The Cabin Filter Option (and Installation): 1992-2000 Lexus SC300/400
A cabin filter is installed on a 1993 Lexus SC300, but also covers all SC300/400 models 1992*-2000. See more info below:
Installation starts at: 1:26
*Please note that 1992 SC300 models require trimming of the filter frame in order to fit.
If you opted to install a cabin filter, you are now required to maintain a routine schedule for cleaning or replacement. A dirty cabin filter can impede airflow and create an even more unhealthy environment compared to a car sans cabin filter.
The cabin filter used in the video is made by Denso; Part #45-1003

      Changing your plugs would not cause coolant to leak into the cylinders. However, recheck the firing order if your engine is very "shaky." -It's a common mistake to switch wires on the distributor.

    • @strumpeteer
      @strumpeteer 2 роки тому

      The whole point of the Battle bushings (solid aluminum) is to eliminate the use of the rubber or polyurethane sleeves which gives your rack zero play while steering. The Battles should be a direct fit and all you reuse are the original bolts and nuts.

    I'm getting a new timing belt on my 93 sc300. It has 123000. What's the chance of it having a bent valve or blown head gasket?? I hope I'm not wasting money

    • @strumpeteer
      @strumpeteer 2 роки тому

      Chance of bent valves = 0 %, that's because 1993's come with a non-inteference engine. Unless you SC is a race car or you have problems with the cooling system, the chance of a blown head gasket = extremely low (these engines are proven to be tanks). The worst case scenario of a broken timing belt is you becoming stranded in the middle of a freeway or far away from home. You're not wasting your money it's preventative maintenance to avoid future headaches.
