Getting to look over the hood of a 65 going down the road brought back some great memories! That Chevy around 9:00 was listed as a 69, I'm thinking 63. My eyes shot to the 87 442, my older son has an 86. Great show - I love it when there's a mixture of years, makes, and styles. Thank you for taking us along ~ Chuck

At 1:50, the right-turn indicator on the fender isn't flashing while you're stilling still, then starts again as you start to move. Does that indicate a voltage regulator issue? I've noticed that on other cars.

Hi Mike, Yes, the arm rests need to be removed, but not the trim above the seat back. There should only be one bolt holding each seat in place, once you remove those bolts, then you will need to pull down on the seat backs to get them out...they can be a little stubborn, but will come down and out.

Hi Mark, I did get it straightened up, when I replaced the drag link, I adjusted the tie rods to align the steering wheel. That is the correct way to do it, but if your alignment is already good, and you don't want to mess with it, you can cheat a little by taking the steering wheel off, and put it back on where you need it to be...the spline isn't indexed, so it can go back on where ever you want it.

Going to base coat and clear coat? Or single stage paint. Clear coat is nice once you get the hang of it. Plus you need 2 part clear coat not the crappy cheap stuff that comes in a spray can, although Spray max has a 2k two part clear in a can but has not much shelf life once activated.

Hey Alvin, excellent repair idea. Now I want to see what you do for the broken vinyl at the hand grip. Those are much harder to fix. My drivers door panel has a crack at the grip and the original owner put matching tape over the crack that is still there. I cant believe it lasted that long. Otherwise they are in pretty good condition. The mylar stuff is also a great idea. The original paper is always missing, always. Sometimes I use plastic and I use caulk to hold it like original. Its not so messy. If the carpet is also coming off, I guess one could resin both sides and then glue the carpet back to the door panel. Theres always more than one issue. Thanks Alvin, great job and great tip for people.

I did get some decent results, but I could still see the damaged area...but I guess anything would be better than what I see right now, maybe I'll go out on a limb and give it a try on this one. 🤔 The mylar seems to work well, it's definitely tough enough, I don't know if the reflective side will make any difference, likely as well as the sound deadening with a reflective coating stuff does. If I tackle the door pull, I'll video it, fingers crossed! Lol

Hiya Alvin!! Well I’ll be dipped! I’m the putz who has to either chisel with a putty knife or pocket knife to get the remnants off my clamping tools. That’s a real good tip! And the fiber glass resin is also a fantastic idea! Thanks for the tip my friend!! And as always, I look forward to your next video.

Hey Troy...at least this time I remembered to put tape on the clamps, that doesn't always happen! Lol

Glad I don't have the vac lock, do you have a video for sequential taillights on a '65?

These were quite the set up, lots of components that make it all work, and according to the comments from people that used to work on these, they didn't work for very long without constant maintenance. 🥴

You skipped a key part and that's installing the shift lever in the proper position I wish you showed that in your video I'm having issues trying to get mine right.

Well, it only goes in one way. Sometimes you have to move it out of park, to get it to seat all the way in, that's why you always chock your wheels.
