@@SailingSeaStar_ that’s what we did. Adds miles and you get the horrible swell that you don’t get offshore. The swell can be so unpleasant that some boats go offshore to take their chances. You’ll hear a lot about the swell in the next few videos 😂
No visa stamps needed as long as you stay in the Schengen area. You can Google the 26 countries. Portugal and Spain are included.
@@4everB2 thanks for the feedback. What we were unsure if is whether we can only use our French visa in France, or whether it allowed us to travel within the entire Schengen zone for the duration of the visa. We now think it’s the latter… but I still haven’t seen this in writing anywhere and what we’ve found is that approaches can literally differ from person to person…!

Thanks fot the nice video. If you want to catch makerel while sailing, don't just tow your 5 hook line behind the boat. Put a 300 gr weight on it and let it drop to 20/30 mtrs. Then lock it with your finger, when you feel resistance, release it again for a few seconds. Then houl in and you will have 5 delecious makerel on the boat.
@@SailingEagleWings thanks, we definitely need a heavier weight. We tried a paravane to get extra depth, but we were going too fast for it as well!

Gas could be saved with induction but generating the power requires the alternator. Our 650w of solar can cover fridge, nav and auto pilot but induction only at a pinch. I would strongly recommend a folding trailer / sack truck. We use ours for everything and it packs away to nowt. Good tip on the Circumnavigators guide. A new one is out in Feb we have it on order now. What charts did you take?
@@ooweesaler we only took Navionics as we didn’t want to fork out over a grand for the charts! And honestly Navionics was absolutely fine. We don’t tend to use induction unless we’re plugged in, for reasons you outline. Or I cook things that can be done quickly and use induction. What’s a sack truck?!
