The Cabin Filter Option (and Installation): 1992-2000 Lexus SC300/400
A cabin filter is installed on a 1993 Lexus SC300, but also covers all SC300/400 models 1992*-2000. See more info below:
Installation starts at: 1:26
*Please note that 1992 SC300 models require trimming of the filter frame in order to fit.
If you opted to install a cabin filter, you are now required to maintain a routine schedule for cleaning or replacement. A dirty cabin filter can impede airflow and create an even more unhealthy environment compared to a car sans cabin filter.
The cabin filter used in the video is made by Denso; Part #45-1003

Removing Popcorn/ Accoustic Texture From Ceiling

Removing unpainted accoustic/ popcorn texture from ceilings.
Thank you
How long did the soldering portion of this job take you ?
I really don't remember (that was 8 years ago lol). It didnt take that long but it went rather quick as you can see in the video that the first 20 or so pins were done in one continuous shot. If you change the playback speed to 0.25, that should give you a ballpark idea. Thanks for watching.
I did my spark plugs on my 93GS & now I have coolant in my cylinders & car is very shaky...
Changing your plugs would not cause coolant to leak into the cylinders. However, recheck the firing order if your engine is very "shaky." -It's a common mistake to switch wires on the distributor.
@@strumpeteer yeah it turned out to be my Head gasket but I appreciate the video so much I've searched everywhere and no one does 2jz work before 97 so this really help 👌👍
Thanks a lot man
Hey bud, doing this on my 227k mile SC300. Thanks in advance!
Thanks! going to order one for my SC400
I wish you can upload more SC300 videos.
Video Is 🗑 imo. You couldn't make the video any faster?? Lol.
very comprehensive and easy to understand. Thank you for sharing!
thanks for posting, very helpful. I bought mine through Amazon, fingers crossed.
good video n song
Is there a separate video on how open the reservoir
Not my video: ua-cam.com/video/7u6za7NxUJU/v-deo.html; Dont reuse the old rubber gasket. Use a gasket maker made to handle ATF.
@@strumpeteer thank you man you’re a life saver 🙏
How were you able to torque it on the floor My torque wrench is to long and it’s hard for me to hold the end of bolt with a wrench and the torque wrench on the other
I used a 3/8" Torque Wrench (10-100ftlbs) which is way shorter than a 1/2" one (which I assumed you used).
@@strumpeteer thank you
Nicely done, man! 👍
Excellent. Gets right to the point and shows everything I needed to see,
Thanks for the info! I have a 98 sc that needs bushing replaced, I went to the junk yard n got some lcas from an older sc 92-96. It's possible to put the older lcas with the bushing u mentioned onto my 98 right?
Actually the bushings used in this video are made for the older 92-96 LCAs so your'e good. (The later version LCA's need some modifications for these bushings to fit.)
You dont show how to set timing all you did was show install
You referring to the cam shaft timing or ignition timing? This is a timing belt installation video assuming that there is nothing wrong with the timing of your car to begin with.
Nice job. Replacing the plugs and wires on my 2jz right now and I thought I might replace the valve cover gaskets while I’m in there but nah, that’s a lot of extra work. I’ve done my Subaru valve cover gaskets before, the instructions are 1) remove valve covers, 2) clean and replace gaskets, 3) remount valve covers. 🙂
Been driving my sc with no power steering for almost a year, as much as I love the constant arm workout I think this video convinced me to finally replace the pump, cheers,
Question... Is there an o ring gasket in the pressure port where the crush washer connects?
Thank you so much, I followed this and it works perfectly now.
Is there a led conversion for the ac panel lights?
Best video ever.
Nice!
Is it possible to have a clunking noise on bumpy road from bad bushings ? I do a full front suspension and it stil clunk on bumpy road, specialy when turning on bumpy road. Any ideas ?
Check every single bushing, ball joints (control arm), struts, strut mounts, motor mounts, trans mounts, wheel bearings, etc.. lots ot check.
Hey boss love the Vid. I am about to change this pump on my is300 do you know what size the O-ring is can’t find it anywhere. Also I see there are seal kits with a gasket but this is nowhere mention in the vid about a whole gasket. I assume I don’t need that right? Just the crusher washers and o-ring.
Thank you sir. Two crush washers and one rubber o-ring was all that was needed. The reman pump I got from Autozone came with them.
Sorry, I don't know the size of the 0-ring from memory. I'd just take the old one to the store and match one.
