Mark’s Classic Cars
Приєднався 16 сер 2017
I love cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. My videos show the cars I own or have owned. I take you in for a ride on a few videos!
Extremely low mileage cars! Take your pick! @markeversonclassiccars
I admit, I am addicted to low mileage cars! I am always looking to add another to my collection! Sadly, new additions force the sale of some that I should have kept! The hunt continues!

1987 Merkur XR4Ti in wonderful condition! My son Tom has always love these cars. This one was a very low mileage all original! Paint, interior, engine, without any modifications. With its 2.3 L turbocharged engine, 5 speed...it was extremely quick! @markeversonclassiccars

1955 Imperial Newport 2 door hardtop, Black Beauty glowing in the nighttime!
Переглядів 338Рік тому
Something about this 1955 Imperial Newport glowing proudly in the nighttime makes me feel lucky to be able to experience it in person! The lines of this car are exceptional! The tail lights are the crowning jewel of this car! Being the very first Imperial year, it set the stage for many years of fantastic cars, but in my humble opinion, this one was the best!
1963 Chrysler Turbine, I wish it were mine! Jet engine technology!
Переглядів 246Рік тому
This is a beautiful car that was experimental. Jet engine propulsion that could run on many different fuels including kerosene….as well as tequila! Chrysler made 55 of these beauties but after a 2 year testing process the decision was made to end the Turbine…so all but 9 were crushed. Chrysler kept 2, 7 went to museums and one to a private party. Somehow Jay Leno purchased one! @markeversonclas...

The car was in a heated building for the past 40 years. The original owner died and his widow couldn’t part with it. When she died her sons decided to sell it. Now I am the lucky owner!

Ford decided to expand their market share by taking the Thunderbird from a 2 seat sports car to a 4 passenger personal luxury car. It was a huge success! The first year…”Square Bird” saw production of 37 892 vehicles built, however only 2,134 convertibles were produced, making this black beauty quite rare!
Fully restored! 1958 Thunderbird Convertible! 1 of just 2,134 convertibles built for 58. Very rare!

Minnesota winters are long and cold…not great for driving collector cars in, so these are stored from November through May. I love all of the seasons Minnesota offers but when spring comes back these cars will be back on the road! @markeversonclassiccars

