BMW E60: Trunk Wiring Issue

Always finding surprises from previous owners lol. At least it was an easy and simple fix...
BMW E60: Upper Radiator Hose Exploded
Переглядів 4,6 тис.2 роки тому
Not sure how it happened, but the plastic cracked and let all the coolant out. Inevitable, I guess?
And the TSX is gone | New car

Will I ever get away from BMWs? Not sure... Seems like whatever life stage I'm in, it'll always be there hahaha. Let's see what happens to this one.

Bought the TSX back, debating whether to put money into it or not since it has so many miles... Maybe I'll get rims... Maybe I'll make it look nice again... Maybe...
BMW E28: Flock-It Dashboard Fix
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
If I knew it would come out looking pretty decent, then I would have taken more time to prep and do it well. Just goes to show, again, how important the prep is. Oh yeah... I'm glad the fix for the wire worked and I got my dash lights back!
BMW E28: Dashboard Removal
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
I didn't wake up wanting to remove the whole dashboard... but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm not sure if this will fix the issue I had, but I'm hoping it will all be fine once it's back together. With the dashboard out, I might as well fix the cracks?...
BMW E28: Custom(lmao) Sunroof

Finally getting around to fixing the wind noise and coldness of my car...
BMW E28: Strut and Spring Stock Replacement
Переглядів 4,3 тис.3 роки тому
The car looked great at the height it was at, but I needed to refresh the suspension and this was the final thing to do. I decided it was best to go back to OEM since the lowering springs weren't in the best condition anyways. Even though it looks like a monster truck, I'm glad to did it since the ride is more comfortable. Now I need to make something to cover the sunroof...
BMW E28: E28Goodies Strut Bar (Front and Rear)
Переглядів 1 тис.3 роки тому
Been waiting for these for a long time, and they are definitely worth it (especially since they can paint it to whatever color you wish). For these older cars it is definitely worth it to have some extra rigidity and overall helping stiffen up the car. It fit well and gave immediate results, definitely would buy again.
BMW E28: Water Pump and Thermostat

Another day, another thing to fix. Did the main components of the cooling system for maintenance... seems like I've been doing a whole lot of things for maintenance lately... $$$
BMW E28: Front end suspension refresh and new wheels/tires
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 роки тому
Well it took a lot less time than I expected... but probably because the last time I did it, it took me 2 grueling days. Car feels good and it feels good to complete a major project for this car. Now to figure out why my car has no heat especially since it's so cold these days...
BMW E28: Spark plugs and wires, drive belts, distributor cap & rotor, coolant temperature sensor
Переглядів 2,8 тис.4 роки тому
The only thing I trusted would actually work were the spark plugs lol. Luckily it seems like everything works and car is better now. Now onto the biggest project thus far... front suspension refresh! I've done it before, so I'm not looking forward to all the work, but I am excited about how much better the car will feel after.
BMW E28: Fuse Re-Tensioning, Interior Temp Sensor, and Door Adjustment

Car didn't start but luckily it was an easy fix. Then the day turned into doing more maintenance for the car lol.

