Welcome to Bodyweight & Kettlebells.
This channel is dedicated to sharing workouts and exercises that you can do daily using kettlebells and bodyweight exercises, which means you can do them at home as well with minimum space. No gym no problem!
I'm a guy nearing his 40s, married, have kids, and a full time job like the average man. I have years of experience training and have found that exercising minimally with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises are the most sustainable and healthy approach to achieve my overall fitness goals.
I'm a big fan of daily training with moderate intensity rather than spikes of intense training, which I have found to leave me fatigued more often than not and exposes me to higher risks of injury.
If all this somehow resonates with you, let's stay on this path together. Getting fit is much simpler than people make it to be. If I can do it, you can too! There is nothing special about me that you don't have.

Are kettlebells enough to build lower body strength? It depends on how you define strength. Often times, we associate lower body strength with how much you can squat or deadlift, but overall lower body strength is actually much more nuanced than the oversimplification and reduction to two barbell exercises. Great idea thanks 👍
... "I didn't hear no bell. " was either Rocky or Rocky's coach, can't remember his name or which Rocky movie that's from? But you should just add a ring bell?? Why not... it adds a li'l somethin somethin to the video.
A lot of what you say it's true. But in my personal opinion I believe in a saying that Bruce Lee said "Abosorb what is useful and discard what is useless." Martial arts are just as useful as boxing or grapling. But it all depends on your constant practice and having the right instructor.
Totally agree. It's about finding what works for you.
in what part of the world do you live?

Well done mate.
Thanks mate!
How heavy are your bells?
@@roledotoledo 2 x 28 kgs
@@bodyweightkettlebellsthanks! Another question: is this a supplemental workout (e.g. finisher) or can it be the main workout of a program?
@@roledotoledo it can be either. When used as a primary workout routine, I would do 3x a week with a day rest inbetween and use heavy-ish bells. If used as accessory, I would go light with the bells. As a reference for me, primary workouts use 2x28s. As accessory, I use 2x16s.
@@bodyweightkettlebells I see. how about the sets done? Any recommended starting points?
@roledotoledo 15-20 minutes EMOM is a good place to start. Work your way up to 30-40 minutes
Congratulations : )

Never understood people who try to argue what martial art is better based on street fights, the risk to reward is incredibly high to the point even if you win a fight you may still end up in prison, a really superb result.

7:00 Very light sparring. Yup 👍 😂😅. He just lost his balance. Meanwhile just seconds prior your sparring partner was shaking the Cobb webs 🕸️ out of his head before he got knocked down by you at 6:50 . Glad you are learning in your journey. Perhaps invest in a good headgear. That and get a boxing coach who is more focused on defensive skills first. Try the Hit N Move / Air Armor Precision Headgear / . That’s a lightweight headgear. Good luck. 🍀 Edit ✍️ Ohhhhhhh, and he goes down again at 8:48 mainly because he got caught when he was throwing his punch which double the power. But it’s just light friendly sparring. Ok 👌 😅😂 Invest in a headgear! Edit ✍️ again 10:20 he shakes 🫨 the cobwebs 🕸️ out of his head once again. 🤦🏼 Great sparring partner
8:20 I saw that comment and I can speak from experience. When I first started my coach gave me barely any training. Whenever I would spar I would take undue punishment because I had no defense. That guy who said that comment is 100% correct ✅! He might come across to harsh. Yet you misunderstood him. You need a good trainer to teach you proper defense first before you spar. As when I was thrown into sparring with the gym members I would get hit and hurt because I had no defense! He is correct in saying your head is up and chin out. You need to curl you left shoulder forward with you chin and head down to protect your chin. That and keep a good active guard. Wether it’s gloves up. Good defensive skills are more important than anything else when you are first starting out in boxing.
If I'm starting off at home, what type of videos do you recommend I start with to get the ball rolling before I find a gym ? I'm currently in school but will be graduating in the summer and plan to find a gym then, but in the meantime I'd like to have things to work on and build some fundamentals. Great video btw
@@bbetros watch Tom Yankello's video on proper boxing stance and how throw proper jab. Both videos are EXCELLENT to build great foundation.
Are sapate as old as dands, baithaks? Did you warm up at all or just get after it?
Remember Kettlebell is for muscular endurance. You are not going to build biceps like curls or chest like bench press. But for functional it beats bodybuilding
Yep, agreed. KBs are awesome for overall health.
I’m 67 now and have been training since I was 14. I follow several different people on YT with regard to fitness just to get new ideas. I have to say that the way you train is the way that most closely resembles what I do, kettlebells, Bodyweight, boxing/martial arts, weighted rucking. I find that mixing these things keeps me pretty much able to do most things. Keep up the good work, I like your videos. BTW you certainly do not look 40, more like 20.
Thank you! I hope to keep it up like you all the way. You're an inspiration.
I love boxing over other combat sports because boxing doesn't aggravate my injuries; slip discs and torn AC joint.
And it's super fun!
definitely! really underrated benefit of KB work, awesome sharing this insight!!
It really is!
one thing is for sure , that boxers hit harder and than any other martial atrs
Proper technique is #1
I do Calisthenics and Levi Markwardt/Gregory Dzemali's double KB training and I have built crazy amount of muscles and aesthetics.
Good choice! What exercises do you do?
Can you share the routine? I'd like to see and try it out!
@@bodyweightkettlebellsIt goes like this. 2 heavy bells overhead every ninety minutes. Exercises like clean and jerk, thrusters and snatches in 90 minutes (Number of reps vary). It’s a modified EMOM method where you just rep the heavy bells. I had to stop doing them because my hands were injured but will continue doing the exercises down the line. BTW (I am using a different account but I am who originally posted this comment.
Any good boxing gym has 50 Cent on the playlist.

