My 1st Cloudberries 1000 Pieces Jigsaw Puzzle Review!
Good idea to keep your favorite Halloween puzzles. If you really enjoyed them, it is very likely you will want to do them again when Halloween season rolls by again. It is not necessary to buy all new puzzles every year.
Hey Johnie, I think It's cute. I love dogs and especially with glasses on. That's a plus. I saw these a few weeks ago. Nice video my friend. TFS & 😊😊👍👍❤❤
Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed:) it was fun putting these together!!
Wentworth wooden puzzles have their applications out for ambassadors. It would be awesome if you were selected and we could see your videos on them. They are amazing puzzles! Many beautiful Christmas and winter scenes as well as many other images to select.
Thanks for the heads-up I'll check it out :)
First time viewer, it’s nice to see a guy doing puzzle videos. 👍🏼
Welcome aboard! Hope you'll enjoy my other videos, more and more to come :)
Enjoyed your video as always. Cute doggies but my favorite is Oscar.
Thank you :) He's a cute one for sure!!
My problem with these kind advent calendars is that, all the puzzle pieces are the same cut. When they have individual puzzles like that. Exact same cut for 24 days just the pictures are different
True, I mentioned it in my video, all the same cut. Really depends if it's all for the same person or if it's for the kids or a classroom... Good to know!
Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed your review. Looking forward to all the Christmas puzzles you’ll be showing us. Love your cute dog! ❤️
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video, more to come :)
I don’t keep puzzles when I’m done. I take a photo and print them to an album so I can flip through them now and again. I have a few Christmas that I keep but otherwise I’m happy to pass on for someone else to enjoy them!
I really wonder how often people do their 1000 pieces more than once. 500 pieces I understand for the competitions practice and all but the 1000 ones they must be really special!
Trop cute les pitous, j'adore. Un beau calendrier de l'avant. Bien hâte de voir les autres casse-têtes de Noël !!
Merci :)
I love your videos! This one looks fun; I might have to consider getting it, lol.
You should! If you like dogs it's a must!
Hi, Jigsaw Johnie. Great advent calendar!
Hey, thanks! It was fun :)
Eight weeks of Christmas puzzles is slightly terrifying. I guess that this makes sense for advent calendars so you can order before December 1, but the rule in my house was no Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. I have never done an advent calendar. My favorite Christmas puzzle has to be the Ravensburger 500 piece "Enchanted Christmas" by Demelsa Haughton which has so many cute little details.
I dont think I wanna do 8 weeks of that! I'll start with two advent calendars, 1 shopping video, 1 special for the 1000 subscribers and maybe 3 xmas ones after that...
I think I saw this at toy r us and I was wondering about it! Thanks for the review!
No problem! Hope you liked it :)
Excellent review, thanks! I enjoy making my own advent with my favorite Christmas puzzles!
That's a great idea!! You must have a lot of puzzles to do that!? What size do you use?
I use any size puzzle. And separate into 6, 12 and 24 bags per box.
This is fantastic! Glad to see how good the quality is because I have a different theme advent one like this from the same company. Zip-top snack bags make a great storage option to put the individual days back in the little drawers/slots if someone's advent puzzle doesn't come with the individual zip-top bags. I also have their punch out style advent, but I'm not ruining the box and will open it from the top.
Ohh wow I didnt think of that :( I have that other one (next week's video) and I already punched the doors!! Ohh well! Thanks for the comment :)
Yay!! Good morning from California, Johnie🌻 I'm really feeling the Holiday Spirit, so this is perfect timing! I just watched the Casual Puzzler's preview of her Advent calendars, and I mentioned that I would love to see the New York Puzzle Co.'s advent calendar, but it's $200! I love the New Yorker magazine, and the calendar is made of its magazine holiday covers. So cool, but not in the cards for me. Your dog is absolutely adorable! Great review, and I look forward to your next one. 🕊✌
$200 for an advent puzzle?? That's a lot of money!!
She has a playlist and she did one from that company in a previous year.
@@rhondaal Yes, thank you. Emilee replied and provided the link. 🥰 So many great puzzle videos...Happy puzzling!
Thank you ❤. This is great for kids and grandparents. I really like it.
You're welcome 😊 Thanks for watching!!
I’m part of a puzzle community in my region and it’s the best thing ever. When you finish a puzzle you place it on the community page and someone else is able to come pick it up. The rules are simple: all puzzles are free and you must place it back on the community page after you finished it, so puzzles will never leave the community. There’s about 300 members and I always have an endless supply of new puzzles even though I haven’t bought an actual new one in years. Some of the puzzles I put in the rotation are still making the rounds after a decade. It makes me happy to see that my puzzles are actually being used by other people instead of collecting dust in my closet. (I do still have a small collection of my favorites btw. I totally get the urge to collect as well ;) )
300 members is crazy!!! Wow that's awesome!!! I mean that would generate 1000's of puzzles, enough for years in my case! Thanks for sharing, I'll do some research see if there is something similar around here :)
Have the 5000 piece version of views from ancient Rome from ravensburger, and it was a challenge
Ohh I bet!! Never done more than 2000 so I can't even imagine haha!!
