Nice video, Jack - watch out because 13kg of weights seem excessive, even with an 8mm top which I also use at the beginning of the season. Try to diminish the weight: you’ll benefit from it during the long walks and you can always put a rock between your dive belt and jacket, if needed, to adjust buoyancy on the go.

Few questions you could help me out on, do you always tow a smb/float? If so how do you stop getting caught up in the line when ascending especially if you have speared a fish (2 lines)

@@andjjones9728 I generally don’t use a float. However in areas with boat traffic I do recommend taking one Having a longer float line means the float (and line) will be well away from you when ascending, if diving in 5m I find having 10-12m of float line out works best

Had my second ever go at spearfishing the other day at this mark. I stayed to the left of the church and Saw lots of lobster just undersize walking out in the open. Had a chance to spear a nice bass in the shallows but when I pulled the trigger the safety was on. Gutting but one step closer to my first fish. Thanks for the tips 👍

Sorry to hear you have damaged your ACL, I am about to start spearfishing, going on a course next week. I have a torn ACL and a grade 2 MCL. I had the OP done, re-tore it bouldering. I would actually like to hear your thoughts on spearfishing with a damaged ACL, or if you want to know more about my experience or about the surgery options hit me up. Though from the video I guess yours isn't too bad, hopefully you won't need an op.

Basically the knee has collapsed almost at random twice, both during sparring (boxing) Have limped to marks on crutches and it’s been absolutely fine Spearfishing, the compression of the wetsuit seems to help a lot How was the rehab after your first surgery?
