It's really helpful. Also, take a look at PilotEdge. It's not free, but has more smaller airport options and great training videos.
No offense to AI ATC crowd, but there is no comparison. Too many variables. Vatsim or Pilotedge is the way to go. Once you experience Vatsim, then compare to AI ATC. Then you will know what I am saying.
Haven't tried the new AI ATC, but I do love VATSIM and PilotEdge. If am being honest, I love the smaller airports on PilotEdge the most.