a washer ...... just a washer ... ... a very expensive washer haha
Will it fit my e28 with m20 engine
I’ve got the exact same things to do on mine. How much did it cost for your front kit? Where did you find it? Thank you!
😅 bro have same Fear as me when warning sign come on .
Long live E28 !!!♥♥♥ OO=[][]=OO
Hey do you still have the bike? Can I get a pic of your cdi wiring
Thanks for the video. I had to review it to see how the fuel float went cos sometimes you can put them upside down. Due to the kids yelling, the wifey bitchin about she cant find this or that and Im cleaning out my carb, I forgot if the welds went up or down. As for all you rebuilders. Stay away from rebuild kits as he shows in this video. All you need, if it is that clean in the video is a spray can of carb cleaner with a hose.. I have been rebuilding for years. some might need new brass, but not in general. If you have a welders file kit, the one that goes in the torch tips, you got it made. Each size fits down the hole. but before going that far,, just use the can of carb cleaner. Stick the tip of the hose into the hole if it fits or on top and spray. Wear eye protection cos sometimes there is a hole that it comes out in your face. Carb cleaner is usually 90 percent the cure and fix it for all carb repairs. I learned by a lawnmower repair guy was doing a carb job on the mower, he used a can and in minutes it was back together and running great. He billed the guy for a rebuild because he took the fuel bowl off so he can get the hose in the ports and cleaned out. So, the job is usually 35$ ended up being a 90$ job. for the cost of the kit. There are also guys who take the carb off...such as my troy built mini roto tiller....and charged me for a new carb. I asked for the other and he said he had to use it for a core. That was a 50$ carb. The guy who billed me cost more for the repair than a new mini tiller. Watch out for the dishonest.
The Bilstein/H&R combo is a pretty upgrade from factory suspension. Stiffer, less body roll, but it’s by no means a great choice for “fitment” Coilovers are the route to go is you want to go lower than an inch. Cutting the H&R springs is an idea but it will affect the spring rates exponentially. I have a buddy who cut two coils off of the lowering springs and has a really nice ride height. But it is very stiff. The struts bottom out on big bumps also. Not quit raceland quality. But definitely not the best. Recently got myself a 528e I want to lower. But welding/cutting to run coilovers might be the way to go.
Just fixed this issue in my E60. Also that trunk spring needs to be replaced so you won’t have that problem. It’s on the same side as the wiring you just repaired.
What type of wire did you use?
Belleza
Anyone know why did exploded ?
Cos the material is not for life. The hose that starts from under the oil cooler experiences a lot of heat and pressure when you are foot down
It’s not twin turbo it’s a single twin scroll turbo
This is exactly the problem I am having. License plate lights and the trunk release. Thank you so much for this video. I do not solder so I will have to splice the wires and connect them some other robust way.
Thank you for an efficient, pleasant and orderly explanation. I have almost the same problems so I figure this is the solution. (A little colder to stand outside with this in Oslo:)
Too much I think and I believe for me to watch.. lol goodluck with all the hope and wishes
turn off your music I can't hear any single word.
Good ol Philz Coffee! Just bought 1987 535i, Thanks for this!
Yoo Kimpab squad!
Change where the clutch is out big there two and think u change your belt to
Do you have to compress the suspension before tightening down the sway bar endlink bolts or sway bar bushing bracket bolts?
What type of springs are you running?
Do you have any issues with it rubbing on the belt?
Thanks for the great video, I have a question, how much should I tighten the screw on the top of the spring coils?
Just happened to me aswell... Thank god I was backing up into a parking space.
Hello, what aftermarket front turn signals did you get for your Savage? Thanks.
Did the front ever settle and thus get lower?
what AWG are these wires
Thank you. Got the identical issue on my e60. Gonna have to do this when the weather improves. Disconnecting the battery: is it the negative only that you disconnected?
I got my feet jammed between the pedals and the lower apron on mine. Someone cut a left turn next to me at a traffic light from the middle lane, then cut me off. I had to slam the brakes. My foot got caught between the lower apron and the brake pedal and I couldn’t remove my foot from the brake pedal. Since it was falling off, I ripped it the rest of the way off and tossed it in the trunk where it’s been now for years.
Even if I don’t fix my seat I can still change the position thanks
Just wanted to tell you thanks for showing the shift knob removal and replacement so I know what to expect when replacing mine! I have an E60 535 6MT and absolutely love it more than any vehicle I've ever owned (and I've owned many in my time). I just ordered that same ZHP shift knob after reading about it on old BMW forums and hearing how drastically improved the shifting experience is over the stock shift knob. Can't wait to receive it and pop the old one off and install this new one! I've read and heard warnings in other videos about being careful to not hit yourself in the face removing the old one, I thought you were going to avoid that since you were at an angle, but I did get a little chuckle when it happened to you anyway! Glad you weren't hurt too bad though! Cheers! Subscribed!
What brand pump did you buy?
Hey, I noticed a transmission whine sound @ 1:53. Is that normal on E28s? I have that same sound on my 533i, and thought it was a bad input shaft bearing. But this video is making me second guess that.
Just happened 30 mins ago. Thanks for the video
What size is the shift knob?
if you dont like your exhaust loud well its not about liking it loud or not its about saving your ass loud motorcycles are 20 times more likely to be seen and be aware of than a prius sounding one tell anyone riding for more than 5 yeara this ans their answear will be the same
grazie mi sei stato di ispirazione
Did you put gasket maker on the thermostat cover as well?
Do you know if he needed to remove radiator to do pump
@@jameshgriffhere with the same question. Do you know if? Have to use liquid gasket for the pump and thermostat?
Which water pump brand did you go with?
Where did you get glass sunroof from?
Not completely sure... Bought it with it already in it. I heard Saab 900 roofs fit?
80s Saab 9000
I found a nice dashboard for my ´87 525i. Started removing the trimming and switches. Your video is a great guide.👍

Qk question what shocks did you get for the car and the oem springs if you can put up the website it would be much appreciated
I've read some of the comments below and I see you no longer have this car. however, I just purchased a 2022 GR86 and Im thinking about buying H-Tech springs for that car. my questions are: -How was ride quality compared to the oem springs? - Did you ever have to replace a strut because of these springs (or did they ever cause any other damage?) - Did these springs have any positive impact on handling when your car? or was it mostly aesthetics? thanks in advance bud for the response.
handling was worse, had it not been for the cheap price i would have gotten elbach springs that didn't lower that much from OEM like these
Dude wtf
You pointed at the top of the carb and said this is your float 😂 the floats in the bottom bit bro check some basic facts before posting yourself making up ish for poor fools to believe
Hi, did the car roll more with this setup? I'm trying to decide between a simple spring change or a coilover set (won't slam the car)
Most cheaper coil overs will ruin the ride quality. Lowering springs with a bigger drop than H-tech ruin the dampers in as few as 9-12 months. Been there done that. personally I'm going the H tech route this time for a daily driver with light weight konig hypergram 18x8.5 +40 (17.9 lbs) & 235/40/18 tires on a 2022 GR86.
M-sport but none of the M-sport exterior…? How does that work? Wasn’t that all one option package? Honestly not sure.
The 2008 and 2009 years they called it the “sport package” 2010 was the first year of the “M-Sport Package” which gave you the same bumpers from the European and 135i cars for the 08-09 they upgraded the suspension and interior without any of the exterior parts
Hey man im rebuilding a ls650 now but i got one wiering plug that goes to nothing idn if im missing a part but im loosing my mind think u could post a video about how the wiering harness connects to each component??? Edit: ha just figured it out it was the other connection to the rectifier under the seat pan 🤣
Hi could you tell me where is located the washer one small pic is ok for me thanks in advance
