The immaculate conception: It's first reliant on the concept of original sin, whether there is an inherited fallen nature. The eastern orthodox deny this, the western Church believes this. Next is the fact that Christ gets his human nature from Mary, He shares his human nature with her. If He is born without the taint of Original Sin, she cannot be born with Original Sin, and also have never sinned herself. Eastern Orthodox agree she never sinned. This was her salvation, that God preserved her from sin so that His Son can have a mother as perfect as Him. Honestly, the dogma of the Immaculate Conception really comes down to the theology of Original Sin.

Jesus Christ is our only mediator, who also intercedes for us before the Father. Why do we need Mother Mary to intercede for us as many claim? There is nothing in Scripture - no Words of Christ, or the apostles, or St Paul, or St John the beloved - that teaches believers to venerate the Theotokos. I have researched and studied for years the Holy Orthodox faith which I respect greatly, but I fear the teaching concerning St Mary is based upon human human tradition, not the Word of God. Seek Christ only. He is sufficient. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Him (John 14:6). God bless all.

I am definitely growing closer to our most Holy Theotokos what a blessing. Other then venerating her Icon with a kiss I found lighting a candle at the Icon of the Theotokos at the Parish a great way to break the walls down as a former protestant. I liken it to bringing a flower to my mom.

Let's not forget our Medieval History. Joan of Arc's motto was JESUS MARIA. If the one true holy and undefiled virgin Daughter of God, Jehanne Sybille Darc (aka Saint Joan of Arc, aka Santa Juana de Arco) venerates the Virgin Mary, and God tells the archangel Michael to have Joan put the names JESUS MARIA on her battle standard and at the top of her letters she dictated to the enemies of France (The Tribe of Judah of the New Covenant), then maybe we need to rethink our inks i.e. rethink this Virgin Mary Mother of God thing. Personally, I venerate the Holy Mother of God, Isabelle Romee, wife of Jacques d'Arc. Isabelle taught her daughter Joan of Arc everything about the faith, and it was Isabelle who petitioned the Pope in Rome for a retrial to to nullify the verdict against her daughter Joan. Isabelle at age 70, in poor health, made the trip to Paris to make the opening statement at the Rehabilitation/Nullification Trial of Joan of Arc in 1455/56 CE. Does that even sound scriptural; Mother of God? God is self-existent and pre-existed everything. This means God is the creator of all things, including Mary. She couldn't and can't be the mother of God. That's the greatest deception and blasphemy today. She however, found favour with God and became the vessel through which our Lord Jesus Christ world come to the world. Blessed be God, but that doesn't make her the mother of God.

Thank you so much for this video. One thing I thought of after watching this, is that the Virgin Mother Mary was the real Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is a cup or vessel that can receive the divine grace of God, and that’s what she was. She was the “divine vessel” who could receive the grace of God in herself and therefore give birth to God in his human form. Amen and god bless 🙏🙏🙏

This is a lovely film. There was a well-intentioned statement that the Protestant "reformation" caused a further divide within the body of Christ. That statement is inaccurate despite the well-intentioned motive behind it. The Fathers are clear that heretics and schismatics are not part of the body of Christ, though we are called to love them and all of those outside the Church - the body of Christ. The One True Church, the Body of Christ, consists of the canonical Orthodox churches, that is to say: Coptic, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Syriac (which includes the Indian jurisdiction of the Syriac church), and Armenian Orthodox churches. This is what we mean in the liturgy when we pray for the peace of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, which is manifested in the communion of the bishops. If I say that schismatic groups that are separated from the Church are also part of the Church, then I am re-introducing the heresy of Nestorius by saying that the body of Christ is in two communions which are not united.

Okay, ok, look at the word Mary (Mariam, Moria...). In Song of Songs she says "Although I am Black (Moria) I am beautiful". In Germanic biblical history Mary is a Black (Schwarze Mohrin) German with Child from Jordan (Moab) and her people settled Moria. Mary is Mother. Given to us by Christ on that cross dying, in John 19:26-28. John 19:28 says it was prophecy fulfilled. Then ratified in Revelation 12:17. Notice in John 19:27, the last sentence. John owned no house or dwelling. John had given all away to follow Christ, even his heart. John 19:27 should be seen in the Light of John 14:23. You need Mother to get Home!

Our Mother would have the Catholic Church unite once again. As a Roman Catholic I so look forward to this and believe our Faith would be enriched if we were to celebrate the Holy Eucharist as one once more. One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

I saw her too... in my bedroom when I was a child. I thought it was an angel or some spirit apparition, but I remember the feeling that a loving, caring person was looking over me. After watching this video and seeing the image of the blessed virgin in Zeitoun, I realize that it was the Theotokos I saw, watching over me as I lay in my bed. I was not raised Christian. My life has been a spiritual struggle. I grew up in a community of spiritists and psychics, so I was exposed at an early age to demonic influences. Now I am 48 and preparing to be baptized into the Orthodox Church. I realize now that all my life the Theotokos has been interceding before the throne of Christ, on my behalf, even though I am an unbaptized sinner. Glory to God! I am aware of the controversies in the Eastern Orthodox Church concerning ecumenism and interfaith communion, but I will always consider Copts, Armenians, Assyrians, and other "Oriental Orthodox" Christians to be my brothers and sisters in Christ.
