      Hahaha, thanks 😁
After this video, Christopher made a video where he interviewed me. Perhaps I can find a way to put it in the community section.

I know, what an awesome wee kid, hanging off one hand cool as a cucumber while he sorted his feet out nicely! 😀👍

I think you hit on one of the biggest misconceptions of climbing. That you need to be super strong and fit to start. I also "wasted" 10 years of a good friend trying to get me to climb (outdoors) as I had visions of sheer cliffs and needing to get into serious shape to climb. If you can walk up a flight of stairs or go up a ladder you are more than fit enough to climb. I'd say that the second biggest misconception is that climbing is like many other activities where novices are shunned and made fun of, and nothing can be further from the truth with the climbing community. If anything people will be too helpful and you'll have 10 people trying to give you advice on how to send your project. Other climbers are just as psyched for the person who just sent their first V1 as they are for someone who sent their first V10.

I'm watching through all of the videos again, and I was really touched by this comment Todd. I really appreciated you taking the time to share this story. It's important for us not to forget that "the decision to start" is actually the hardest and most difficult part of any endeavour.

Thanks! We keep spending all of our profits on new holds, so hopefully we'll keep impressing you 🤣

I'm so happy you liked it. I was actually anxious about whether or not I answered your question well.
Many other gyms and channels have videos about how you should and shouldn't act. Around here we honestly only care about two things: 1, are you kind to yourself and others, and 2, are you trying to be your best and helping others to be their best. That's our definition of an "inspiring climber."
At the time of recording/posting, Christopher was four-and-a-half years old. He was pretty excited to be in the video and watch himself. I'll let him know you said hi and saw him climbing 👋 😀

@@climbhangout I liked how you answered the question. I guess it could have been easy to just say do this don't do that. What you did was unique and interesting. I also have a 4 and half year old who loves climbing.
Keep up the good work. Love your channel.

@@MicrowaveHateMachine That's super cool to learn that your kid likes climbing. It's always fun to watch your own son or daughter enjoying the act of creative movement. For me it feels even more special, because climbing was always something that was incredibly difficult and I had to work hard at to even begin to feel proficient doing.
Watching Christopher and his two-year-old brother Henry move so effortlessly (because of years of practice) fills me with more pride and emotions than I can articulate or express to be honest. I wish you and your family a happy climbing life. Cheers! 🙂
