLR. I still feel its happening in a dream with the second knee injury & surgery and going over this process again. Once I am out of the rehab process, I can’t wait to follow the videos of knees over toes program and improve my knee strength (mainly hamstrings)

    I did something to my knee 🤷🏾‍♀️…. Started trying to lose weight zumba 2x a week and doing strong lifts 5x5…. Then one day after Zumba it hurt to do anything single legged, going up the stairs, going down the stairs….
    Found n followed Ben then start doing a few of the simple workouts (tib raises and the step downs)… and my knee started feeling better… now I’m starting Zero tomorrow (literally purchased today) and found you. Your story is amazing.
    What i have not seen was many ppl referencing this helping with joints AND possibly helping with weight loss? Is there anyone who addresses any success with losing fat (50 +lbs) and getting stronger knees simultaneously? I’m 5’7” and 275 and honestly just want to get below 200 and not deal the pain i deal with daily. 😢

    Hi, nice to meet you!🙂

    • @VictoriaDorsano
      @VictoriaDorsano  Рік тому

      So sorry to hear that! But it is totally normal to still have some trouble bending the knee fully right now. Keep working on it and in time you’ll get there!

  • @AB09MJ9935
    @AB09MJ9935 10 місяців тому

    Hello Victoria. I had my ACL reconstruction surgery 4 months ago. I haven't gained full extension and flexion of the knee. How long does that process takes where I don't have to warm up properly to have normal full ROM of extension and flexion like the other leg? And how long I should be waiting or when should I be starting with ATG work? With basic sled pulls and zero program?

    • @VictoriaDorsano
      @VictoriaDorsano  10 місяців тому

      You could probably start the zero program by now! Check with your PT if you’re still working with them.
      Getting full ROM varies per individual! It’s hard to say. But keep trying to actively work that ROM and that will continue to promote full mobility as you heal. You’re still early in the process, but I’d say if you’re still having ROM issues at 8-12 months, check in with your doc.

    What would you consider to be an appropriate time to start doing some of his exercises after I have ACL surgery ?

    • @VictoriaDorsano
      @VictoriaDorsano  Рік тому +1

      It all depends on your healing timeline definitely check in with your PT on the specifics of when you can start. Everyone is different! But the calf raises and tib raises are something that you should be able to start sooner in recovery

    I have done my ACL reconstruction 2 weeks ago, I understand its too early to do anything apart from the PT exercises but in your point of view
    when is the right time to start ATG Zero program?

    • @VictoriaDorsano
      @VictoriaDorsano  Рік тому

      I’d check with your PT, but I’d say a lot of the movements can be regressed to start around months 3-6 depending on the exercise. The FHL and KOT calf raises can be started earlier, along with the Patrick step. Then split squat probably not until later.

    Do they have a program for a meniscus tear + acl rupture?

    • @VictoriaDorsano
      @VictoriaDorsano  Рік тому

      Hi there! They don’t have programs specifically designed for ACL and meniscus, but many of their programs can help with that. They have a knee protocol that may help. I’d advise with your doc if the tear was recent before starting the program.