I like how you stated doing puzzles and being a collector can become two different hobbies. I love de-clutter and organizing videos more than haul videos. Shopping vids make me want to shop, while de-clutter vids inspire or motivate which gives a different kind of feeling good. 🙂 I would like to say, that for sentimental puzzles, maybe find another place just for those. They can either be decoration or just momentous that could sit in a closet. Then keep your main shelf open for "to-do" puzzles.
Thanks for the comment! Could be an idea if I need more space but I feel like if I find another place for my sentimental puzzles, i'll just find more excuse to accumulate more puzzles. I really wanna try to stay within the fixed limit.
Hi, Jigsaw Johnny. I totally agree about the lions and the zebras puzzles. I do not like them either. I am happy that you did not get rid of the Halloween Magnolia puzzle or the Yazz. I recently donated 17 puzzles, as I knew that I would not do them again.
Feels good right? 17 puzzles is a lot, makes room for new ones if you already know you're not gonna use them again. Good job :)
Hi Johnie! Marvellous puzzle! Magnolia is very good! I love your videos (I follow you with three of my UA-cam accounts: Virginia Greco, Virginia_Greco_Scrapbooking, and now this one, Virgi_in_Puzzle_Wonderland 😄😄😄). I would love for you to check my (brand new) channel on puzzles and, if you wish, let me know your opinion, comments, advice. Thank you! And thanks for sharing your adventures! 🤩
Hey, I've been enjoying your videos - thanks for sharing & I hope it's going well for you.
Thanks for the nice comment:) more to come!!
This is a great video, and an important one as others have mentioned! :) It's so easy to get caught up in puzzle accumulation and then be completely overwhelmed by the piles and piles of puzzles (ask me how I know, lol!). I'm glad and impressed that you recognized this issue so early on! Future Jigsaw Johnie will surely appreciate the wisdom of Today Jigsaw Johnie! :)
Haha that comment made me laugh :) Glad you enjoyed the video! More to come
I have been watching this video multiple times now! I love your commentary on each puzzle and why you are donating each one. I agree with donating puzzles I won’t be puzzling again. I have a large collection of puzzles and I enjoy the anticipation of when I will puzzle them as well as puzzling them multiple times. I love your channel, looking forward to your next video!
Thanks for the comment. So far the only puzzles I did more than once are some of the 500 pieces for speed practice or trying to improve my time. I never done a 1000 pieces twice yet. So many puzzles out there, I wanna try all the brands and check out the new images. Very few I think I will do again but some I just cant give yet.
I had 92 puzzles in January and I was feeling overwhelmed. So I got rid of some to the charity shop and our local library. I instantly felt better. I’m now at about 45. 8 of which are Christmas one. Mentally I feel a lot more comfortable with that many. I can understand when people say they are two different hobbies.
From 92 to 45 wow, that's a cut in half!! Congrats, I understand when you say you feel better, same for me. Relief I think is what I feel haha. More to come, thanks for watching :)
I think my poverty helps me a lot. I have about 20 puzzles I still have to do, but I haven't done them because of working on the Life puzzle so much. My budget for purchase is $10 or less. I just picked up 6 off Marketplace for $25, all holiday puzzles, so I'll be working on those during November. I want to get them to the library where I donate my puzzles I don't plan to do again in plenty of time for someone else to do them for the holidays. I have some puzzles I've had since I was a child, and I can't seem to let go of those. If a relative of mine wanted them, I would give them up. But I've been through Swedish death cleaning and since I have no children and no one to leave my things to, I have no struggle getting rid of most of my puzzles. Better someone else enjoy them than have them just tossed in the trash after I'm gone. I'm hoping to sell or give away most of my belongings and live very minimalist.
I understand, having something since your childhood must have some kind of sentimental value attached to it. Some exceptions. Just like you, some puzzles I know I'll never do again so no reason to keep them. I feel better with less stuff around me. Not ultra minimalist but I do understand it feels better.
Hello my friend ❤
Hello again! 😊
I agree 100% that as avid puzzlers we have a tendency to collect faster than we can assemble. Recently, I gave away 66 puzzles some which I have completed (not to do again) and some which took space in my shelves for a long time. Goodwill, our local library and senior citizen center were very happy to get some of my give-aways.
