Flitesim CLS 120 Force Feedback Yoke Review | MSFS
Review of the CLS 120. I am now convinced the next frontier for flight simulation is affordable force feedback. This yoke is a step in the right direction.
Here is the link to 2020 fs'ers first video on the CLS yoke. In it he opens up the unit. Watch all three parts. He's great. ua-cam.com/video/GpTlSVhMJoU/v-deo.htmlsi=RUcORLbnp6D5Dl4g

Moza AB9 Force Feedback Joystick Base | Review | MSFS | 2020 | 2024

Review of the Moza AB9 force feedback base. Bottom line is I love this joystick base. I have sold all of my non force feedback yokes including my Honeycomb Alpha. Note: there are a few times when I refer to the AB9 as a yoke. Sorry about that. Being able to change joystick configurations in terms of force and centering is amazing.

Description of current crash (seems to be common on the forums): All connected displays/screens go dark, computer case fans ramp up to high speeds. I’m just trying to start with x-plane. The issue is that I’m severely sight impaired so for me is really hard or even impossible to use a mouse and find all of the switches in the cockpit. I need something to touch and feel. Those touch screens are great value for money but I need a hardware. Could someone recommend something?

The Logitech panels may be what you need. The readouts are fairly large with a decent amount of contrast. The switches and knobs are also fairly large. Good luck!

Right now I am only using the stream deck for changing camera views on my broadcast software (OBS). I am manually changing presets and adjusting parameters on the fly using the Moza Cockpit software. I am about to update this video, because that software was recently updated with some new features.

if one eye not corrected to 20/20 and you cant see stereograms is it possible to get a soda? Is it really just that the condition doesnt worsen?

    • @IvanSkyFlight
      @IvanSkyFlight 4 дні тому

Every case is different, but a person with monocular vision where at least one eye is correctable to certain reading, then it may be possible for that person to get a SODA. Yes, one of the things looked at is will the condition worsen or not.

    • @kevinboy9717

Really worried i dont get it because it is only option to be a commercial pilot. What would you say is important for getting it? Do you have to go to certain AME or are there people that could potentially help in the process? Can it be that they dont give you a possibilty for MFT? I saw people on internet with worse condition and i really hope having a 20/30 (corrected) in one eye and not having normal binocular funtion (having a dominant eye) is enough for getting the possibility to do a MFT and getting SODA.

Attached to the AB9, my Virpi Constellation Alpha (for right hand) has three axes (other than the X, Y axes of the joystick itself) recognized by Windows USB Game Controllers labeled as follows: A long lever/handle located on the center front labeled "Slider" and small thumb joystick on the left side of the handle labeled "X Rotation" and "Y Rotation". These additional axes are not recognized by Windows USB Game Controller until they have been calibrated within the Moza Cockpit software. I hope this helps.

The CLS, I think adds just about the "realism" of any piece of gear I have. For me, it's mostly the trim. With a passive yoke, you are constantly holding pressure, and while you get used to that, it's annoying.

The physics in xplane 12 is much better than MSFS 24 and with the CLS 60 yoke it's a wining combination. Xplane 12 yoke will move in and out in windy conditions but msfs only does that in take off and landing

Definitely dose, It would be good if people can see the difference between the two softwares using the yoke. To see how the yoke responds differently in windy weather and just by applying the flaps, I think people would see how the physics are in xplane

Thinking of getting one of these. Disappointed to hear about the trim though, that was one of the main features I was looking forward to. I would've thought that Hardware Trim toggle would move the centring point to simulate the trim. Have you tried it with that on and not using MSFS trim? (So the in-sim trim would always be zero, but you're trimming by moving the centre point of the stick instead)

    • @IvanSkyFlight

Thanks for the video. I have a CLS-60 and have had it for a few months now. I still getting used to the 3.0 software but when I look at my trim setting in MSFS 2024 mine are very different than yours to keep it from trying to take off before it is ready to fly. I have my trim set in MSFS at -25% and FFBTools trimpos at 20.06 so am wondering what might be different. I am using Saitek trim wheel so have Software Trim enabled and set at 4 and Hardware Trim set at 0. I only got it to where the stall horn would not go off as soon at I lifted off. Still much more testing to do but it is so much fun. Former student pilot with 108 hours in a real Cessna 172.

You are welcome. I still have so much to learn about the software. The graphical interface is easier on the eye, but I am still trying to get all of the parameters figured out. What is slowing me down is that MSFS 24 apparently is not as stable in terms of its interaction with FFBTools v3 so I am not sure sometimes if I have set something wrong or if it's the sim or if its because FFBTools v3 is beta. I agree: So much fun and way closer to what it feels like in a real C172.

When I’m able to hook it up I’ll certainly be watching this video again as you have some good ideas on the setup. @IvanSkyFlight 26 днів тому

You're welcome. I went with the 120 because in racing sims if you go with higher NMs "clipping" is less likely just as in audio and power amps. I probably would have been fine with the CLS 60, but all of the previous flight sim gear I sold came to exactly the asking price of the CLS120 so I purchased that. I have modified my setup a bit further by mounting a small 13.3 inch touch screen to the top of the yoke and removed the Logitech FIPs. It's perfect. I am also expecting an Octavi soon and will be mounting that as well. Love this yoke.

I just don't understand. FFB are signals being sent by game software. An FFB device read those signals and translate it into force. Software that comes with the FFB device can alter the incoming signal like a equalizer can with music. And FFB device does NOT create FFB forces from itself. As long as there is no input, you wont feel force. When certain forces are missing, its not the lack of the FFB device. Its the lack of software not outputting the force. The FFB not responding when on brake with full power means FS 2020 does not create any windflow of the prop over the aircraft. Its a lack of FS 2020, not from MOZA.

I want to clarify a point about the base. I mention that while putting on full brakes and increasing throttle like you would do in a run up before take off, the elevator does not go up as it does in real life. That's not an issue with the AB9. From an external camera view while applying full brakes and increasing throttle the elevator does not go up, so I think that is an issue with MSFS 2020/24and not the Moza AB9. I continue to love this base.

The VP Force motors are Nema 34 86blf04. I built and engineered a collective which is currently in prototype and will be offering Force feedback systems for Heli that work properly. I also cannot overlook Moza uses part of VP Force code without the explicit permission from Walmis the creator.

    • @IvanSkyFlight

Are you saying that your pop outs have black borders either on the side or top? You have to make real small adjustments by click/dragging the edge towards the center of the pop out. Real small movements. Once the sidebars are gone, click drag the whole pop out and put it in the top right corner of the bezel. Then grab the bottom left corner of the pop out and take it to the bottom left corner of the bezel to line it up.

Not entirely sure. You can turn off haptic effects and just have torque effects, centering, and inertia. I think it would be close. I believe my WinWing Orion 2 base is cam based (please correct me if that's not correct), and I can approximate that.

Yes (probably). In theory non-linear resistance curves (simulating various cam profiles) can be set in the software, including bump stops. It depends on how far Moza have developed their customization software, but the possibilities would be near endless.

This time 2020 is still amazing , and I think waiting for 2024 to gel is not a bad idea.