The classiest car of 1955 !
Thank you! I agree with you!
I’ve had an EU XR4i with the 2.8. I always wanted an XR4Ti
Do you still own this car?
Sorry, it was sold.
Great cars. I own a 92 Regency 98 as a daily. And its done very well so far
Lucky you! Yes I agree with you, great cars! Thanks for commenting on this clip!
Chrysler made the most beautiful cars.
Thank you, yes I agree with you!
I’ve seen quite a lot of Imperial and New Yorker when I was a kid, mostly driven by wealthy pensioners unsurprisingly. I always thought these were one of the most uncool looking car, something that I’ll never want to own in a million years. But now I think this is just so cool, simply because there aren’t cars like this anymore. There isn’t a modern car that remotely resembles something like this, and I think it made full circle and now I want it, really bad.
Thank you for your comment. I am with you…I totally agree!
Love the car. I've owned two 1962 Imperials, a Crown convertible in white, red leather interior. And a Custom coupe in rosewood poly with matching interior, same material as yours. Oh to still have them now...
Thanks! Yes. Lots of cars I wished I had never sold! You run out of room and have to make room for the new ones!
Yes, at this point I would need a forty five car warehouse... Although there are some I would never want to see again. Like a 1971 VW 411, bought new in a spasm of practically and was a lemon from the get go.
Born 1950 parents only drove Packard's until I was a teenager. I have quite never fit in if I had the resources that would be a prize. Thanks for the ride along. Oh we had a 400 that color. I am in Florida the memories are wonderful.
Thanks for your comment. Fun memories!
I enjoyed your video. Perhaps someday I would like to own one.
Thank you for your comment
Beautiful car! worth every penny.
Thank you for your comment! It is really a great car! Thanks again!
Beautifully maintained, well done. That is the cleanest engine ive seen in a car that age. You know, in all honesty, American car manufacturers should go back to building these type luxury cars, with the modern safety upgrades of course.
Thank you for your generous comment! I agree with you!
Beautiful! 👍👍
Thank you for your comment!
Wow. What a beauty. Reminds me of a SAAB.
Thanks for your comment!
Oh, wow!
Thank you! That’s what I always say (think) when I go into the garage!
I'm in the process of restoring an identical Newport- colors and all. I envy your chrome- I'm just getting to that!
They are beautiful cars! Glad you have one!
It’s lovely
Thank you!
I have a 93 New Yorker Fifth Avenue, rides like a dream 🛌
She's a BEAUTY!
Thank you!
Drove my Granddad's Imperial. Burgundy red interior. I was a kid and hated it. Now that I'm older, I'd drive this -- no questions!
Thanks. Yes, funny how tastes change!
She’s a beauty!
Thank you! I’m pretty partial to her too!
That’s not a series 62. Series 62 had an additional chrome strip down the sides.
I read the plate right off from the car, but you know more so okay then…since I sold it, I can’t confirm one way or the other. Again I just read the ID plate from the factory.
My aunt had one of these back in the late 60s early 70s. Beautiful car.
Thanks for your comment.
My grandfather had one just like this only in white, I myself have the 68, 73, and 1981 model imperials. The marque is wonderful, and weather hit or miss i still love them!
Thank you for your comment!
Dad had a black '55 New Yorker. Similar to the Imperial and they shared the dashboard. That dash had a feature unique to 1955. Stop the video at 4:48 - the stalk emerging from the dash to the right of the divided circular gauge cluster is the gear shift lever. Chrysler adopted the push button transmission starting in 1956.
Thank you for your comment, I love that lever shifter!
USA, USA, USA!!!
Yes! USA, USA! Thank you!
Thanks, great Classic…..& quick overviews …
Thank you for your comment. I agree, it is a great classic! Thanks again!
This car is gorgeous!
Thank you for your comment! I agree with you!
Beautiful Newport you have there! Especially that stunning interior. I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of that. I really want to find a '56 four-door some day.
Thank you for your comment! I hope you find your 1956 Imperial!
That's the same car Robert DeNiro was driving in HEAT when Al Pacino pulled him over on the highway before they had coffee together. Al was driving a 1993 Infiniti J30.
That is good to know. Makes me want to watch HEAT!
I`ve also have a `62 Crown, in blue and with the same interior as yours. Best wishes from Sweden.
Thank you! Greetings from Minnesota!
You can take the license plate and your registration to your DMV and assign the plate to your vehicle if the plate is out of circulation by wreaking yard 😊!
Thank you. Just last year I finalized that 1955 MN plate.
K-car gone nuts Love it
Visiting a Chrysler dealer in 1993 really was a transitional year with the LH cars being introduced and sold along side these. Two very different approaches to design and engineering.
Beautiful car. These haven't aged well because they were so over the top. Normal taillights would have looked better. I can't believe you ignored Packard as a competitor. It was the oldest American luxury make in existence in 1955.
Good point. I own a 1950 Packard so I agree with you! My miss! You are the first person to point that out! I disagree with the negative sentiment about the taillights and that these haven’t aged well, but that’s your opinion. Most people have been complementary on its appearance. Thank you for your opinion
@@markeversonclassiccarsDon't get me wrong, I feel Imperial took Packard's place in the lineup, and was the superior luxury brand after 1956. I just feel Virgil Exner went too far with the neoclassical look, and carried it too long into the 60's. Still, it was THE choice brand.
Didn't they make a movie about this company with Kevin Costner... or was it Jeff Bridges? Oddly, I never watched it... think I will now! Elegant ride... it really has some lines and styling straight out of the 30s... not all the chrome and fins which made a lot of the cars of that time... caricatured. And man, that runs quiet! Is that all stock? If so, wow. I'm sure you had no issues unloading that, but I wouldn't be surprised if you flat-out kept it.
Thank you for your comment. I still have this car. It is really a fun car to drive around in. The movie you are referring to is called "Tucker " Jeff Bridges plays the man Tucker who made the famous 1948 Tucker!
I had one years ago that was white with brown interior. Had about the same mileage, but quite a bit of rust I bought it from the Wife of the original owner that also ran the Chrysler dealership it came from. I think yours may have a newer starter in it . I don't think the familiar high pitched starter was used until 63.
Thank you for your reply! This is just the way I purchased it. I've had it for over 20 years!
OMG! Ya just want to die looking at this piece of art! I want to lick it from front bumper to the back space-age tail lights! Gah!
Thank you for your comment. Very well said....Piece of art!...Yes, I agree with you!
Wonderful Car, Treasure it, I’ve had quite a few Cadillacs. None were better than this ! My 1951 Caddy might come close, … UK Essex !
Thank you for your kind comment.
My father had the 2 door. Inside it was exactly like this!
The 1991 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite is my favorite car. Mom had a black body gray interior 50th Anniversary model, I had a dark blue with blue interior non 50th Anniversary model. Miss them both dearly.
Thank you for your comment. Sounds like you had two very nice 98s in your life!
@@markeversonclassiccars actually 3, I also had a 1995, it wasn't quite as enjoyable as the 1991.
An Incredibly Beauuutiful Car!💕
Thank you for your comment! I agree with you, beautiful yes…the lines are flowing!
Wow, look at that thing, truly a Lincoln; the next-gen Lincoln which followed, quite frankly, was an abomination. Lincolns of the '70s were just plain... fierce; you have fools in your area who won't let you merge into traffic? Fly up the ramp in one of these things, and watch'em scoot. The 1970 Lincoln Continental was insane. Nice find!
The 80s Chryslers were peak faux luxury; and not bad looking either... different and distinctive from anything in the American auto market. You could get so much bang for your buck with the Le Barons and Fifth Avenues. RIP Iacocca. By this time... well... it was clear that Iacocca had retired, and however Chrysler was changing... it just seemed that these 90s cars lacked... innovation. Nice find however!
Thanks for your thoughts on my car. Certainly Chrysler had some issues, but I loved the way these last Imperials looked and drove. That said, this one had incredibly low miles so it still acted as new.
The '59 South Hamptons were my favorite. And the Ghia Imperials were... damn... something else.
My dad had a 59 South Hampton! Very nice
Yes, this is a great find, my grandfather had one of these, and I got to drive it quite often... light silver I think. It was incredibly peppy, and handled beautifully. It also sat nicely, by which I mean the seats didn't swallow you, they supported you. And the dash wasn't in your face... never drove anything else like it. And it was a good-looking car, nice straight lines... but not boxy, modern, but not blahs-ville. And there was nothing visibly badge-engineered about this car... this Olds 98 was an Olds 98. And yes, the 3800 was one of the best motors ever made. Oldsmobile's last triumphant appearance on the stage, followed by the death-throes of the Aurora, Silhouette, etc.
Very well articulated! Thanks for your comments!
Great car, I had a two door back in the 70's I bought in Clearwater Fla. from the original owner with about 70,000 miles on it. Fantastic build quality. Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for your comment, great memories…nice!