I bet they must be happy yes! 66 puzzles is a lot, makes room for the new stuff! Sometimes you just know it's collecting dust. I understand why some people like to collect them, it's nice and looks good but it's not for me this time! Feels good to give them. Thanks for the comment :)
Earlier this year i diacovered my library had started a puzzle swap. Ive gotten a lot of puzzles there and try to take some ive already done. I usually do a puzzle once then dont want to keep it. I take about 5-6 puzzles to leave at puzzle swap. Then i try to limit the puzzles i want in exchange to 3. That way im not bringing too many back. Happy Puzzling Johnie!
That is awesome! I see some puzzle swap events sometimes on Facebook I might try that sometime if it's not to far!
Your videos are great so you have more of a reason to explore new puzzles. The last time I took stock of my puzzle collection, I had a sinking feeling. How did I go overboard? I don't have the room for all those. I'm not sure what is a good number but I like the idea of a confined space allowing 50 or so. Thanks for the inspiration.
I know I make puzzle videos but I don't even think I do that many puzzles in a year compared to the people I see on Facebook groups. Some guys do 2-3x more than me and even more!! If a do 3-4 puzzles per month I must be around average in my mind. Probably some do way less but I know for sure some do way more. I think a collection with 50 to 100 puzzles must be decent. I can work with that!
I also love puzzles, but I rarely buy puzzles at full price. I hit yard sales, thrift stores, my library when they have sales, and local FB Puzzle Swaps. I make exceptions for black Friday & holiday sales though, and I have a few I'll nvr get rid of. It just hurts my heart to pay $6-$20 a puzzle and then donate it. BUT! I dont have have a puzzling channel either 😊 Edit: there are worse things we could be spending money on 🙃
Well I see many of my viewers do thrift store and also a few youtubers. It seems like a good practice and from the videos I've seen they have some pretty good inventories. My problem is I'm in a small village with no stores. I have to buy everything online :(
I recently tried to organize the puzzles I still have to do, and I just about cried. I have far more to do than I realized. I think I could fill a bookshelf with those alone. I need to whittle down the puzzles I have done. Even though I have completed them, I find many harder to part with than I thought they would be. I think your plan to keep your collection to one shelf is a good one.
Thank you. I will probably get a bigger one in the future but it's still the plan. Have a fixed limit or else it will never stop! Puzzles take place. Either you collect or you don't. I enjoy the hobby, a lot. I just feel I don't need to keep everything and I don't feel I will do them again in the future since there's always gonna be new awesome products and brands to try.
Well done you. I would find this impossible I love my collection and have done most of them a number of time’s. The only time I get rid of a puzzle is if there is a missing piece, these go everything else is mine and staying . Yep I have a spare room full. 😂😂😂
Haha! I understand, totally. I'm a collector in life, been collecting stuff all my life. I could see myself filling a room with my favorite series. I decided to put a stop right at the start cause I know where this is going. I really enjoy the hobby but I decided I was not going to collect except for some very specific stuff. However I've seen amazing puzzle collections and I really think it's great. I love to see passionate people and see what they like to collect! If you have room for it, do it :)
I resell puzzles and decide on prices considering brands and what new prices were, if I decide I won’t do the puzzle again……..this generates funds for new or used puzzles I like. I have donated to a local retailer once a year and if there is a puzzle issue I include a photo and note of the issue……in return for donated puzzles at the particular retailer (always every September) they give a $5 coupon towards a new puzzle (they give the puzzles to senior homes and other suggested places).
Ohh wow that's very nice. Great find there!!
I have the same problem, I purged over 100 puzzles before I moved, some of them I had never done yet. We were downsizing so I had no alternative. I have been selling puzzles off as I buy, but I’m now to the point where I can’t part with the ones I have left but have no room for more if I don’t. This video makes me want to try a purge again. Wish me luck.
Ohh you can do it!!! Feels good after. I'll do this again in the near future!
Congratulations, this is something I have to do I have about 50 puzzles and I don't want to buy more until I get rid of many, is a to expensive hobby 😢 😊
Especially if you buy them new. Makes a huge difference in the budget!
Good job, congratulations! I have to say, Batman hurt though. 😢
Yes that one hurt haha
Puzzle purging is so hard! I have about 240 and most will go someday but I want to do them at least once before purging. I have a couple questions as im somewhat a new puzzler: where do you buy Yazz puzzles? I’ve been looking online since hearing your reviews and they only seem available on websites that I’m skeptical of. How do you tell if the ravensburger puzzle is a championship puzzle? I realized watching your video I unknowingly owned the rainbow floral puzzle and I traded it but would’ve loved to keep it had I known it was a championship puzzle.
The Yazz puzzles you can get at www.puzzlescanada.ca/ they ship to USA for free on orders over $69 and flat $9 rate for small orders. If you create an account they have a rewards program where you get 10% back coupons for your future orders, it's a great store! For the champs puzzles you can check www.worldjigsawpuzzle.org/ and check all the world champs results, on each qualifiers you see the puzzles and times!! Also on the competition live streams on youtube you can check the past few years broadcasts and see all the puzzles they use!
