Such a nice video thank you so much👍
Very concise and helpful
Very concise and helpful
Your lesson is so beautiful! Thank you master!
Great tip - struggled starting a lot of boulders today and think this would help with several of them!
Great tips! Def going to practice on easier climbs. Thank you!
love the vibe ~
that last move 🙏🙏
Just for you Evan
This was great! I did a no-hands climb (with ropes) about a month ago visiting Movement Santa Clara, it was fun! One additional challenge: can you do the movements without relying on momentum? Turns it into a much more balance/strength thing. Please let me know if you have any tips on that, I'm trying to get better at super-static climbing
Thanks for your comment and question Tristan. This particular challenge was very difficult to finish without momentum because the other holds could easily get in the way. The best tip I've come across for no hand climbing/balance is to extend your lower foot/toes as far as possible in order to raise your hips higher. This will put your knee in a better position (angle) to make the stand up easier. I hope that helps. Cheers! - Dave
@@climbhangout Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try that
brillant
Thanks 😊
This looks like cheating. Awesome. ❤
Haha thanks! It feels like cheating too 😜
Nice climbing Stef!
im trying to break into v5 thanks for this video!
Best of luck! I am pretty sure these tips will help you. When I'm coaching classes/climbing teams I always teach and use these techniques. Let me know how it goes 🙂 - Dave
Always cool to see a no hands climb. Wild looking left foot in the final position
This challenge was really hard. We only had a couple of climbers in the whole gym complete it. Matthew here really did a great job of keeping his body in balance and using momentum well.
Excellent advice, Dave!
Thanks!
Perfect video! I pray this works for some sit starts I just can't seem to get as a 6'6" climber
I really hope it helps you. I always find myself using this trick when I feel off balance at the start. It seems to work for me every time. Good luck! 🤞 - Dave
Christopher says he likes the music 😀
Love the pogo kick
Nice work Isaac!
Well set. Love it
Happy New Year 🎉
ive got a point where i dont think im improving by just climbing. so im going to try these and see what happens
If you have been "just climbing" but not using these techniques, then you are guaranteed to see improvement once you start. I'm sure these will help. Take care friend, and please let me know about your progress. Cheers! - Dave
Great info
Thanks 😀
Thank You, short sweet and to the point. Love it
Cheers! Best of luck with your climbing. - Dave
What kind of sadist puts these many giant holds on a slab!?
Dab sorry But you're right, foot touched the purple.😅
Dab sorry 😅
Theres this awesome steep overhanging 11a(fairly accurate grade id say) at my gym and I am getting super burnt hauling up and out of the roof, i tried to get some toes in, but also felt like I was spending too much time finding feet. Im looking forward to going back and trying these techniques.
You remind me a bit of Bob Ross teaching bouldering
Do you have a online store?
I should be there tonight but I need new shose
Keep staying kind!
Used the green hold to leverage.
Complete balance mode
No hands, wrists okay though
No square space ad?😅

4b. Take two months off from climbing after severely sprained ankle and whiplash.
Dude, i just came back from the gym and was having trouble with an almost upside down overhang route. I watched this video cause of it. Now I'm hype up to try this out on my next trip there.
I really hope these tips help. Let me know how it goes! - Dave
How the fuck is that a v2-v3
Yeah, great tips! I will try to focus on them next time.
Thanks! Best of luck 😀
Another great tip! This is why I love climbing here!

0:40 I'd say surface (contact) area is another factor..
These types of climbs are my absolute favorite. Combination of pull/push and different types of techniques. Love them
Absolutely, they're fantastic!
May be coincidence (regardless this video was extremely helpful) but I watched this video twice, realized overhang climbing was more suited to my strength/ style and my next session sent my first V6-V8! Love the video and level of detail!
That's fantastic! Congratulations 🤩💯🙌
