Snap on Icon 13mm Steel Hex Slip Test
Переглядів 2,5 тис.Місяць тому
I know no one reads the description that's fine. The hex is not 1/2" it's 13mm hex. It measured 12.95mm The open end of the ICON measures 13.11mm The open end of the snap on measures 13.22mm So despite have more play in the open end it still was more challenging to make slip. At the end of the day both of these tools are going to get the job done... But one cost 10x more than the other

Just get the Amazon power scrubber

Those are trash. Go with gripedge, optigrip matco , or mac rbrt. All 3. Made by gripedge. Check my youtube out put up the husky bite agaisnt the matco optigrip 💯

So, I just made this repair, when I went to do it, I realized it was already capped off. Would you by chance know the name or part number of the vacuum line on the other end of the check valve that drops down? I want to replace that and see if itll fix the noise though i'm sure IWE's are already worn out.
For reference, that part specifically doesn't exist on these diagrams which is why im struggling to find it.
Does this effect the accuracy of the inflator? As in how many psi it reads?
I have not seen a difference.

That vacuum really sucks! 😂🤘🏼
most stupid thing you could do. It wont last long.
Impressive considering you broke it out of the box and your stick wasn't as dry as you would have liked. Great stuff!
Amazing, thanks for the video
Where did you connect the ground to? My hand held welder just arrived and I want to weld small stuff like that but not sure where to connect the ground
Connect the ground to what you want to weld. You will have to make sure where you connect the ground is free of rust paint etc needs a good connection to work properly
Bonita soldadura, i like it
Got the same bag with 5 pouches. They are great. My only problem is bag loaded it weights 35-40 lbs.
2020 fx4. Worked like a charm. Even the dealership didn't know. They gave me a service bulletin on transmission pump whine even after watching my video showing the noise. Thank you so much for the help!
Awesome man glad it helped I can't believe how clueless dealerships are...
Let's be honest if your not a professional and you just need something to weld this is not bad at all
It does work.
I'll pin this post. Eventually the IWE or integrated wheel ends will wear out and need to be replaced because they will lose vacuum. You can replace the ends if you want. Or you can cap the vacuum line off permanently which causes the driveshafts to be locked in all the time. When doing that you will lose a little fuel economy because of the increased rolling resistance.
The solution for this is to eliminate that vacuum line and problem solved... You have to put a cap on each end, 1 cap on where that vacuum starts close to the valve cover and the other at the solenoid That's what Ford service is doing, and they are not replacing the IWE hubs unless they're really bad or you're paying for the job.. My warranty did not covered the IWE hubs but luckily they are replacing cam phasers and oil pan so that's a plus for being an extended warranty.👌🏽 This happened to me 3 weeks ago and bought the parts, the new revised vacuum with blue cap and solenoid, and the problems persisted.. UA-camr Ford boss uploaded a video about this issue, and the technician at Ford confirmed, and as soon as I eliminate vacuum hose and capped there were no more issues... Hope this helps👍🏽
@@rafaelalmo shortly after this video the IWE failed. Rather than replacing it I capped it off. Will never be an issue anymore.
This is the simplest part to replace. However it might not fix the actual issue. I replaced the check valve and still had the rattle. I’m convinced it’s the vacuum lines. But a Chevy dealer looked at my truck (it’s under warranty) and they said it’s something transfer case related. Pretty sure it’s a vacuum leak. What would the transfer case have to do with my actuators losing pressure and trying to lock the axle to the hub? The transfer case doesn’t do that
The IWE or integrated wheel ends wear out over time and need to be replaced when they start losing vacuum. If you cap off the vacuum line that goes to the wheel ends you can engage the driveshafts fully all the time and eliminate the need for the IWE. The only thing they do is decrease rolling resistance to give you better fuel economy. It's a negligible savings.
@@MotorCityMetalArtdo you have a video on capping them off?
Very efficient 😎👍
Speedy
Good video. BTW, Doesn't look like you used the supplied eye shield :-). What helmet do you use?
I use a Miller Titanium 9400.
this guy a pro.
@@KrookDaKidd lol thanks.
Mine has this same noise. It’s been at the dealer for a month. They claim it’s a switch inside the transfer case. Absolutely no way. The transfer case has nothing to do with the hubs locking to the axle. It is without a doubt a vacuum leak or solenoid problem. But l’ll leave it to them to figure iut.
Hopefully they get it taken care of for you.
I bought a MetalMan stick welder just to take on roofs n things and I think that would be easier to control than holding that impact wrench looking thing.
You are probably right about that.
Can you use this on stainless steel?
Thanks bro, took me from ni idea, to istalling rivet nuts all around my car cover. Thanks.
As good as anyone could make a how-to video. No life story, no extra nonsense, no load music - straight to the point, showed the part number, how you got the part, why the issue was happening, and how to replace the part. In 68 seconds. Awesome job!
@@asagaston hey thanks for watching. Trust me I get it. When I'm usually looking stuff up I'm already frustrated and want the answer now not 15 mins into a video of something that should have taken 1.
Im buying one next time a coupon comes out for one of those.
Work great I just ordered one 5 minutes ago without know how things are but now after see did is good thanks
Really good video! Thanks for linking it up to HFT.

Thanks so much for make a very detailed video I really appreciate all the information how to make a job with this Rivet Nut Setter
Any updates?
I just sent in a XC5 ah battery that the bottom half of the battery fell out while I was using a hole saw bit. I have several M12 and M18 batteries never had any issues with them. I wish I could upload pictures of my truck everything is secured, tools are kept in packouts and batteries are stored separately on a milwaukee battery holder. This battery is also less than 8 months old. I send it in and they are denying my warrenty claim that it is excessive damage. Basically it looks like the screws that connect the top foot plate of the battery came out of it and they are like cracked and brittle. I also had a light recently where the plastic was super brittle and the bottom fell apart in a a million peices . Of course we all drop things but this should not have broken like it did. Hopefully my frustration will get some compromise from milwaukee but was very surprised they denied this. It just seems like both this and the light like the plastic was extremely brittle compared to anything else that I currently have in terms of milwaukee. I don't expose them or use or work with any type of chemicals that would come in contact with these batteries so I don't know what would cause it especially in 8 months it's not like they're sitting out in the sun for years . But if I could compare it to something it would be like hard candy just cracking and breaking apart.
Do you have to take off the turbo? If so do you need to replace the oil fittings also?
Yes you have to take the turbo off. Technically you don't have to replace the oil lines etc. But with the amount of work it was to do this job I would highly recommend replacing all of it. Lines fittings etc.. Also do not use the Dorman brand lines buy OEM the Dorman lines are not bent correctly..
Wonderful!!!
This is priceless. I use it for cuting out around electric outlets in drywall. I also use it for Luthiery
I just ordered one on Amazon and I’m not a welder I’m just starting to get into it but just wanna say will is power …