@@strumpeteer all good the pump I got came with them lol. BUT all I did was tighten the pulley bolt and the knock went away. Hopefully get to return 300 bucks of supplies! Well see in a week thanks again
I think this song is on pornhub 🤣
Hello. I am interested in putting on battle aluminum bushings, the kit does not come with the grommet (clam shell bushing). Anyone know if any brand makes polyurethane grommets or must I use the rubber grommets? Thanks.
The whole point of the Battle bushings (solid aluminum) is to eliminate the use of the rubber or polyurethane sleeves which gives your rack zero play while steering. The Battles should be a direct fit and all you reuse are the original bolts and nuts.
@@strumpeteer Thanks for the reply. On 2:16 of the video, you install a "grommet." With the purchase of battles, they don't seem to have a grommet in the kit.
@@goguryeorising4247 The kit I used in the video is not a Battle kit, it's a Daizen Sport kit that requires the grommet. The Battle set that you are going to install does not require the grommet. Just put in the Battle bushings and install the old bolts with the correct torque and you are set to go.
@@goguryeorising4247 Oh I see what you mean now, my mistake. Sorry about that. I really don't have an answer where you can purchase only the polyurethane grommet that you specified on 2:16 of the video.
I'm getting a new timing belt on my 93 sc300. It has 123000. What's the chance of it having a bent valve or blown head gasket?? I hope I'm not wasting money
Chance of bent valves = 0 %, that's because 1993's come with a non-inteference engine. Unless you SC is a race car or you have problems with the cooling system, the chance of a blown head gasket = extremely low (these engines are proven to be tanks). The worst case scenario of a broken timing belt is you becoming stranded in the middle of a freeway or far away from home. You're not wasting your money it's preventative maintenance to avoid future headaches.
@@strumpeteer thank you!!
Do you have a part # for the crush washers if my kit doesn't come with them?
OEM is 44327-30040 it's a one piece design. You can use aftermarket ones (two separate washers of the same size). Just take the old crush washer unit and match them up at your local parts store.
The best 2jz valve cover gasket change!!
Excellent video. I had a 95' SC300, great car. The video brings back great memories.
What’s the reason to disable spark advance when checking or setting timing ?
With spark advance enabled, the ignition timing can fluctuate with values all over the map, giving inaccurate results. It's like trying to take a toddler's temperature when he won't sit still.
Thanks I appreciate it coming in with the quick response
Your saving me about $935 this is a huge help
did this years ago, got my display back, lost my backlights. Anyone know what pin is the backlight voltage pin?
If you could slow it down just a bit lol
Next time you watch this video: Hold SHIFT KEY then press COMMA to slow down the video. (PERIOD to increase). Thanks fo watching!
It was for a different vehicle I was looking the mount bushing replacement and I got the right path. Thank you.
we’ll all hope was lost i found this video, thank you good sir. u are a hero
Useful information - thank you!
hey man, where do you get a good kit? eveything im seeing looks shady
For a 1993 Lexus SC300, Google: "AISIN TKT029" Pick sites such as Amazon, PartsGeek, or Rockauto, Those are all legit non-shady sites. Ebay is a hit or miss, so be careful there. Verify the kit fits your car before ordering!
@@strumpeteer many thanks good sir
@@foghornleghorn8740 btw, I do highly recommend that kit because the water pump is completely assembled which is direct plug and play. Beware that the cheaper kits only come with the front half of the waterpump. This requires you to dissasemble and clean up the old pump assembly to mate with the new one. ...and then you can run into compatibility issues.
@@strumpeteer i actually ordered this DAYCO WP215K1AS before i saw this - any idea if this is half the pump or no? pics on these site dont tell the whole story sometimes - ordered from rock auto
@@foghornleghorn8740 Looks like the front half in that kit. You're gonna have to disassemble the front half of the pump, scrape off the old gasket with a plastic scraper, then reassemble with new gasket and pump and torque properly. Although this is not in my video, it's totally doable. You just got to put in more work. Goodluck.
Hope you do more videos. 1994 sc400 owner. Ty sir!😎👍
Great video. Thanks man 👍
Nice music
Good video but too fast to read what you post i hate putting pause
Thanks!; Solution: Settings>Playback Speed>Select 0.25 😁
Can u post this video at normal speed
Omg you did all that in 6 minutes you are fast.
why do i have three cable for my throttle body?
That's because you have an Automatic Transmission and that cable (A/T Cable) changes the line pressure when you accelerate. SC's with manual transmission only have two cables (one for the Accelerator and one for the Cruise Control.
@@strumpeteer ohh i see, thanks man i appreciate the fast reply
Do I need to have a timing gun to do this
No timing gun is needed. (sorry the video was misleading.)
@@strumpeteer no it was very informative thank you so much this is what will help me do my timing for the first time ever
