That’s really cool brother🎉
Look at me i say letters that 99 perscent of people wont know. I r smart.
Cool
Excellent diagnosis. Not that it means anything coming from a Joe Shmoe like me, but as a former mechanic, I love the content.
Smart dude you are, great content 🎉
Gotta be the glow plugs
It was fun being the one driving the truck when the issue started, in the middle of a busy intersection :)
This is our truck, used daily in our company. Tom finding the loose bolt saved us over 4 grand & 10 days of down time! Thanks Tom!!
Great to hear!

Best video out there , thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Tom I recently took apart a NVG-136 from a 2005 Chevy Astro and I was wondering how the oil pump works? I see the internal splines and I'm guess the oil is suctioned from the sump and send to places where its needed but I'm not sure how the oil gets there. I was wondering if you could explain how the oil gets from the pump to the places that need lubrication thanks.
Thank you so much for this video
I'm having issues with it not going into 3rd gear after replacing my shift solenoid pack and accumulator. Before I was dealing with it not shifting out of 1st unless you get the rpms up to 2500 then let off the acceleration pedal, then it shifted though all the gears without a problem. So I'm going to change the main valve body and see what happens 🤷♂️
Did it fix it ?
@@metrokustomz5816 it did for a few days, now it's back to doing the same thing, but it's intermittent. I bought a set of bench buddy honing brushes. The accumulator and main body valves were both rebuilds I bought off eBay, so there may be some burrs in the bore...I'll update you when I get the two components cleaned up and honed out. Hope all's well ☺️👍
I spied with my little eye something blue
I like the chaser bolt idea! I’m going to try that. Thanks!
Also don't use them as a jack stand! CHEERS
wish I was there
Just got off the river. Water is still high and moving fast, lots of rain lately, fishing a little slow
I have a 304 installed with a 2300 Holly on my 72 scout 2. I'm curious about your opinion regarding what carb to put on it to make it hum. I'm guessing it's a 350 cfm. How much cfm can this motor handle? Thanks in advance...
A stock carb is the way to go
Yep
Thanks!!
cool bro
Buy a agm battery and u won't have that problem
Your shop looks clean brother
Cars now are built to sell ,not to last . Cars are equipped now with so much crap in order to make them safety and emissions compliant little to no concern is given to cost of ownership or longevity. And that is why i still drive a 1968 chrysler Newport. Because its stylish And it just goes and goes.
In my humble experience and 20+ years of owning vehicles I'll say anything American or English is pure garbage. My most reliable vehicles has been Subarus and Toyotas.
Yep
I took my cousin to a used car dealership that she told me about. I realized i pass it all the time but never bother to go in. As we pull into yhe lot and get a better look at the cars. I started having too many doubts. She asking questions. Im walking about the car. I tap my boot under the car just past the rocker panels to the frame rail. And notice debris falling under and rust on my black boots. Minor scuffs, some dings. Panels moved around. Definitely an accident. We look at a dew cars and im twlling hwr what to look for and what questions to ask. They start a car up for us and it has a code. I have a code reader in my car😏. I also ask for a car fax or some vehicle history report. Long story short, they kicked us off the lont for doing things that your supposed to do. Confirmation that these are all POS
Well that tells you everything you need to know about that lot
great info. bro
Great guy
Where can you find a mechanic that has time for that these days?
How do you get a personal mechanic?
Detailers can hide a lot problems
I tracked three and a half million dollars of high-end vehicles, flooded out of Chicago, that all went to the same auction house in Michigan. Cadillac Mercedes Infinity... Guaranteed... They just open the doors and let them dry out. Sold them off as one owner vehicles. In my thirty years of automotive experience, I have never seen this amount of fuckary.
good catch on the Ujoints
horse power; cool video and great song
great catch Tommy, wow that's crazy
Welllll..... That happened cause of bad maintenance 😒 Owner: Yeah,,,,sounds like I need a new muffle, but it won't hurt nothing, it can wait. 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😫
I was like how the hell🤣 could a muffler cause a no start...........😲 oh IC
Great video short, had fun while in Idaho visiting . Call you once we’re home
When we Build it they will come
This was so fun to watch!!
2020 ram 1500 replaced on in 15 minutes . Alternator was 1350.00 before tax but the truck had 210k on it .
As an engineer I understand your father's frustration, a lot of the time the reason why things are designed like crap is because of management and not because we wanted it like that. So many times we'll design something in a really nice and efficient way that is super repair friendly and that design is scrapped in the next iteration for the shit it was meant to replace.
Smacking 🤨...
Mechanics they bitch about engineers don't have the first clue. Engineers built the Saturn 5 and top fuel dragsters. Accountants built your econobox.
I remember when they were 20bucks! Delco 10si
8 track tape player, gas .63 cents a gallon and a pack of cigarettes under a buck. “THE GOOD OLE DAYS”
Ooops. Sorry 😅
If this were true, they'd be robbing alternators and not cats
Whats the logical conclusion, they steal cats because they dont want to work, so whats easier the cat or the alt, regardless of value, TIME IS MONEY. PS dont give them any ideas. thanks for your comment, Have A great Day
He is absolutely right!
This is HIGHLY misleading for so many reasons. You can spend UP TO more than $1200 and you can spend AS LITTLE as $75 it's ALL dependant on the car, installed accessories, and your cars factory options.
