- For the first time an Orthodox documentary that explores the birth, life, and dormition of St. Mary. The film also delves to answer many of the controversial dogmas and heresy's that have been associated with St. Mary, such as the Immaculate conception doctrine, the idea of veneration of St. Mary, the Ever Virginity of St. Mary, the Intercessions of St. Mary, Martin Luther's attacks on St. Mary, and the Apparitions of st. Mary at Zeitoun.

I saw her too... in my bedroom when I was a child. I thought it was an angel or some spirit apparition, but I remember the feeling that a loving, caring person was looking over me. After watching this video and seeing the image of the blessed virgin in Zeitoun, I realize that it was the Theotokos I saw, watching over me as I lay in my bed. I was not raised Christian. My life has been a spiritual struggle. I grew up in a community of spiritists and psychics, so I was exposed at an early age to demonic influences. Now I am 48 and preparing to be baptized into the Orthodox Church. I realize now that all my life the Theotokos has been interceding before the throne of Christ, on my behalf, even though I am an unbaptized sinner. Glory to God! I am aware of the controversies in the Eastern Orthodox Church concerning ecumenism and interfaith communion, but I will always consider Copts, Armenians, Assyrians, and other "Oriental Orthodox" Christians to be my brothers and sisters in Christ. Most holy Theotokos, save us!

Unless you want to go down the "blacks are the true Israelites" road, you're gonna have to understand black doesn't refer to ethnicity, but to sin.

Thank you so much for this video. One thing I thought of after watching this, is that the Virgin Mother Mary was the real Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is a cup or vessel that can receive the divine grace of God, and that’s what she was. She was the “divine vessel” who could receive the grace of God in herself and therefore give birth to God in his human form. Amen and god bless 🙏🙏🙏
In the Roman Catholic tradition, Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant --she carried in her womb not only the 2 stone tablets of Moses but the actual Word of God, more than the staff of Aaron that symbolizes priesthood but the High Priest Himself, much more than a jar of manna but in fact, the Bread of Life.
I am definitely growing closer to our most Holy Theotokos what a blessing. Other then venerating her Icon with a kiss I found lighting a candle at the Icon of the Theotokos at the Parish a great way to break the walls down as a former protestant. I liken it to bringing a flower to my mom.

I see people bickering about whether Orthodox or the Catholic Church is the true faith. Please understand that we were one church until 1054 AD. Both these churches revere Mary as the Holy Virgin Mother of God.

Catholics don't worship Mary. Just like the Orthodox, we venerate her. Only the Triune God is worshipped, period.

Mary had to be sinless, God would not be carried in a vessel that was impure. But what about St. Jerome’s “full of grace”? Does kecharitomene have a sense of fullness? Yes, it does. The prefect tense carries with it a sense of fullness or completion. Take for example the word translated “it is written” (gegraptai). It too is in the perfect tense, and carries a sense of “It has been written and it stands written.” It lacks nothing. Likewise, Mary has been graced (favored) by God and she stands in that grace (favor). She is full of grace.

No Eastern Orthodox or Roman Catholic has ever "worshipped" the Virgin Mary as God, though the "un" holy Quran asserts that Christians worship a "trinity" consisting of a "Father, Son, and Virgin Maryam", and the Roman dogmas of the Immaculate Deception and the Assumption skirt the borders of making the Theotokos "naturally immortal", by implication, though Catholics would strenuously deny that.

No. For God sees things differently (Thank God). The good news is that we the Copts are very special to Jesus. He visited our land when He was a child. Sorry , He did not visit yours. He also said ," Blessed be my people of Egypt." The apparition of the virgin Mary a few times in our churches is a proof that Jesus accepts us .He listens to our prayers. Guess what we have literally moved mountains when we prayed. Orthodox or not does not really matter. This is a lovely film. There was a well-intentioned statement that the Protestant "reformation" caused a further divide within the body of Christ. Mother Mary, pray for us. Luke 1 v46-55 Shows us how Blessed Mary is. John19 v26-27 tells us Mary is Jesus mother and he hands her to his disciple to care for her.

It's first reliant on the concept of original sin, whether there is an inherited fallen nature. The eastern orthodox deny this, the western Church believes this.
Next is the fact that Christ gets his human nature from Mary, He shares his human nature with her. If He is born without the taint of Original Sin, she cannot be born with Original Sin, and also have never sinned herself. Eastern Orthodox agree she never sinned.
This was her salvation, that God preserved her from sin so that His Son can have a mother as perfect as Him.
Honestly, the dogma of the Immaculate Conception really comes down to the theology of Original Sin.

Personally, I venerate the Holy Mother of God, Isabelle Romee, wife of Jacques d'Arc. Isabelle taught her daughter Joan of Arc everything about the faith, and it was Isabelle who petitioned the Pope in Rome for a retrial to to nullify the verdict against her daughter Joan. Isabelle at age 70, in poor health, made the trip to Paris to make the opening statement at the Rehabilitation/Nullification Trial of Joan of Arc in 1455/56 CE. Opening statement below:

They have communed with Christ and in keeping with GOD's promises and covenant; GOD's grace has mixed with them ,a created being, and made a new man or "new being" that is illuminated by the divinity of Christ, GOD, and the Holly Spirit. There is no upper limit to Grace. From grace to grace. They are alive eternally. Living illuminated beings can help with some things, and what they can't help with they pass on to GOD with the strongest prayers. They pray with us and guide us, teach us how to pray. How can they hear us? Because they know us. How can they hear the prayers of millions of people? We are all the same creatures we all pray for the same thing . Liberation from sorrow and true salvation. They have walked the path so they can intercede in our sorrow and tears to show us the way... until eventually we too can know GOD and receive grace and in this way have the ability to help an infinite number of beings.

Can someone please explain to me how she hears and other saints hear our prayers? I'm new to orthodoxy and really trying to understand. I know God is omnipresent and omniscient..but how does it work with the others?
We believe God carries our prayers to the saints in heaven. So when you ask saint Mary for anything God makes your prayer known to her. I have heard an argument from protestants how can the saints in heaven listen to millions of prayers daily but God is all powerful so we know by his provision it happens.

1: Quoting our Lord. God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. God is the God of the living, not of the dead, for all are alive in Him. So, the saints, including the holy Virgin, do hear our prayers IN HIM.
2: What does it mean to be an adopted son, or child of God. For us Orthodox, to be "saved", is to become and have all that the Eternal Son has by nature, bestowed upon us by Grace. "Salvation" is MUCH more than just being forgiven, though that is certainly part of it. Your Protestantism has made you just as mistaken as those Sadducees who questioned our Lord on the Resurrection.
