My friend was painting with the Colorverse inks as we opened them, and something really interesting happened with this one. She was layering the ink to make the pupils of the eyes of an owl, and instead of getting darker as she layered it, it got _lighter_. That made for a really eerie effect, like spirit shining out of the eyes. So I think there may be more to discover with this one.
Oooooooo! I neeeeed it lol. This would be amazing for sketching down guide lines because a lot of ink colors suffer if you put down graphite first or if you erase over it.
Our exact feeling! We had problems even getting past the name!😂 the color was so faded we thought of invisible ink. Will have to get a broad nib to test because the fine and mediums could not cut it. Yesterday’s thought was fantastic and I hope they make that one widely available.
The lightness of White Hole reminds me of Colorverse's Butterfly Nebula, a glistening ink, that's like a really light purple. I've read it described as periwinkle. Butterfly Nebula is also too light for me as a writing ink but I've been experimenting with mixes.
Thank you for sharing the inkvent calanders. I am seeing I'm better off spending the $ on samples from Pen Chalet. I can get exactly what I want with probably more ink in the samples. The bottles are cute, but 😬 I appreciate your extensive swatches so I know what they look like before I order. 😊
does the writing sample show up more on camera than in person? im trying to gauge whether my tolerance for light inks is much higher than most people or if cameras are making it darker from something to do with white balance ..? this is definitely a wild one, its great seeing the comparisons ^^
It is very light for me. I feel the camera did a decent job showing how light it is. I think on other papers the shading may go down a bit darker which might make it more legible.
I seriously love this one. It reminds me of one of my favorite Daniel Smith Watercolors - Lapis Lazuli. This is one I’d love to have for drawing and doodling. I might have to reach out to people who have bought the calendar and are only writers and not artists that want to sell off this color. It’s lovely.
I haven't tried it on black paper, but since the ink is made with dye I don't think it would show up. If it were pigmented like DeAtramentis Document White I think it would be really fun for black paper!
It's interesting there aren't really many dupes for this one, and that's only an -ish for them, too You're not wrong it does look like writing with water, it's giving me invisible ink vibes Colorverse - Monkeyhead Glistening, Matter Wearingeul - Alice Vinta - Kislap
Another bomb. Pretty on the swatch card but illegible writing inks are a waste for writers. I’d like to know the ratio of fountain pen writers to artists
I just can't for the life of me figure out the real use and purpose for an ink like this is. I've been coming across more and more of these very light shading inks and they are just too light for me to be usable. The only thing I can think of that White Hole might be good for is painting/watercolor, if you need a really light wash in that tone or something.

Whoa!! How cool!! I want to try layering it on watercolor paper now hahaha
Oooooooo! I neeeeed it lol. This would be amazing for sketching down guide lines because a lot of ink colors suffer if you put down graphite first or if you erase over it.
Thank you for sharing!! That is a great way to use this one!

Hahah yeah this one was a bit of a flop for me. It is unique though!
This would be great for sketching/ drawing!!!!
I think that is a primary use for this one!
...wait... ... would this color ACTUALLY build up in layers?
Mildliners are my favorite markers, too. Buildable is a fun property.
I will have to test if it is buildable. I would hope so!
It reminds me a little of the blue version of Vinta Sirena. Fun to swatch, impossible to read.
Curious what this would look like on black paper.
I don't think it would show up, it is made with dye so the ink would sink into the page.
I would be at a loss on what to do with this ink lol it is really unique and pretty 😍
It is very light. I think painting/drawing is the best bet for this one.
Wow, this is so unique. This is the closest thing I've seen so far to a true "Invisible Ink".
Invisible ink is right!
its like a lighter version of diamine celadon cat :)
YES!!! I love that one!
You are right! I think Celadon cat is a bit more teal leaning though.

Thank you for sharing a comparison!! I haven't tried butterfly nebula but that is good to know!

I think making your own inkvent would be really fun! Getting inks you know you want/use and surprise yourself everyday!

I wonder if this is close to Wearingeul Vayu or Dominant Industry Winter Pine... Ill wait for your comparison to see if you have those....
Okay, in the video it seems more baby blue but I'd be interested to see if it was like the two I mentioned.
I sadly don't have those two to compare. It is a really REALLY light ink. I think it is like an ultra washed out version of Celadon Cat.
@@mydandeliondiaries Yeah definitely seems too light for my taste.
I seriously love this one. It reminds me of one of my favorite Daniel Smith Watercolors - Lapis Lazuli.

I think you'll have some takers!
The color of White Hole is that of a mist of ice frosting an early vernal pool.
Oooo what a fun description!
I think that ink would look lovely on black paper, but for standard writing purposes I can't see it working. It's certainly unique!
I haven't tried it on black paper, but since the ink is made with dye I don't think it would show up. If it were pigmented like DeAtramentis Document White I think it would be really fun for black paper!
@mydandeliondiaries oooh that makes sense, I didn't make that connection on substance!
Definitely an art ink. But glad to see Colorverse experimenting! I feel like that's what these advent calendars are for, for the ink maker and for us.
I don’t feel they should be experimenting at $180 but that’s just my opinion
I think it is a good time to experiment, but for the price, I think they haven't experimented enough! haha
@@mydandeliondiaries Yes, let them experiment and also delight!
It's interesting there aren't really many dupes for this one, and that's only an -ish for them, too
You're not wrong it does look like writing with water, it's giving me invisible ink vibes
Colorverse - Monkeyhead Glistening, Matter
Wearingeul - Alice
Vinta - Kislap
It is a unique ink for sure! Invisible ink is a great name for it haha
I watched your video while peaking out between my fingers. What is Colorverse thinking???
It is unique! I will give it that haha.
Points for an unusual and perhaps original ink colour? But how in the world are we to write with this one??
My thoughts too! I think it would be fun to do a "wash" with this one.
Another bomb. Pretty on the swatch card but illegible writing inks are a waste for writers. I’d like to know the ratio of fountain pen writers to artists
I would love to know that ratio too! I think there are more artists out there than we know. But this one is illegible for me.

I think it is geared towards artistry for colors like this. Definitely an interesting ink!
The writing sample kinda just looks like you wrote with plain water and took the photo before it dried fully lol
Hahaha it felt like writing with water!
If it's for fountain pens, stop giving us stuff that's hard or impossible to use in fountain pens, Colorverse!! 15 ml of wasted ink.
I do think this one is only for painting/drawing haha. Writing was really impossible!
Even if it’s unique… Hmmm, just looks washed out so not sure about this one 🤔🤔🤔 lots of doubt!
It is a washed out color for sure!
I like this color for a T-shirt, but not for an ink. 😕
😂😂😂 This made me giggle!
Gorgeous ink but completely unusable. LOL ✴
