Thank you Ivan. It was a great chat with Joe. Congrats to both and thank you Joe, and all the team of simviatoon, for your great contribution to the community. I am looking forward to get my touchscreen monitors and for the upcoming final release of the Avoncis Instrumentation update of msfs300. Thank you guys again, best regards and a happy 2023.
Great interview Ivan. Joe and the other guys over at Simstrumentation discord channel have helped me out so much setting up my cockpit. You can post a question and sometimes within minutes you get an answer and I'm across the pond! Fantastic...
We do what we can. We have a great little community within our Discord. And that's all on the users for being friendly and helpful. We as a team offer all the support we can for our stuff and even for general Air Manager issues when we can, but more often than not, it's our community members that will step up and help first. You can't really ask for better than that.
Thanks! I actually signed up for Discord because of Joe and went to their channel, and now my phone is blowing up with people helping each other. It's great!
Very interesting conversation you guys had👍 Thank you for sharing Ivan!!! I downloaded most of their instruments and love them!! Great content your having on your channel 👌
It was a pleasure to join Ivan for this great conversation. Hopefully you all find it informative and entertaining. I know I certainly enjoyed it. I apologize in advance for my rambling. lol
Ref. (Geoff -- P3D Wb-Sim) Wb-Sim C172 Steam Gauge ( Time 0.52 in Video), the WB-sim does have all the Flight Modeling / CFD Modeling updates that the current (SU11) Asobo G172 G1000 has, PLUS, it is further enhanced, improving Stall, spin & ground Handling. It has also been developed to interface well with Simstrumentation (Thanks to Joe)
HI, Ivan. Thank you for setting up this great interview with Joe. It is very interesting all the YT channels you and him referenced to are the same ones I view. I didn't realize just how "involved" Russ is either. Wow! Small world, for sure. Now, I started off with, I think, IBM version of JF2 (Jet Fighter 2). In regards to the heli game you mentioned, was it Jane's AH-64 Longbow? I think the instructor voice over was Tommy Lee Jones, though I am not certain. Anyways, that was my favorite heli game and really jumpstarted me back in flight sim. Wow ! TANDY....😂. What about the Commodore 64? Again, thank you for the great video. ALL of them that you have. Thank you. Be safe. -- Matthew
I got my private pilot's license in 1972 and started with Flight Simulator 1.0 in 1982 and stayed through the demise of FSX. Then I switched to Prapar3D and 18 months ago I moved to MSFS 2020. It's been a journey.
Thanks! I have thought about it. Right now I have a few shortcuts programmed in that work okay. I love smart view for doing pattern work. Having said that, my main monitor is getting on my nerves. I will be looking at wide monitors.
@@IvanSkyFlight I also have used TrackIR for probably 10 years. (I have not tried the Tobii Eye Tracker.) Pattern work in the simulator is visually tricky. In real life it's pretty easy.
@@ENergyJimP I have said more than once I can land a real 172 easier than a simulated one! I tried a head tracker once, I didn't like it, but it was an iphone app, so maybe not the best thing to draw a conclusion from. I have been keeping an eye on the Tobii, and maybe it's time to revisit that.
Ivan, Nice interview. Interested in the model of Planar that you were both talking about. I bought a Prechen 15.6 that Russ suggested but never got the touch screen to work. Skip
Skip, it’s a Planar Helium 22 inch PCT2235 monitor. Try the instructions in this video before getting new gear. Maybe we can figure it out. ua-cam.com/video/uv9170X03rE/v-deo.html
Thanks for getting back to me. Thanks for the link and when I go into my control panel, Win 11, there is no tablet icon to bring up confiquration info. I have no idea why this icon is not there. Skip
@@skipciman9097 What version of Windows 11 are you running? I have two machines that run Windows 11. One is Windows 11 Home and the other is Windows 11 Professional. They both have that setting in the control panel (not the settings icon from the windows key) and they have that icon even if there is no touch screen connected.
Ivan, i finally got things fiqured out and if not for your suggestions and interest, I might not have saw this through to a positive outcome. So thank you for all replies and it was operator error that was the culprit, a usb 7 port power cable that needed to be reseated to make a positive connection.
Great interview. I love the casual, extended format. Joe and the Simstrumentation team are awesome!
Thanks, Russ! Maybe I could get you on here one day!
@@IvanSkyFlight Sure. I think that would be fun chatting about our shared interests in flying and simulation technology.

Ivan, your set up looks great. Think about adding a super-ultrawide monitor. The added peripheral vision is a big help.