I believe Yazz puzzles are available online at Puzzles Canada.
I have the same issue. I love to puzzle, but I buy faster than I can assemble. Recently, I looked over at my puzzle stash that spilled out into my living room. I knew I had to do something. That being said, I didn’t want to part with anything. But, my library sells puzzles for extra money and even has a puzzle table for anyone that would like to assemble while visiting. So, I brought a whole bunch over and felt much better about thinning out my collection. Thanks for sharing this!
Exactly what you said: you feel good after you do it. And the puzzles will have a second life!
Eek! I would have kept the Batman and give away the Game of Thrones. Lol 💜
Haha I'm sure many would have done the same! It's done now, cant go back. No regrets. The Batman was really fun btw but the GOT is just a beautiful picture I love it, and it's a Clementoni too, I wanna do it again someday.
Good job thinning the puzzles out. I would love to have the one with the missing piece just to rehab it. But at least you are going to let the next person know it is missing a piece, so they don't go crazy looking for it, or in my case blaming the cat for eating it! I have one cat that loves cardboard, and he watches me do the puzzles. I have got him trained to sit in a box and watch, but if I leave the puzzle unattended for any length of time, he will at some point grab a piece and chew it up or haul it off to his secret lair I have yet to discover. I am about due myself for thinning out the closet and wish I had someplace like you do to take them like a school or library. Karen Puzzles also says some cities have puzzle exchanges but haven't found one in my area. So, they will just get recycled back to some thrift stores where they came from. Looking forward to your next puzzling, thank you for the entertainment! PS one advantage you have that most of us don't, is you can go back and watch your videos of all the ones you gave away!
Thrift stores is a good option!! At least they get a second life. I went to the library and they told me what they are going to do. Can't wait to share with you guys later!! And the teachers at the school where super happy about the Halloween one. Talk later!! Thanks again for the comment :)
It's a perennial problem for most puzzlers, too many jigsaws and not enough room. You have to ask yourself are you going to do the puzzle again, if not it goes out. Although it is nice to keep puzzles, if they never get done again they are taking up space. Much better to pass them on to the local community which is what I do with mine.
Ohh yes that's a key point. Just collection dust. I couldn't let go the Halloween ones but they might go next time, I'm sure I'll want to do new ones next year anyway so, good point, it should be the first question to ask next time.
Great job decluttering! It's definitely not easy!! Thanks for being honest about why you're keeping some of the puzzles and what some of the puzzles mean to you 🧩🩷!
Thank you again for the comment. It was not easy but I'm sure it will get easier with time and practice haha!!
Discipline is so important, you want to love & enjoy doing your puzzles over again. Great job on your declutter of puzzles 😎
Thanks for the comment! It's hard to do but it feels good after you are done!
This is an important subject. I am overwhelmed with puzzles. Giving boxes and boxes to thrift stores. Don’t let this happen to you ❤
Thanks for sharing!! The thing is I wanna keep doing puzzles. Buying them is part of the process. Finding what to do after is the actual problem. Collecting, trading, selling etc. I think I found how I wanna do it now so It is a good step!
Hi Johnie, I only buy puzzles when I’m running low. Like down to 2 in my stash. I don’t have a closet full lol. Because it takes up too much space. I have a small bookshelf and it has 6 in total. That’s plenty for me! lol. I have my Christmas puzzle already and it’s a 1,000 piece EUROGRAPHICS. That’s a great idea . I haven’t done a circle puzzle yet. That’s what I do, only buy the ones I like. I will have to try a Yazz one eventually. Nice to see you. TFS & 😊👍🎃🪦
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing, IM, always curious about what other do or collect in the puzzling world :)
@@JigsawJohnie Hey, Yes it is. Your very welcome. We have great ideas lol. 😄
Waffle your ones that you have done. Maybe make a separate discord or add a spot in the existing one
Could do but it would be expensive to ship. Canada post is brutal with parcels!!
@@JigsawJohnie then maybe donate to a children's center? Or find a library to donate too. Will that help with taxes?
Good advice on paring down your puzzles.
Glad you think so!
Hey Johnie, That’s a cool puzzle. Haven’t done that brand yet. I just completed a 1,000 piece. It took over 12 hours. lol. I like it. TFS friend. 👍😊❤️I love Halloween puzzles. Your welcome friend and Congrats to you again. 🎃🪦
With 1000 pieces it's never the same, some can take 6 hours and some can take 26+ hours. It's a lot of pieces and the difficulty will affect the time a lot!
@@JigsawJohnie LOL. Oh I can see that. Yes for sure. it sure will. Good luck!
