The warmer weather is here! Which means...we are all wearing less clothes and bearing more skin. But if you've gained some weight in the winter seasons, you're not alone! It's common to put on a few pounds in the colder months, especially in the Northern Hemisphere.
So what now? Do a detox? NO!! (and if you need some reasons as to why, check out a video I made on why detox diets are terrible for you: • Detox Diet For Weight ... ). Instead, there are 3 proven and effective strategies you can use to focus on sustainable weight loss that are all healthy & effective for both the short and long term - which I'll dive into in today's video. In Aug 2022 I quit the Standard American Diet and went (Keto + Intermittent Fasting +No Snacks) for about a month then transitioned to Carnivore as Keto was making me constipated, gassy, and I just felt hungry all the time, not happy, and i didn't enjoy the entirety of veggie loading. Shifting to carnivore was perfect and I was satiated if I had the right balance of fat, sometimes some small hunger but I just knew to eat more for my next meal and stuck with no snacking. Seems restrictive, but I am no longer a snacks, sugars, and soda pop slave, so I will take it.
Anyways the reason I bring this up is that if my protein to fat ratio is too high then my hands, fingers, an knuckles will hurt. This pain started 10 years ago long before I even knew about carnivore. If I eat burger paddies that are 85%/15% protein/fat then I am in significant pain when I wake and throughout the day and will need ibuprofen/advil or something to "hide" the pain. If I eat 80%/20% burger paddies then the pain is barely noticeable. If I eat a ribeye which has very high fat to protein ratio then no pain, just a memory, its unreal, but expensive. I am going to be trying with some 77%/23% burgers next as eating ribeye all the time can bank. Just a self experiment, but I no longer need daily doses of advil/ibuprofen just to get some sleep.
The reason I bring this all up is that I think animal protein is must have, but there seems to be a necessary balance between animal protein and animal fat. go too far with protein either too high or too low problems could manifest over time at least that has been my experience. Different people may need a different requirement, based on age, sex, and activity levels. I have heard some bad things about whey protein causing problems down the road, never used myself, but wonder if protein supplements should be treated as if its processed food and steer clear from it.
Also ever since I removed fiber from my diet, I have no more constipation, very little to no gas, no more bloated gut. No longer starving on a full stomach.
As for sleep, I can usually go right to sleep now, but my body gets me up 6 hours nearly every time. Something I am trying to figure out to get an additional hour, but I feel ok during the day.
I enjoy your videos especially the knees over toes program reviews. Keep up the good work.