Dang you are great at jump rope. How long did that take to learn?
Thanks. I don't know exactly how long. My jumprope skill just develops overtime... I've been doing it for years
Is this your backyard? It's very nice. Lucky!
It is my front yard :)
You could add just 2x20 of Hanging Leg Raises to complete your abs.
I don't like doing abs isolation movements haha
Great follow along - Only got a 16 and 20 at so I added 4x Gorilla Rows after the squats
Awesome!
Nice workout, have seen martial art guys do jump rope with calisthenics and some kettlebell work, also gets ankles worked while getting tons of cardio benefits at the same time. Your upper back is looking very developed and impressive in this video.
It's that other what the hell effect of working with KBs! Upper back development :)
I do a modified spiral pull. I’d say it is THE most grueling and stimulates the most full body muscular recruitment. I say modified because I don’t dead stop it on the ground but do a modified partial swing to my midline. This keeps the movement fluid and allows for high reps. This is truly an amazing single movement that in 10 minutes assaults every muscle group. It’s a triple hinge including the ankles, hips, and shoulders. It also incorporates a partial and explosive squat. To make it even more challenging, I do a slow descent from over head to shoulder/rack position which hits all heads of the shoulders and delts. The midline stoppage at the bottom and subsequent “pull” destroys lats, traps and posterior chain. This is by far the most inefficient movement creating the most efficient full body, complete workout in the shortest amount of time with the most muscle recruitment.
Sometimes on a Saturday afternoon I do a workout that I call my "in place combination", which consists of rope jumping, bodyweight calisthenics, kettlebell work and shadow boxing. Alternating between the four components keeps the work less monotonous and it's amazing how long you can go.
That is awesome brother. Similar concept with how I train.
great video for people who know nothing about boxing, from a person whose never boxed before, has bad form, and is really a fitness dude and shouldnt be giving boxing advice.
I'm just sharing my passion for boxing. I'm always learning.
Hey I love it - boxing for seniors everything in slow motion. Way to look out for the older generation
Nice work brother, money in the bank
You forgot 20 hand to hand swings in your math :). That was a nice try. I fail almist like you with a 24kg...
Yes, this workout is brutal...
You calling a 20 or 30 minutes ABC "active recovery" is Beyond me. It's a true full workout for me :D
It is a full workout for me too! It's only recovery if I'm using my lighter KBs
Good workout, can never go wrong with Dan John's ABC.
I'm getting used to pushing 30 minutes of double 28s... Maybe time to upgrade to double 32s and work my way up to 30 mins with them...
@@bodyweightkettlebells beast stuff !!
Your Performance is a bit lazy. I don't like how you throw the KB on the bottom. Take respekt to the weight. Try it with 24 and work on your poor performance. Sorry for that but it has to be said.
I think it's okay. One of the good things working with KB is that it allows your body to move fluidly.
Thanks for this video, I have been trying to be as consistent as possible and I am experiencing results like never before.
Keep it up!
Completed the 30 min. With 30 lbs kettle bells will bump it up to 50 lbs , 30 lbs was to easy. Great workout !

It is dan john's armor building complex right?

Glad you enjoyed it!
Gunslinger pulls are cool as fuck, thanks for giving me something new to play with for my workout today. Appreciate the content :)
Thanks for watching brother!
Woah, so many styles. I had no idea. I need the starter kit KB style. 😊. Cheers to you all. I want some of this fitness you guys have. Starting today.
You got it!
It’s not about the martial art and which one is effective it’s the man behind the art that puts in the time and work. There may be more weapons to utilize in one art moreso than others. Boxing is very effective due to the defensive responsibility, and the art of throwing punches.
Agree 100%
Kicks can take a long time to load.
Haha
Another issue with kicks is the fact that you have to balance on one foot/leg to throw them.
Bit UA-cam are not Don g the complex forrest. Ole Chen and Press shift clean and pres to squats, set the Bell Down Shake, clean and pres shift side clean and Press to front squats - this is a Fall circle rest 30 sec
Good vid. Can tell you’ve put in the time.
