I am always amazed at how you can envision what the part should look like.... and actually shape the metal expertly... you are a true craftsmen Alvin !!!
Thank you for the very generous comment Ron! 😊
Stacking all that interconnecting sheet metal is next level sheet metal work. I think I can understand why there are so many car restorations that are started and then abandoned. No problem here as you have the plan. Looking forward to the next one.Thx
There is a lot going on in this intersection of sheet metal, and it a good exercise on my patience's! Lol
Once again, well done Alvin. I really enjoy watching both method development and the actual repair. Walt
Thank you Walt, I just hope the end result is close to how it is supposed to look! Lol
Excellent job once again Alvin. You have gift for the metal work for sure. I can't wait to see the wheelhouse go in next.
Thank you Matt, it helps that I do enjoy this part of the project...it's going to be hard to move on to the body work. Lol
The Bird is coming along - interesting video Alvin - thanks for sharing 👍💯
It is coming along Jerry! You are one of the UA-cam creators that got me motived to tackle this project, I've always enjoyed your no drama, practical approach to auto body repair.
Thank you!
Like others have written, incredible work! Your ability to make these parts, and determine how they go together, is impressive indeed. Thank you for taking us along ~ Chuck. P.S. And congrats on getting the Torrent completed.
Thank you Doug! These videos are not that exciting, but by showing in detail how the parts intersect, may be useful to someone else, if they are rebuilding one of these old T-Birds. 😊
Hiya Alvin!
It sure is nice to see the rot slowly disappear and that old girl is getting back to her former glory. And I’ll bet it a lot easier to have her on a rotisserie to get a better view of the work at hand, versus the passenger side when you had it on blocks. Now you don’t have to snap your back to see what your doing lol
Keep up the great work and as always I look forward to your next video!
Thank you Troy!
Slowly, but surely, and yes, the rotisserie has made this work soooo much easier, I will never start another resto without a rotisserie.
Alvin,
In some restored Victorian homes modern day owners leave a small section of the old wall uncovered so their relatives, friends and visitors see what it used to look like. Maybe you could sorta do the same...like maybe leave one of the old rusty inner fender wells as it is. Sounds like a cool idea to me. 😋
Regards,
John
Lol... don't tempt me John!
I think the video series will be enough to satisfy any family members desire to see how it looked before the repairs. 😋
Another great video. This video is really going to help me as somebody put an aluminum patch in my wheel well. I don't know if you know but you can get some wheelhouse sheet metal from classic sheet metal. They're located in Charlotte, North Carolina. I bought everything from them that I could because I don't have your fabrication skills.
Thank you Michael.
It's not that I can't get the panels, it's the cost to get them shipped here...in the end, I would end up paying more that double than the panel is being sold for, shipping + exchange, it gets expensive, and this way I learn how to make them myself.
